| Greetin's to y'all Ma'am.
Allow me to introduce myself, General Trebor Eel, Commanding Officer of the Khoonda Militia of Dantooine. I'm a blunt spoken man so you'll have to excuse the lack of diplomatic pomp you may be used to.
I think it's time that our worlds started to move toward peace and reconciliation, so that we might put this whole business regarding various.. misdealings in the past.
I'd like to propose the following:
- You all release Amos Moses: I knows you have him, the meedja knows you have him, pretty much everyone in the Galaxy knows. His wife has become very unwell after developing a hernia trying to gather in the crops her husband would usually be bringing in with their young son. It's a very sad business, either way, if you can turn over Amos Moses and perhaps a nominal recompense of a few thousand credits to pay for his wife's medical care and the lost harvest, I'd be most appreciative. If you could turn over the men guilty of this raid (even just one or two) I'll be willing to see to it that Judge Haggart commutes the upcoming death sentence of your captured special forces boys to a prison term, and allow a prisoner exchange for them to return home.
- You guys just make a frank saysorry for what happened. Blame it on faulty intelligence or something, have someone inept kicked out of your military as a scapegoat and I'll be more than willing to shake the hand of your King if he comes on a visit some time. Y'see, I don't think it's at all healthy that your folk and our folk still have bad feeling - bad feeling like that leads to mob disorder like happened with that poor trader of yours.
- We look at closer defense integration between our worlds. We're a lucky world with good soil, and Deralia could do worse than to take our hands as a friend. We could arrange some exchanges of men and sharing of intelligence so awful misunderstandings like the Raid never have to happen again. I'd be open to doing this through you joining our existing alliance or signing a separate pact with Dantooine.
- I fancy it'd be nice to build us a monument hereabouts, on Dantooin' to cement any friendship agreement.

Ma'am,
Unless a major move toward a diplomatic resolution of the greivance between us is made in the next seven days, Dantooine will be forced to call upon its extremely powerful allies (Sluis Van, Druckenwell, Lorrd, Monor II among them) in the RimSec Alliance to pressure your government to bring your world toward a treaty of peace and restoration of all prisoners and hostages.
We warn that ignoring our diplomatic entreaties runs against what the Empire stands for. As a state of war still exists, you must be aware that we have acted with extreme restraint considering the forces deployed to our space conducted Acts of War and threatened our sovereignty. Note we have not issued letters of Marque (as yet) against your shipping, but we leave no option off the table when it comes to Planetary Defense - a war which you are not waging is still a War, and stains your worlds reputation and damages the standing of our government with our people for not prosecuting the war against your people with greater vigour.
Now we have secured our own system by purchasing an extremely capable and effective Defense Monitor, public pressure will turn toward further hostility if the conflict is not quickly resolved amicably (as both you and I (I hope) wish it to be).

I apologize that I have not responded to you as quickly as I should have. Please understand, in my recent step down from power, I am even more left out than before from the circle of power on Deralia. Believe me when I say, I had no knowledge of our Commando raid nor the taking of prisoners. I regret that this action was done to your world when other, less dramatic, means could have brought conclusion to this conflict of ours bloodlessly. I hope that Deralia's lack of continued military or diplomatic action against your world is taken as a sign that Deralia made a mistake in its actions of the past and does not wish for this conflict to continue. Security and peace in the Rim is one of Deralia's foremost goals, and those goals were violated by our actions.
After much debate and discussion among my government, I have received formal authorization to diplomatically interact with your government. Shall we meet in person for our negotiations or conduct them through holo?

Y'all have the Khoonda Militia's protection if you come to Dantooin' in peace for negotiations.

Ma'am
I've been requested to share with you some photographs of our new Defense Cruiser, to make the fact plain and clear that Dantooine now stands ready to defend itself like never before.
I also feel that it would be prudent to conduct our negotiations via holographic communications, as I have found there is discontent in the High Command to see even Deralian escort ships on the edge of the System. Thus perhaps we could continue now?

I trust Dantooine, and was going to call off an escort of my craft for our meeting. If negotiation by holo is more convenient for you, that is fine; but, please, do not let baseless fear be cause to issuance of threats and an uncooperative stance. I am a sympathetic individual, General, however I do, like any other being, have limits; and I must still represent, in good faith, the best interests of my world.
Before we continue, I must have answered, why is the military leadership and not the Head of State of Dantooine, negotiating with Deralia?

| In time of war, on Dantooine it's traditional for men of war to be delegated the power to make peace.
The Administrator has delegated that power to me.
Our requirements are as follows
- Normalisation of relations to the Status Quo Ante Bellim
- An apology from Deralia and a reciprocal declaration of recognition of Dantooinian sovereignty over our system.
- The creation of a joint managed charity fund to pay for the upkeep of the widows and children of the dead from the Deralian raid, to compensate the parties involved and those injured - funded by Deralia
- Release of all prisoners.
- Establishment of a Deralian Consulate in Garang to prevent future misunderstandings.
- A reciprocal statement of amity, intention to move forward from the incident and to cooperate in future for the good of the Empire.
Is there any difficulty with these terms? They seem generous to me, they create peace with honour and secure the livelihoods of the many of my people killed in the raid. Dantooine does not seek profit here - just equity.

Thank you for the clarification. For Deralians, for Generals to be involved in negotiations, said negotiations are typically held on the battlefield in our modern era. These requirements are sound. Before I submit a counter-offer, may I have a list of the victims the General refers to?

Perhaps my small worlds military system confuses you, I am only a General by virtue of my Republic Service rank which the Militia has honourarily elected to recognize, my official pay grade and substantive rank is that of Colonel as is traitional the Khoonda Militia, we're a small world and don't have what you'd call a "Diplomatic Corps" (we've got the good Administrator Ray, but as this is a fundamentally military matter, and I am a Core University Graduate I am better versed to conduct negotiations in a conciliatory manner than the Administrator who is shall we say.. less well versed in the high manners of negotiation).
The casualties names I don't have on my table at this moment but will have them forwarded if a fund is established. The casualties consist of eight militiamen, fourteen non-combatant casualty who were made up of a dozen irregulars in their speeders and a pair of passers by who happened to be standing at the roadside at the wrong time. When the fund is established we'll be happy to produce a full list of names, video proof from the police speeders cameras and autopsy reports etc.
I'm a straight up military man though and even with this the case have little aptitude for extensive and fancy negotiations - I've stated our position and requirements honestly, and I hope Deralia will recognize that I'm being more than fair in this matter.

Thank you for the extensive clarification on the matter. I apologize if I have made any offense, as none was intended on the matter. As you pointed out, I was merely confused.
Deralia shall agree to all terms set forth by Dantooine, on the condition:
• Dantooine agrees to be an approving vote for Deralia's admittance into RimSec should Deralia so apply.
In addtion, Deralia proposes:
• Deralia shall contribute seven million credits per victim of the Deralia-Dantooine Conflict, with a one million lump sum payment followed by annual three-hundred thousand credit payments over a twenty year annuity; each victim must be confirmed with full name, law enforcement accounting, and autopsy reports. The payment shall be delivered to next-of-kin. Should more than one adult qualify for such payment, payment shall be divided equally among all adult next-of-kin, with any remainder from division to be granted to spouse or youngest claimant.
• Deralia shall fund the erection of a monument outside the Khoonda Government Complex noting of the reaching of peace between Deralia and Dantooine.
• Dantooine shares all intelligence regards the People's Liberation Front of Dantooine, the People's Liberation of the Outer Rim, the Garang Irregulars, and any and all anti-Deralian elements on the planet of Dantooine and the Raioballo Sector.
