Your Honor,
I heard about the unfortunate incident regarding Commander Merav's actions on Algarian Campaign. I will admit this has become a personal interest of mine lately. I would like to get myself involved in the court process. How, as you might ask? I would like to appoint the best and the most expensive lawyer on Telos IV, by the name of Donny Sagge, to defend Commander Merav in her court martial or any other courts she might get involved. I am prepared to pay for all court expenses. I've heard the reputation of her commanding
officer, General Adenn. I just want to make sure she receives a fair trial. I wanted to go to you because I was afraid the JAG corps might turn me away.

You seem to know more than I do about this affair. The court martial of specific persons for misconduct generally isn't something that rises to the attention of the Emperor, or me. That said, I have been contacted on this issue and looked into it and learned the preliminary phases of a court martial are indeed underway. Counsel has been appointed for her, should she need it, and High Command is handling the situation discreetly. Considering the amount of discretion, in fact, I find it unusual you'd be aware of the circumstances of this case unless someone close to the court martial or the investigation into Commander Merav has been speaking to Senators about it. If so, we'll need to look into this.
In the meantime, your involvement in the case is not required.
