Chairman Youngblood, since it seems to be the opinion of the Senate that such actions are outside of my jurisdiction, I am passing along to you and your committee, on behalf of the entire Internal Activities Committee, the recommendation, since we are unable to do much more, that the Ethics Committee begin, immediatly, an investigation into Senator Bernard Oriel of Vjun, and discern his whereabouts and activities during the Clone Wars, in relation to the Confederacy of Independent Systems and his homeworld's, Vjun, loyalty to the Separatist movement.
It is of concern that Vjun was a supporter during the war, at one point being one of Count Dooku's strongholds, and while it returned to the Republic, such a troubled spot in history is a source of worry, and questioning of Oriel's motives. It is also of concern that Senator Oriel, rarely, if ever, speaks of his past, as well as his legislative history, which is one of increasing extremism and seeming attempts to "reform", and I use the term extremely loosely, the Empire beyond recognition to the point that it may in fact weaken the Empire, rather than strengthen it.
Please act upon this request as soon as possible.
