Sirs,

Please can the Defense Committee have a succinct report on the person of Mr Alyn Stark of "Vigilance Technologies", specifically if there are any concerns regarding the issuance of a Limited Aurek-class Drone Production License (We intend Committee oversight to be required on each sale). In addition we are providing full readouts of the Drones, and would appreciate your feedback on if they're safe for Planetary Military usage in the opinions of your organizations.

Yours Sincerely,

Bernard Oriel
Senator for the Planet of Vjun
1st Earl Malreaux (Second Creation)
Vjun Delegation to the Imperial Senate

Senator Oriel,

I'm afraid our file on Mr. Stark is not comprehensive. The man maintained a far lower profile until quite recently. His higher profile merits additional scrutiny, and Imperial Intelligence will compile a more comprehensive report for you on Mr. Stark and his company this week. We appreciate your patience, Senator, and support your work.

Respectfully,

Senator Oriel,

I've forwarded to you the preliminary report on Mr. Stark. You will find it on your desk with this memorandum. In summary, Vigilance Technologies, Inc. is in compliance with Imperial law and Mr. Stark's personal record is clean. Intelligence looked into his present and past associations, his personal finances, travel records, and communications logs, and found nothing out of the ordinary (other than his recent arrest on Imperial Center). There are long-dormant suspicions about his rise to the top of the noble House Malos on Lorrd, as his brother (and first-in-line to the Lordship) is known to have died under circumstances that were strange, but not necessarily suspicious. This isn't conclusive, however, or probably of any interest to you.

Imperial Intelligence has serious concerns about these drone designs; namely because of their performance on Imperial Center during the recent droid uprising, in which these droid starfighters—having been ordered to stay out of a no-fly zone—fired on Imperial TIE fighters and then exploded (we're told the drones self-destructed, however it would be highly unusual for them to be programmed to self-destruct in that scenario, and if they were remotely-destructed this raises concerns about who would have done this and why).

Whether or not the Aurek-class license is approved for this design, Intelligence plans to acquire a number of them to reverse-engineer. At that time, we'll know more about their programming and their potential danger to Imperial fighters. For now it can only be said that we don't know about this with any certainty. We currently have an operative on Lorrd who should be able to verify some of the other details in this report (hence it is "preliminary," though I hope it is of use to you in the meantime).

Respectfully,

Yeorg Olsen
Deputy Director (and Auditor General) of Imperial Intelligence
Chief of the Bureau of Operations
