Dear Sir,

As you requested a preview of the units we will be bringing to the showing late next week, here is the line-up as currently shown.

Designation: LE-6889 Mk. III Bombardment System
Height: 52 meters
Length: 53 meters (from tip of muzzle)
Weight: 1,300 tons
Maximum Speed: 20 km/h
Armor: Durasteel plating
Armament:
  • 914mm bombardment cannon
  • 8x mounts for E-web anti-infantry blasters
  • 2x Canister launchers (concealed in knees, single shot and used when at rest)

Crew:
  • 2x Pilot
  • 2x Gunner
  • 8-12x Troops

Information: The LE-6889 bombardment system is a behemoth of a weapon system. It is neither extremely maneuverable or extremely fast, nor is it heavily armed for up-close deterrent, requiring either troop backup, anti-air platforms or some form of assistance to be deployed alongside it. The point of the system, however, is when in land warfare, to be able to decimate and demoralize any target within the system's sixty-mile range. Capable of firing a number of shell types from solid shot, high explosive, light nuclear any comparable Vigilance Technologies round, the bombardment system can even cover a single grid of 1 kilometer by one kilometer with KE Submunitions, leading some to refer to it as the 'grid square remover.' It's range is what makes this system quite fearsome, with a capacity to reach even into high-orbit with its solid-shot weapons. The downside, of course, is a lack of shielding and a lack of beam-based weaponry.

---

Designation: LE-VTDS Mk. I 'Decimator'
Height: 8 meters
Width: 4 meters
Weight: 1,814 kg
Maximum Speed: 65 km/h
Armor: Durasteel plating with pressed gel between plates.
Shielding: LE 509-P Omnidirectional shield (three second drop to fire weapons)
Countermeasures: LE ScanJammer sensor jamming system
Armament:
  • Six-barrel assault cannon (left arm)
  • Heavy anti-vehicular laser cannon (right arm)
  • Four-barrel anti-personnel rapid-fire blaster (front mounted)
  • Three-barrel varied-payload launching system (mounted over right shoulder)
  • 2x articulated grasping arms

Crew:
  • 1x Pilot

Information: Blending the line between walker and powered armor, though leaning towards walker, the Variable Threat Deterrent System is a small walker as they go, but versatile in its methods of engagement which include a well-rounded weapon load-out as well as a personal shield for getting up-close or to a target spot. Fast and deadly, perhaps one of the most interesting facets of the walker is the manipulator arms that work as dexterously as human hands, allowing for greater mission parameters than simply sweep and clear. While some might argue this walker would benefit special forces better than a line unit, they are mistaken. The training is exceptionally easy for any human to grasp and the use of the suit in a multitude of roles including fire support, suppression, trench-clearing or medical evacuation makes it a must-have for any front-line unit.

We have one more unit that will be shortly forthcoming.

Regards,

Paul Donovan

Major,

While the design teams at Lorrd Engineering have received my applause for what they've come up with, I must say, I felt the irge to take a personal hand in at least one design. While the design itself will be produced by Lorrd Engineering's Groundworks department, this creation of this walker from the ground up has been largely myself and assembled here in the Kinyov Province at some personal cost. Nonetheless, I feel you will enjoy this. I should caution you, Major, that this particular design is not the cheapest; it is hardly the most expensive, mind you, but if it is a truly quality product you seek, then this walker is sure to catch your eye. Therefore, without further ado, let me present:

Designation: SDC Blackout Mk. I
Height: 15 meters
Width: 11 meters
Weight: 470 tons
Maximum Speed: 53 km/h
Armor: Reactive durasteel plating
Shield Generator: LE Aegis defense shield (drop to fire, five seconds to raise)
Countermeasures: VT InvisaScan tactical sensor jamming device
Armament:
  • 2x DBY-631 turbolasers (capable of striking ships in high orbit; one per arm, capable of drawing directly from the powerplant for increased strikes at cost of temporary loss of shield and inability to maneuver)
  • 2x 406mm bombardment cannons (one per shoulder, twelve rounds per cannon, maximum range of twenty-three miles)
  • 1x Turreted rapid-fire anti-infantry blaster cannon (mounted center below cockpit)
  • 2x Partial-turret anti-vehicle heavy laser cannon (mounted below cockpit)
  • 2x Partial-turret anti-air heavy laser cannon (mounted above cockpit)

Crew:
  • 1x Pilot
  • 1x Co-pilot
  • 3x Gunner
  • 2x Repair droid

Information: The SDC Blackout Mk. I provides what the Empire needs on any front line: a hard-hitting, fortified redoubt-destroying walker capable of non-line of sight bombardment that can decimate both hardened positions or infantry and even medium troop movements from a distance in which conventional units cannot hope to range. As if this were not enough, the modified twin turbolaser cannons are capable of line-of-sight spot-on destruction and even anti-orbital capability with the option to forgo shields and maneuvering in favor of tapping into the walker's reactor for a nearly forty-percent increase in destructive power. Furthermore, it retains capacity for self defense against snubfighters and aircraft, as well as infantry and vehicles. The downside, of course, is a lower walking speed and a much, much heavier chassis that is nonetheless stable despite its armament. Powerful legs and motivators, coupled with a greatly improved stability system, provide that this walker will not be easily toppled, even in the event it must somehow limp from any battlefield.

As you can see, Major, I have taken a personal hand in the design of this system and as Mr. Donovan has informed me, you wish my presence at Carida, which I and Mrs Stark will gladly attend. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me directly.

Regards,

Major,
Might I inquire as to how may days more there are until the walker showing? I intend to go and retrieve the designs within the week and see them stowed for transport.

Al ,

How lovely to see this message, I'll have to apologize for being so late. It's been a hectic day. Trials are due to start within 48 hours I am afraid, this message was delayed in the system for whatever reason and only arrived this morning. The initial examinations will probably be tomorrow afternoon, and tests the next day.

Just so you are aware, you'll be required to sign the following wavier.

"These vehicles, their components and servicing kits, as well as the containers in which they are delivered do hereby, henceforth and perpetually belong to the Imperial Army, to be retained at present in the Imperial Academy at Carida. Reproduction will not be executed without the permission of the former owner, who shall retain all intellectual material and technological patents on the devices."

This refers to the fact that all models tested will be retained for training and research purposes. Should any component of the unit tested prove useful in future the initial supplier will have preference to be the producer of the component for the Empire, if the initial supplier is unable to fulfill such a contract then he shall instead receive a royalty on his component as set in place by patent law.

Please transmit the training manuals and programs to operate your units. We'll have trained operators ready within a day (so long as the controls on all are relatively simple and conventional).

(From Carida)

You will find the manuals contained within this message. All systems have been optimized for ease of use and training and I agree to the wavier. I look forward to seeing you on Carida.
