Dear Mr. Tiure, The Grand Vizier wishes to express his regret and concern to you, the chair of the Dantooine chamber of commerce—and to the chairs of the chambers of commerce on Tertiary Kesmere, Shusugaunt, Sinsang, and Gravlex Med—for the tenuous situation that has arisen on your neighboring world, Alurion, as a result of a declaration of secession from a misguided minority of its people. The Empire, of course, does not respect this declaration, as the question of secession is one that was put to rest in the Clone Wars, as were millions of soldiers and tens of millions of innocent men, women, and children. The Empire, and indeed, the people of the galaxy do not wish to see this happen again.
However, for as long as secessionist sentiment is prevalent on Alurion, and for as long as it believes itself to have seceded, it goes without saying that commerce between Alurion and the Empire and its worlds is out of the question. Statistics show that Alurion trades primarily with the other worlds of the Riaoballo Sector, and—as a mostly oceanic world—is especially dependent upon imported foodstuffs from Dantooine. The Grand Vizier wishes me to remind you, Mr. Tiure, that these imports must cease at once, and he asks the cooperation of the Dantooine chamber of commerce in disseminating this reminder to businesses on your world. The Empire regrets the temporary loss of revenue that may result from this; be assured, however, that the Empire will demand compensation from Alurion on Dantooine's behalf, and on behalf of the other worlds of the Riaoballo Sector, at the conclusion of this affair.
