Lord Bowe,

While I understand we are both following Imperial edict and necessity in removing the issue of Vianism from Lorrd, I would be eternally grateful if you didn't manage to chase your Vianists into my province. I'm handling things a little differently; a little quieter if you will, and an influx of refugees just causes so many more issues than I like to deal with. After all, I have my public image to maintain and having to export crying masses is not good for one's public image.

Regards,

Alyn,

You'd be surprised! I certainly was to receive plaudits from as far as Imperial Center for the Frezen Province's handling of the Vianist issue. If my methods are more severe than yours, it is only in proportion to Frezen's permissiveness of Vianists in the past—a cautionary tale, perhaps. I find them to be unobjectionable people, personally, but this is a time of reckoning for their closed-minded ways.

Nonetheless, Alyn, I take very seriously the territorial integrity of my province and it is natural that you should be concerned with yours as well. Rest assured it is not my intention to "chase my Vianists into your province." To the contrary, these serial law-breakers are leaving the Frezen Province in defiance of an edict requiring a visa to do so—I appreciate your forces turning them back and I'll endeavor to do the same, as you've probably gathered from recent news. Hopefully, now that the Kinyov Province has also made known its inhospitality to Vianists, those of the Frezen Province will resign themselves to their fate or else recant their Vianism.

But do take heart, Alyn. Surely doing one's duty to the Empire is never bad for one's image. It seems to have done wonders for mine.

Mirabile dictu,

Jareth Bowe
Lord of the Frezen Province

Lord Bowe,

Recanting Vianism is an option I've pursued more fully than, say, the Sipsk'ud. Granted, having watchers of a sort tends to make people nervous, and I do not want the Kinyov Province declared as an inhospitable place of living, but such is the signs of the times.

While doing duty for the Empire is always good for one's image, I daresay it's also in the execution as opposed to blindly following headlong. At the end of the day, I feel I'll be remembered more fondly than, shall we say, this Chief Coach Bom'bay Gor-Don who will be remembered for his massacre.

Any Vianists captured in the Kinyov Province will be remanded to your forces at the border. I trust there will be no accidents between our troops; I don't want any trigger-happy soldiers shooting some foolish Vianists when my forces are on the other side of the line of fire. I understand this goes both ways as well, and I have cautioned the Kinyov Defense Forces to avoid any incidents of fratricide. If anything, if our people are shooting to kill something has gone terribly wrong.

All of this will blow over soon though, once Vianism is off Lorrd. Lorrd II is another matter of course, but the Ruling Houses, as you know, don't consider it part of our jurisdiction.

Regards,
