| Dear Reuke Cambrist,
I've opened a business venture to export some of the teeming masses from the Core (about damn time I say!). Personally, I think this venture is a gold mine for the company (and naturally it's investors). Even assuming the company settles only Acherin, that guarantees us an income of 276,000,000 Credits per month (and saves these well monied bankers from having to do manual labour, presumably).
The average shipping rate to Acherin aboard passenger liners (bearing in mind it's remote location) is around 4,000 Credits a head - assuming stops at several major ports as there is currently no direct Acherin-core route. The company, taking into account the free passengers in the form of children relocated free with both parents, will be 4,416 per head on average on it's 62,500 mandated passenger run which theoretically offers them the very cheap cost compared to standard transport of 416 credits a head to manage who is selected for relocation and cover the initial health check required.
I've no doubt we could well do a fine trade shipping gutter trash out to other Outer Rim Worlds in need of a boosted population or simply wanting to expand.
In the short term, I'll operate the route with an old Hoersch-Kessel Drive Design (I hope to initially rent off the Corporate Sector but as you've no doubt heard on the grapevine (and seen in their share price buoying lately) that I have further aspirations regarding this company in future, and would not rule out the line ordering a custom-built passenger vessel based on one of their designs.
We're predicting a pre-tax income of around three point three billion Imperial Credits. The actual costs (renting a ship for three months, then purchasing one, consumables etc), taxation and so on deducted, we expect to make a net profit of around two billion Imperial Credits a year just off the Acherin contract. This rate does not account for possible trade, goods or passengers carried on the return journey to Imperial Center, even accounting for 96m3 of cargo for each passenger (massively above what they'll carry) a Core ship can still carry sixty million cubic meters more - I fancy with careful wrangling I could snare us the contract to also supply the Acherin military industrial complex with resources aboard the colony ships - bringing in further lucre to the contract. Perhaps it is with good reason these vessels were named Lucre-hulks, for indeed they have the potential to be great engines of finance if steered deftly.
Naturally, two billion isn't a lot in the great scheme of things per year, and I can't guarantee there'd be any more than this initial contract (as further trade along the route is speculative at this stage). So I'd like to offer to cut you (or your choice of third party) in to the tune of 25% of the company's stock for 25% of the first year's operating profit (half a billion Imperial credits) value - we have four subsequent years guaranteed too and an option to renew the contract.
