| Your Majesty,
I'm writing to you because I am aware that you, our distant cousins on Deralia, are fielding a Venator-class vessel which is now pretty outdated. We'd be happy to offer 50% off upgrading it's avionics and computers to modern cutting edge standards, and could also fit a selection of exclusive Rothana-only subsystems we've developed on other craft to make it one of the most sophisticated warships in service.
On another matter, you consider switching your CR90s for a pair of Rothana Heavy Corvettes and perhaps a Peregrine-class Fast Picket, then we'd be prepared to offer a two year warranty covering parts and labour for repairs. You'd be getting more firepower from the two Rothana Corvettes than you currently have from the CR90s, and a Peregrine would provide you with a faster option with state of the art defensive systems and the fastest hyperdrive commercially available - if you did require a ship as a courier to literally "run" Blockades.
If there are any holes in our selection, or ships you'd like to see, just let us know and we'll refer it to our design teams.

The Deralian Venator Upgrade and Modification Proposal
The Monarch-class Star Destroyer (Upgraded Venator)
Current weapons Standard Venator weapons except: Eight (8) Medium Dual Turbolaser Turrets replacing the eight (8) Heavy Turbolasers, with terracing added Addition of 40 Light Turbolaser Turrets Heavy SPHA Turbolaser Cannon installed in Ventral Hangar Bay
Proposed upgrade: DBY-827 heavy dual turbolaser canons in the new "Deescalation" turret (8) allowing faster pivoting and greater accuracy, while improving armour and reducing it's target profile - This returns the ship to its former firepower as the regulations regarding these weapons was dropped. Medium dual turbolaser cannons (2) - We'd like to tear out the originals and replace them with a longer barreled but slower to reposition design of Medium Turbolaser, giving it a 75% (!) increase in range and making them especially useful for firing warning shots or at fleeing vessels. KDD2055 dual short-range turbolaser turrets (10) - A better use of the power used up by the 40 LTLs, freeing up power for alternative systems while still giving an incredibly potent close range barrage that has twice the rate of fire of the standard industry models. Point Defense Laser Cannons (12) DBY-666 "Problem Solved" Turrets (12) (these are Linked Light Tractor Beam, Light Warhead and Quadlaser Turrets. Each carrying 20 Light Concussion Missiles in the turret, with 20 further for each available in the internal Magazine with a 5 minute reload time.) Although demanding on power, these turrets are incredibly versatile and allow a gunner (with automated assistance) to lock on with a Tractor beam and then fire his alternative weapon systems. The Advanced Computer suite that comes with these is optimized to target objects even as small as a human head and eliminate them with pinpoint precision, the tactical computer plugs into the ship's main Sensor arrays as well as the micro arrays in each turret and is able to track up to 300 targets at any one time, and in less than a microsecond prioritize the targets by threat and assign targets to the gunners. These turrets would outperform the fourty removed Point Defense Lasers by 400% and are ideal for combating drones and snubfighters. Heavy Proton Torpedo Launchers (2) - Two of these removed. Each remaining one shall carry ten torpedoes each, and also shall have the capacity to Sensor Probes, of which four shall be aboard. Heavy forward facing Ion Cannon (2) - Two of these added in lieu of the Torpedoes - all vessels seem to seek a non-lethal edge these days and these would pack an impressive punch that wouldn't blow the target to pieces in the manner of torpedoes. Tractor beam projectors (6) - We'd add reinforcing to the bulkheads around the protectors allowing you to hold larger targets without damaging the arrays. Hangar bay retractable XX-9 Dual Heavy Turbolaser Tower
Computer Systems Current: Standard Venator System Proposed: LeGrange Advanced Warfare Computer as mounted on the Imperial I-class. Additionally, Rothana Microtech "Problemsolver" computer to link into DBY-666 Turrets and provide an extreme improvement in anti fighter capacity. Navicomp to be fine-tuned to allow slightly higher tolerance to gravity wells - allowing the ship to jump in 10% closer to a planet or large mass than ships without this sophisticated algorithm programmed in.
Engine Management Current: Venator Standard Proposed: Specialist engine tune-up. Replacement of the standard two secondary Engines with the Cygnus Spaceworks Gemon-4 ion engine found on the Imperial I-class. We estimate the Venator could then reach 1000 kph in atmosphere and 55 MGLT in space (only 5 MGLT less than an Imperial-I class) while being able to corner much quicker than larger ships such as the Imperial-class.
Boarding Defense Systems Current: Standard blaster bulkheads, blast doors. Proposed: Pike Anti Boarding Suite (Custom made), drop down blasters at all intersections, to be replaced by one in every twenty intersections with a pop up CREWS (coherent radiation emitting weapon) device in specially magnetized and reinforced corridors. Reinforced bulkheads and blast doors. Shield bulkheads. Crew panic rooms in each bulkhead, requiring fingerprint access but allowing crew to take shelter from borders until marines arrive or use the weapons held in these "Micro-armouries". Gravitational modification decks on all critical corridors - allowing you to increase gravity to several times normal and crush borders, or fluctuate it and induce nausea.
Fighters Current Fighters - two (2) squadrons of ARC-170 Starfighters, three (3) squadrons of Alpha-3 Numbus-class V-Wings, three (3) squadrons of V-19 Torrent Starfighters Proposed numbers: Really down to you here, we could switch them out for mode modern ones if you'd like but otherwise this seems a solid enough selection. The V-19 torrents are absolutely huge and lack proper lasers though - it is my professional opinion that they'd be better replaced with the A-7 Hunter Interceptor which is more compact and now the TIE Fighter is becoming more common, you'd have a craft which outperforms the standard TIE in every way, and while it lacks torpedoes, you've got dedicated bombers aboard which bear heavy weapons but need interceptors to protect them - I believe the A-7 is the ideal choice and we'd be willing to offer to trade your old V-19s for A-7s at no additional charge to yourselves. The ARC-170 is a solid choice if a little dated. The BTL-B Twin Seater Y-Wing has arguably greater firepower and more flexibility in the turret, it can also deploy proton bombs which might help expand the role of your craft for ground strafing runs. That said, all the Koensayr Bombers suffer from being slower than the income alternatives, but have the advantage of requiring fewer crew and less maintenence. It's an unconventional suggestion, but I hear Cygnus Spaceworks actually is creating a line of heavy bombers and it's possible we could have them pitch their newest designs to you? Either way, one for you to decide.
Communications Current: Standard array Proposed: Boosted Rothana Anti-Jamming Comms Set - This would mean that it would take at least 2 vessels to jam the comms of your Venator-class thanks to its rotating communication bands and protocols - also cryptographically impossible to decode within a reasonable timeframe with modern military technology. Back up comms dish held internally and deployable if main comms array is damaged.
Shields Current: Standard Venator Shields Proposal: Supplementing the standard setup with a ISD-72x deflector shield generator dome placed in a niche in between the two bridge towers, projecting a stronger deflector field about that section of the ship and giving sensors a boost.
Hull Current: Standard Proposed: Reinforced hull bracing allowing greater manouverability within gravity wells, increased resistance to impacts or ramming on the main body of the craft.
Blue Sky Idea for the Hull
As you use less fighters on this ship than the original (thanks to Senate Directives placing restrictions) you don't need to launch so many ships so quickly. Why not have the rear half of the door sealed closed so only the front half opens, reducing the open belly created when launching craft. To save space at the now congested front, one would remove the SPHA-T and replace it with a retractable barbette tower carying a XX-9 Heavy Dual Turbolaser, this could be on a telescopic mounting so usually below the floor of the hangar, but which can be jacked up in several seconds to prototude outside the hangar (or may be kept inside the hangar and fire out). This would save on crew and be much easier to keep in good condition than these older SPHA platform you have mounted (which after all is not able to pivot or aim with nearly the same dexterity as the XX-9 Heavy Dual Turbolaser that is roughly equivalent in firepower).
Plus, since it'd likely be retracted by default, if raiders landed in the hangar, it could of course telescope up and destroy their craft in seconds, cutting out the boarding threat via that route.
Let me know what you think. We are confident that with these upgrades (and perhaps some new compliment craft) you'd have a ship only equalled by the likes of the Imperial-class ships. In every respect this upgrade program would improve the ship and bring it up to the standard of ships being produced new now - from anti-pirate duties to capital ship duels, long or short range, this ship will have the edge.
