For Immediate Release to the Public and Press

"The Situation on Telos IV"

The Emperor shared the dismay of the people of Telos IV as he, and they, witnessed the planet's (now former) President Thon capitulate to the demands of a pirate—a Mr. "Perry Crass"—to resign as president and appoint Mr. "Crass" himself to the position. Telosians will forever remember (former) President Thon for his cowardice and treason to his world and his people, and the Emperor supports the harshest penalties for him under Telosian law. President Thon's ministers were correct to resign in protest of the appointment of a criminal as the nominal president of their planet, though it appears that the absence of these ministers in the planet's hour of need permitted Mr. "Crass," as the nominal president, to withdraw a significant amount of funds from the planet's treasury and steal Telosian government documents and military hardware.

It is because of these shocking circumstances that the Emperor has lost his confidence in the government of Telos IV, as it is, to represent the needs of its people and planet. At this hour, he has approved the dispatch of the Star Destroyer Benevolent to Telos IV and appointed an Imperial Governor of the planet to assume direct control over Telosian government institutions, to rid its government of compromised and criminal elements, and to restore its credibility in the eyes of its people and the galaxy.

Governor Vordt's first directive is to return all Telosian ships abroad to Telos IV itself, where these ships belong, to assist the Benevolent in defending the planet from any additional attacks from Mr. "Crass," who appears to have escaped Telos IV without recriminations. Imperial Intelligence, meanwhile, shall dedicate itself to the capture of Mr. "Crass" and the return of Telosian property to the Telosian people.

Tremaine Fowlkes shall remain the Senator of Telos IV, as he was reported to be on a diplomatic mission to Sluis Van at the time of President Thon's treasonous appointment of Mr. "Crass" and the political turmoil that ensued. The Emperor calls upon him to support Governor Vordt in his endeavors. And people of Telos IV, know that your government has betrayed you but the Empire has not, and it will not rest until it has repaired the damage that has been done to your economy, military, and to the credibility of your world. Be strong and feal.

Vizier Ars Dangor
Adviser to the Emperor
