| Chairman, Committee Members.
Moff Verilia has highlighted to me his belief that we need to have a vote of the committee to approve summoning him and his data before us. I am not sure whether or not this is the case but I am sure it would be better to do this democratically.
Moff Verilia has questions to answer on several counts.
I would like to do so on the following basis (in chronological order, past to present):
- The report published by order of Moff Verilia which admitted (among other things, the employment of known pirates)
- Moff Verilia's refusal to answer the questions I presented him in a face to face interview.
- Moff Verilia's alleged misdealings with Monor II.
- Moff Verilia's alleged abuse of power in dominating a world in his sector with a corporation he owns.
- The suspiciously militaristic build up in his security forces.
- His company's security force owning a fleet arguably in breach of law.
Gentlemen, something is gone very rotten in the Cadavine Sector, and I propose that we get down to rooting it out. Once we have Moff Verilia before us it may turn out to be nothing, but I have a jolly bad feeling about his whole operation.
Does anyone else concur on my suggestion to subpoena Moff Verilia?

I agree with your suggestions, also if the man is innocent he will have nothing to hide.

| Yes, I concur. I have questions of my own to pose to Moff Verilia and considering his evasive answers to your questions Hubert, I'd prefer he answer under oath. If we're in agreement on this, while we're here I want to raise some other Ethics Committee business. Namely what I mentioned before, the appointment of one of us to act as temporary chair when you can't be here and something comes up that requires a ruling of the Committee. I offer myself for the job since the Committee was my idea and I think I have a good idea how its supposed to work.

| Duly noted. The subpoena will be issued and Moff Verilia questioned under oath in front of the committee. I will have the subpoena dispatched immediately.
If it would not be inappropriate, I nominate Governor Oswaldt for the position of Deputy Chair, I feel he has excelled himself as a member of the committee and while he may be controversial at times is at heart a very good patriot and friend of the Empire.
