The Empire requires your expertise for an operation of some delicacy. The Empire, as you know, has a permanent representative on the Direx Board of the Corporate Sector Authority, a semi-autonomous amalgam of over 30,000 star systems and an important source of resources for the Empire. Imperial Intelligence has a cell operating within the Corporate Sector, and it has reason to believe that the Imperial representative to the Direx Board, Garth Vimdin, may be siphoning resources and funds to business partners in the Core in a bid to curry support for a possible defection from the Empire to the Corporate Sector Authority or even, possibly, a coup d'état of the Direx Board.
To be honest, Darres, we need someone who is familiar with these sorts of machinations but whose loyalty to the Empire is beyond reproach. You also have a background as a Moff and a background in business and, as far as the Direx Board and Mr. Vimdin are concerned, you would be a logical choice to serve as an adviser to him. And to watch him, of course. But we also want you to make use of Intelligence's resources in the Corporate Sector to unravel the web of corruption that we suspect Mr. Vimdin is orchestrating.
Vimdin must not be accused of any of this, and must not know that we suspect him. His ties may extend deep into Core world industries and we need to find out who among them is supporting his coup. This must be handled delicately, Darres. Do you think you're up for the assignment?

It is problematic to hear that a representative of the Empire is acting in such a matter as to be stealing from the Emperor in any way. I would gladly look into this on behalf of the Emperor and watch this person and his actions. Of course I will act discreetly in this operation and only ask that the vessel I had command of the Imperial Star Destroyer "Verilia" be transferred to this special operations command to allow me to complete the mission to the fullest extent of my abilities.

The Grand Vizier has directed me to answer your question and any questions you have on this assignment. I'll be your 'point man,' as it were, and I'll endeavor to provide you with what you need to make your assignment a success. On the matter of the Star Destroyer Verilia, however, I'm not sure it is advisable. The assignment depends on Mr. Vimdin believing that your resignation as Moff was forced and that your assignment to his staff is a demotion and punishment. Under cover as his "adviser," you wouldn't be expected to have a Star Destroyer under your command, and he must not know of Intelligence's resources in the Corporate Sector or your command of them. The problem with the Verilia is that, with a crew of over 30,000, it isn't well-suited for a covert operation. Secrecy on this scale is simply impossible.
However, it may be possible to change the name of the Star Destroyer and assign it to patrol in the vicinity of the Corporate Sector, available for your use (with Imperial Center's permission) in the event of a major altercation.

| Mr. Olsen,
I have worked with the crew of the Verilia closely, and it would be a great benefit and help easy nerves knowing that a reliable crew would be there at my back. I would sleep better at night knowing that the crew and vessel would be close should I need to call them in, in any event should the operation go south, though I doubt it will. Should I have any other inquires into the operation I will be in contact with your office. My shuttle will be leaving shortly from estate in the Cadavine Sector to bring me to the Corporate Sector.
