*Dispatched to Mrs Zarcaine via a diplomatic courier and delivered directly to her hand by him. The flowers would be purchased locally. He had also included a small Aurodium necklace made from the "Stone of Justice" taken at Vjun and a million credits alone and set with red Corusca gems (hand cut by Oriel in himself in his spare time) which glowed a steady, sensual deep red light (which thanks to a tiny circuit in the necklace) would pulse gently with the heartbeat of the wearer if stroked clockwise, deactivating and glowing constantly if stroked anticlockwise.*

Dear Mr. Oriel,

I wanted to write to thank you for your gift, the beautiful flowers, and your letter. I was told by the courier a little about the stone that you sent- is it true that you cut it yourself? A man of many talents. You are incredibly magnanimous and kind to someone that you have not met. I am not worthy of such things or compliments from anyone, let alone an upstanding and virtuous Senator such as yourself. Zarcaine has never mentioned you to me, but I am sure that he feels the same. Now that I think about it, I have only met or heard anything about Senators Fowlkes and Thanatos, who just dined here last month.

Your gesture of goodwill is very moving, but I would like to set a few things straight before anything more is said on the matter. My husband and my ladies maids tried to shelter me from the article written on the INN, but I did see a few select tidbits that disturbed me. I can assure you that Zarcaine is not on any kind of drugs, aside from any normal medications that were prescribed by his physician, none of which cause any of the side effects that were mentioned in that article. My husband is, however, suffering from a bout of post traumatic stress disorder, a remnant of the war unfortunately.

He is, as I am told, taking a break from his Senatorial duties to rest and recover here on Chandaar, which is the best thing for him at this time. I would appreciate, in your infinite kindness, if you would gently disperse these rumors on my behalf? I would hate for any further stress to befall him at this time.

That being said, I look forward to your visit later this month and will do everything in my power to make your stay on Chandaar as comfortable and welcoming as possible. If you have never been to this beautiful planet, I am sure that you are in for a treat and will wonder why it is that you waited so long to make your first visit. I would, of course, love to join you for supper, but we shall have to see if that is a possibility at the time of your arrival.

Thank you again, Mr. Oriel, for everything. I will keep your contact information on hand in case it is needed.

Sincerely,

Amneris

It is true I cut the stoned myself, gemology is a small hobby of mine that I indulge in, such is the life of a bachelor I am afraid! Senator Fowlkes and Thanatos are indeed good Senators and long standing valued members of the Chamber.

I am very pleased to hear your Zarcaine has not become addicted to narcotics, this is good news indeed! I am greatly saddened to hear that he has become indolent and infecund under the dark tendrils of such a savage disease. I would be more than happy to dispense with the rumors that Zarcaine is merely suffering from the symptoms of post traumatic stress.

For such a beautiful woman, it must be difficult to have such an ill husband, and I do hope that he has not carried his powerlessness into all areas of life. To become impotent.. to do your job can be difficult to a man and I hope that he is not too flaccid and weak while gaining back his health on Chandaar and shall regain all his vigour presently so that he might be fighting fit and back into the intellectual rough and tumble of the Senate.

I hope you realize that on those cold lonely nights where you might be alone or cold for the lack of your husband's embrace you will not think ill of him and will remember that he is wracked with a great illness, and also that my thoughts will ever be with you to comfort you and guide you should you ever need me.

Through darkness and storms, and the void of space I will remain constant in my guardianship of your interests and if there is any favour, large or small I can do for such a fair maiden, please do let me know immediately.

I remain, madam, your humble servant,

Bernard Oriel

*Along with the messenger this time was delivered a small display of chocolates that Oriel had (again) made with his own hand for her, spending a great sum of time on the intricate decoration on each one.*

Kind Sir,

You are all too flattering with your gifts and kindness. Please accept my most sincere thanks for your generosity.

I also appreciate your willingness to help dissolve the rumors regarding Lord Kuryoshi. I have thought on journeying to Imperial Center to stop it myself, but I know that there is no way it would be permitted, either by my Lord husband or my Uncle Darres. They are very protective and worry for my safety. I do understand their concern. My mother has passed and my father is at his end time, so I have no other family.

I am sure that they will both be appreciative of your concern for my well-being. I know that I am. Though I feel that I am not worthy of your sincere kindness and attentions.

Have you scheduled your visit yet, Mr. Oriel? I look forward to meeting you in person.

Sincerely,

Amneris
