| It is with regret, and anger, that I write this statement to inform the general public of an unexpected, unprovoked, heinous and cowardly attack upon Imperial servicemembers by a group calling itself the "Gungan Resistence", led by an individual named Bar Tenko, which claimed the lives of four vehicle drivers, five Scout Troopers, and a total of ten analysts from Imperial Intelligence. It may seem small to some, but this is the first loss of life on Naboo, and the opening attack in what is an obvious campaign of aggression.
Bar Tenko is mentally disturbed individual with delusions of being oppressed, but what is even more shocking is the fact that his people have proceeded to follow him on a suicide mission based upon falsehoods and lies. Make no mistake, despite their misguided nature, the "Gungan Resistance" will pay... the lives of those lost will be avenged. Effective immediately, I am hereby declaring the Lianorm Swamp, Lake Paonga, and the uninhabited regions of the Gallo Mountains as a security zone, and ordering the immediate evacuation of any and all Naboo from the region within twenty-four hours. I strongly recommend following this order to anyone in the effected area.
We must remember those lost. We must remember the blind aggression, hatred and speciesism that is the root cause of this attack. Remember, Queen Kylantha wanted a diplomatic solution to this crisis, and I wholeheartedly agreed. It was I who attempted to work with the Queen and ensure war did not come to Naboo... and it was Bar Tenko and the "Gungan Resistance" that rejected such an offer, and refused to cooperate. We, brothers and sisters of the Empire, have been attacked, and are now under siege, with no idea when the next attack will come, or where, or why. It is my promise, that you will be protected, my brothers and sisters, with whatever means at my disposal. Go to sleep tonight knowing that the Imperial military are the stalwart guardians standing on the wall against the enemy horde. Remember, my brothers and sisters, no one can hide from the Empire and our reach. Remember, my brothers and sisters, it is our unity that gives us strength, and as always, the Empire prevails! Long Live the Empire! Long Live Emperor Palpatine!
