You and I have been long standing friends, despite the differences in race. Sluis Van and Druckenwell have been trading partners for just as long and our worlds have backed each other. I am very suspicious of this so-called Vjun trial of the Sluissi engineers. While I am very hesitant to say any engineers we would send would attempt to sabotage a purchased vessel, I cannot ever say with complete confidence that it did not occur. What I am suspicious of is the fact that Senator Oriel will not make a true move to alter this trial and that we have not heard from the engineer team. This goes against all existing rights in a criminal proceeding.
The people of Sluis Van and the multitude of Sluissi throughout the sector will want a response, if this goes badly, Senator. I am prepared to levy economic sanctions against Vjun for the time being, but if cooler heads do not prevail and I cannot sway the populace with naught but armed conflict, can I count on the backing of your forces?

I too find it odd, but Vjun's proceedings are set the way Vjun has them. Tradition and some such. I don't put much faith in an acid-battered, ill-respected world that has little to show but some tunics and beets. I'm with holding my judgement until I see footage or some proof of the action taken, or a record of the trial from a source that isn't directly under Vjun's thumb. Nonetheless, if an armed conflict comes, the treaties between our worlds will stand firm and Druckenwell will offer support. In the meantime, I suggest you guard your borders carefully and perhaps prepare a few vessels.
