Vizier Pestage, I must say that it is disheartening that the most loyal of the animals, Senator Domon, has joined this lot of dreamers and hippies who have lost all fortitude for running an actual galactic government, instead of the failure that the Republic had become. I will be watching them closely, as always. On the topic of this Fitzgerald person, I would have hoped if you wanted a strong opposition you would have wrote me soon, so I could make a campaign to block his acceptance; kill the weed before it plants itself, as it were. However, I will oppose him strongly, so that the Emperor needn't be concerned about the path of the Senate. Disturbingly, since Crion's departure, his brand of politics have become popular among the opposition within the Senate... it will be difficult with one more, especially one that seems to be ready to openly challenge established policy, added to this gang of morons. Should he go down this path that he has spoken of, it is unforeseeable where the moderates, led by Senator Veritas and his recent talks of seeming to want to incorporate aspects from the Republic into the Empire, could land in divisive debates. Do not get me wrong, Veritas is a stalwart that we need in his position, and has been as loyal as they come. If Fitzgerald can gain traction, some type of control will be necessary.
My apologies, I am rambling at this point. I shall not waste any more of your time.
