To the Minister of Trade c/o the Council of Ministers,

Sir or Sirs, do I understand correctly that the Cronese government has decided it is compulsory for me, a simple merchant on Chandaar, to be a pawn in its political squabble with the multi-stellar blockading forces of Anaxes, et. al.? I run an import/export business, gentlemen. I bring goods to Chandaar and I sell Cronese goods to the rest of the galaxy. As if the blockade and its "toll" on my ships isn't damaging enough to my business, I'm now told that the Cronese government won't even allow me to pay the damn "toll"? And it'll ground any of my ships that attempt to leave and turn away any of my ships that attempt to land? This is outrageous, and it's going to put me and many other merchants on Chandaar out of business.

What possible reason have you to deny us from simply paying the blockade's "toll" so that we can continue with business as more-or-less usual (granted, with a hit to our profits from the "toll")? Why are you making this situation worse for your merchants? If I want to just "exist" on foodstuffs I'd move to Dantooine, but I live and work on Chandaar to make money, and I employ a lot of Cronese people in the process. I ask that you reconsider playing politics with Chandaar's economy and allow civilian traffic to proceed or I'll have no choice but to close down Brenta Imp/Ex for the duration and place all of my workers on unpaid suspension. Know also that if I'm not getting goods to suppliers in Ambaril there's going to be a lot of other mercantiles closing their doors too.

From Hiram Brentioch, your direly concerned citizen,

Hiram Brentioch
Brentaalan Merchant
Manager and CEO of Brenta Imp/Ex Co. (Chandaar)
A man with a schedule to keep.
