Governor Shirnoq,

It has come to the notice of the Ruling Council that "Vianism," a pagan and potentially anti-Imperial religion, is disturbingly prevalent in the Kanz Sector, in particular among the Argazdan, Sipsk'ud, and Lorrdian peoples. There is, we agree, no power greater than the Empire, but these "Vianists" worship a pantheon of gods and goddesses that function as metaphors for an interpretation of the so-called "Force" that is common to the Jedi Order. Indeed, Vianism has encouraged use (rather, misuse) of the Force on numerous occasions in history.

A crucial tenet of the New Order, as you know, is the promulgation of Human High Culture. Imperial Center has turned a blind eye to the cultural eccentricities of the Lorrdians and Argazdans, but this "Vianism" is a cancer that must be cut out of the Kanz Sector. Rid your people of it through whatever means necessary, Moff Shirnoq. The Ruling Council is confident that it will see immediate, demonstrable progress from you on this matter.

Regards from Imperial Center,

Sate Pestage
Grand Vizier of the Empire
Assistant to Emperor Palpatine
Chair of the Imperial Senate

Grand Vizier Pestage,

Vianism is indeed a concern of mine, rest assured. While largely constrained to the Argazdans, I do admit there are other peoples who still hold to some of its tenets. I am happy to report, at least, that Lorrd is all but free of Vianism in the current day and age, save for a sect known as the 'Sisterhood of the Glorious Radiance' based out of a temple on Lorrd II. My agents have worked quite hard to ensure that Vianism is not spread to the majority of the Lorrdian people, who do indeed embrace Human High Culture.

I intend to contact Argazdan Prime Minister S'nar about this issue; his file reads that he is not a religious man. From what I know about him, he will surely do his best to stamp out the issues Vianism causes upon Argazda.

The only issue I see in conversion may come from the Sipsk'ud, who are alien and quite set in Vianism. If need be, I am prepared to take armed action against them in the form of a blockade to force them to renounce their religion, but I feel a gentle hand may work better than an iron fist to begin with.

If you have any suggestions, I am open to them.

Regards,

Kanzad Shirnoq
Moff, Kanz Sector

Governor Shirnoq,

Your prompt attention to this matter is appreciated. I have forwarded to your office the Imperial Intelligence dossier on "Vianism," which describes the religion as, and I quote, "mainstream" among Argazdans and Lorrdians. It is practiced openly on both Argazda and Lorrd in addition to the Sipsk System. Please update your understanding of this religion and its prevalence in the Kanz Sector and communicate to your people—dramatically, if need be—the Empire's intolerance for this subversive set of beliefs.

Sincerely,

Sate Pestage
Grand Vizier of the Empire
Assistant to Emperor Palpatine
Chair of the Imperial Senate

Grand Vizier Pestage,

Steps have been taken to curtail Vianist activities on Lorrd, Argazda and amongst the Sipsk'ud. The Sipsk'ud, I fear, have decided to slaughter hundreds of thousands of believers in what is rapidly degenerating into a horrific genocide. Naturally, with them being non-Human, I'm inclined to turn a blind eye to the mass slaughter; the Sipsk'ud have never been, to my knowledge, exceptionally productive in any real manner, but they've always paid their taxes on time. I am inclined however to intervene in a matter of days if the slaughter is not stopped, largely because they could still serve as an able workforce if outsourced properly. Let me know your thoughts.

Regards,

Kanzad Shirnoq
Moff, Kanz Sector
