To Drayson Lorano de Vega

The galaxy is a dangerous place to say the least in these troubling times. Many people worry about their protection, or their lively hood, I understand that plight. To have to worry what the next day holds, if its good or bad. I come to you with a proposal, a business venture if you will. Its simple in its aspect, the rewards and payment are far greater than what I will ask of you. This is an offer with a small payment attached. In my line of work I can obtain things, valuable things, needed things. Items which could help keep your company safe and your workers bellies full to face the coming workday. A

Dear Friend,

I'm certainly open to a prospective business venture. What can I do for you, friend?

To Drayson Lorano de Vega,

I find that in these times it is important to keep workers happy and well to keep up a good work ethic and increased production of work. It is my line of work in which I am capable of acquiring items that can make this happen. Often it is the simple things, ale, wine or drinks that the workers want. Other times it is often something else, as well as the fact that I am sure you wish to keep your security personnel at the top of their game and equipped with the best that you can get. In exchange for my skills in gaining these I merely ask for fair compensation, and a favor in the future, that when called upon, will be answered with no questions asked. Of course I always remember my friends, and I can assure you that the favor will not be forgotten and will be repaid ten fold. Now, I believe it is best to start off a new business relationship on a high note, as such, I am willing to offer you a case of fine wines. Among it are some of my favorite, such as Alderaan Wine, Korriban Wine, Mandalorian Wine, and a most rare wine of Naboo, the Blossom Wine.

Signed, A Friend

Dear Friend,

Forgive me for sounding naive but I feel I must ask you the following questions so that I'm sure I understand you. 1.) Do you represent an organization that I might be familiar with? I'm not averse to working with you, friend, but I must know a bit more about you I'm afraid. 2.) Of this relationship you propose, would it be an overt relationship involving a contract that I can submit to my board of directors? (Again, I simply want to be sure I understand you). And 3.) Would these wines be a gift from you personally or part of a transaction with your organization? Not to sound ungrateful, of course. But I'm sure you appreciate my concern on this point, for tax purposes, &c.

To Drayson Lorano de Vega,

I understand the need for information, it is very useful and yes it brings enlightenment. As for your questions, I can assure you that I represent a private interest, a private organization that offers their skills to those that they see great potential in that will help expand the well being across the galaxy. While many of our contracts are often verbal and set down between two representatives on a chosen world, I am sure that we can draft up a contract of work between our two parties that would be suitable for both sides, with the understanding need of your board of directors to know with whom they are doing business. As for the case of wine, it is a personal gift directed for the purpose to start off a potential transaction of business on a higher note. We find that such gifts have in the past brought those that we work with a more generous demeanor and open mind when we set down at the table for future transactions. While it is a personal gift, we would fully understand if it was marked as a gift from one organization to another for the tax reasons. We are one that understands the need for documentations on such things.

Signed, Mr. Friend

Dear Friend,

I'm open to the arrangement you've described, however I must emphasize that proceeding with a contract may result in a certain amount of unwanted publicity for you (i.e. your name would be required, the location of your operations, a complete statement of your assets, etc.). To be clear, if you have any reason you'd prefer to avoid this publicity, you would be wise not to pursue this arrangement with us, in this manner. However, I would not be averse to working with you on a less overt basis, perhaps through a reputable third party who can recommend you to me. As of now, I can only trust you, "a friend," whose reputation seems to have been damaged in recent days. There is also a not inconsiderable amount of pressure now within the Empire to not do business with "a friend." If you have someone else who can recommend you (in a discreet manner, of course), please have them do so and I will remain in touch.

It would be difficult to keep my line of work as it is with such an arrangement between us, even more so if a name would be required. I can however assure you that such accusations that have been levied against me as of late are all falsified. It would seem that these accusations where merely made simply because I am, how to say, not a human species. It is a terrible time in this galaxy that such false accusations can be made against a person with out anyone batting their eyelash simply because the accused is not a human. I will hope though that in the future we can come to an agreement and work together.

Signed, A Friend.
