Dear Senator,

Your proposal to send relief to the poor, desperate people of the planet Chad is an admirable proposal indeed, and it is one that, we agree, must be passed as soon as possible. However, Governor Oswaldt's proposal with regard to Carratos remains unresolved, and as an issue of Imperial security, I feel that it, too, should be resolved as soon as possible before moving on to other issues. Thus, Senator, as soon as the Carratos proposal is resolved, I will move with all haste to close the vote on your relief proposal and I will do what I must to convince Governor Manning to accept these relief supplies for Chad.

But as you have surely noticed, the Carratos proposal is, in a word, deadlocked. In the interest of moving it along as fast as we may, would you be willing to reconsider your position on the proposal and vote in favor? The people of Chad, I fear, cannot wait. Both they, and His Majesty, would be grateful to you for reconsidering.

Warm regards,

Sate Pestage
Grand Vizier of the Empire
Assistant to Emperor Palpatine
Chair of the Imperial Senate

Dear Grand Vizier,

I am honored to have caught the attention of the Emperor's best man. I thank you for seeing how important sending relief aid to Chad is to me. But you must understand this, I am a man of peace. I do not condone violence. I am not here to argue against the subjugation of Carratos. I do believe the Fallanassi pose a threat to security of His Majesty's Empire. I am far more concerned about how the soldiers would act on Carratos, I simply do not want it to get out of hand and the innocents gets hurt because of this.

However, Governor Oswaldt's proposal may not be as malicious as it seems, like Senator Cambrist suggested. I will do this for the people of Chad. Thank you for contacting me, I will change my vote regarding Carratos.

Tremaine Fowlkes
Senator of Telos IV
