From : Lord Robeir XXII, Cronese Mandate To : Deputy Director Yeorg Olsen, Imperial Intelligence
SUBJ : Lord Gilbert
Deputy Director,
I am contacting you today with concerns about this "Lord" Gilbert, a title which was not given to him by the Cronese Mandate, and appears to be self given. Recently we've heard of a New Party that seems to be centered on the disposal of the rightful Pro-Imperial government, as well as a news channel CBC that appears to be for the sole purpose of supporting anti-government parties, and supplying the people of the Mandate with slanderous lies. I'd like to request that the Imperial Intelligence looks closely into both the CBC and this self proclaimed "Lord" Gilbert
Signed,
Head of the House of Cron Ruler of the Cronese Mandate

| CLASSIFIED.
Lord Robeir,
The Analysis Bureau has taken its time on its assessment of Lord Gilbert (the title of "Lord" appearing to be an honorific of his family, possibly of Embaril origin c. 26,000 standard years ago, the title typically honored in what is now Cronese Mandate space), and concludes that despite one indiscreet remark from him ("The Empire has betrayed us"), and some personal resentment of the Empire which he may possess, he is not "anti-Imperial" in his politics or in his political objectives. He is unlikely to oppose the Empire, forcefully or otherwise, having refused an offer of assistance from a known rebel faction (the so-called "Libs") when the ethnic Cronese on Embaril were being massacred and his own life was in danger.
Politically, Mr. Gilbert and his "Justice Party" seem to be acceptably pro-Imperial. In announcing the formation of the "Justice Party," Mr. Gilbert stated to be among its goals to "demonstrate our commitment to the goals of the New Order." But his focus seems to be, primarily, on the Cronese Mandate; he and his CBC broadcasts are harshly anti-Robeir, but are not anti-Mandate or anti-Imperial.
The extent of his personal animosity for the Empire over what he perceives to be the Empire's failure to protect the ethnic Cronese of Embaril is of some academic interest to us, but Imperial Intelligence does not classify Gilbert as actionably "anti-Imperial" by any means. We hope this reassures you, Lord Robeir.
Regards.
Yeorg Olsen Deputy Director (and Auditor General) of Imperial Intelligence Chief of the Bureau of Operations
