| Admirals,
My people were recently on an expeditionary mission to discover new species and bring them into the Imperial fold. We visited Rinn and have found that it was not (as the Sector Moff believed) uninhabited. We naturally extend a claim to the world but would like to request the Empire's advice due to a tricky situation which has occured.
The Surface population of the world seems to have been influenced by Separatists, equally there appears to be a city full of Separatists (using Separatist weapons to fire on us unprovoked). We recognize it is the remit of the Imperial Navy to root out Separatists and so would like to inform you of the presence of this particular nest of them.
We are going to impose a blockade upon them and wait for your response.
Yours Sincerely,
Verence Terrawin
Senator of Alsakan First Lord of the Foreign Office, Alsakan

| Admirals and Senator Terrawin, Deputy Director Olsen of Imperial Intelligence here. I wonder if I might ask a few questions to adequately prepare the Imperial forces for a potential operation at Rinn and also to apprise Director Isard of the situation there. Namely, Senator, would you provide for us in more detail your estimation of the strength of the hostile forces on Rinn and in particular those that have opened fire on Alsakan's forces and explain if you will the circumstances under which they did so? Furthermore, on what basis has it been concluded that these are "Separatist" forces?

| Deputy Director,
I am unaware of their exact strength, but our scans seem to indicate some thousands. They also seem to have armed the natives and been attempting to indoctrinate them against Imperial Ideology. The base appears to be a refuelling and repair station from some larger movement (as it does not seem to have the capacity to self support), the setup of the computer system on the asteroid base we took.
The weapons which fired upon us were banking clan hailfire type droids, so far as we are aware the Banking Clan tends to carefully manage its assets and the last time it was handing these out was the clone wars.
As for their identification, allow me to quote the city's seeming spokesman "you and the Alsakan people aren't welcome here, not is the Empire, its Imperial Government or that joke you call an Emperor. It would take more people than you have to root us out of this moon and with our allies here, we're rather comfortably entrenched. Besides, it wouldn't be quite right to allow the master to have his house taken over when he's not in, wouldn't you agree. We'll offer you some terms in exchange. Leave Rinn, withdraw your forces in a timely manner and we won't lay waste to you. The war might be over, but people who don't want a part of your Empire aren't really welcome anywhere, aside from in body bags."
Scans indicate the city is set up with the intention of being defended, it has thick walls and power generators shielded underground to protect them from the effects of ionizing blasts. Scans indicate high concentrations of weapons.
Regards
Verence Terrawin

| I will be honest with you Senator, and Admirals—Imperial Intelligence has had no compelling reason to believe there is a Separatist remnant presence on Rinn. The planet has a reputation as a "hideout" for unsavory characters and although Intelligence has been aware of rumors about a conspicuous amount of freight being transported in the area for some time, it hasn't deemed the investigation of these rumors to be a priority. Criminal redoubts abound in the Outer Rim, after all. While the use of Hailfire droids is indeed suspect, I am still inclined to believe that Alsakan has encountered pirates, not Separatists, and would continue to maintain that this is not a priority. However, having reviewed the message from the pirates that Senator Terrawin has provided to us, I cannot but conclude (if you will forgive the expression) that there's an ass on Rinn in need of a paddle.
Pending the notification of Director Isard, gentlemen, I think it's safe to say Imperial Intelligence will recommend the dispatch of a Star Destroyer to Rinn to clear out the insurgent forces.
Yeorg Olsen Deputy Director (and Auditor General) of Imperial Intelligence Chief of the Bureau of Operations

| I concur with the Deputy Director, and it will be done. I thank you for bringing this to the Empire's attention, Senator. If you will forgive us, the remainder of this communication shall be restricted to Imperial personnel and will not be visible to you. I bid you good day, and ask that you remain in touch so that we can properly liaise with Alsakan's forces at Rinn. Thank you, and be well.
Captain Holt, if you are reading this transmission (as you should now be), your Star Destroyer is the nearest to a suspected pirate operation on Rinn that requires the Empire's attention. Please review the above communications for information on the presence of Alsakan's forces in the area and the estimated strength and constitution of the pirates on Rinn. Your assignment is to confirm for us that these are indeed pirates, rather than Separatist forces. And in either case to put the operations on Rinn out of commission. Use your discretion in doing so.

| _____________ New line to the Admiralty
Sirs,
We have received a specific threat to Alsakan from Separatist forces at Rinn. We can also now confirm they are a Separatist Hold out as they acknowledge "Shiva" as their commander. We have several vessels stationed at Alsakan and feel we would be able to drive back all but the most determined assault. However we would appreciate if the Imperial Navy could see its way to stepping up the force levels in the region of Alsakan as there is not a specific threat from a well known Separatist rebel.
Message from Separatist forces at Rinn "Alsakan naval forces, you are trespassing on territory belonging to Shiva. I will give you one chance to depart before I bring destruction to Alsakan. Do not test me, captain."
Sincerely
Commodore Harkin CO of the Alsakan Forces at Rinn Alsakan Aegis Fleet
Verence Terrawin
Senator of Alsakan First Lord of the Foreign Office, Alsakan
