Sesk silently cursed the walker for not being able to move faster, and woefully remembered the fast-sprinting AT-RT's that were seeing less and less use these days. Still, he'd be glad of the protection this closed-cockpit vehicle offered if any blaster shots or debris came his way.
He turned the walker down the alley, leaving himself barely enough room to turn around if need-be, but he was no longer thinking so far ahead. The gatling gun mounted on the left side was spewing fire into anything the Commander deemed a viable target, which at this point, was anything that got in his way, as he headed for the building he'd seen his troops pouring into.

With no concern for their lives, he rounded on the small house, the left leg of the walker caving in the weak front of another house as it turned, then opened fire on the house, not with the gatling gun, but with the grenade launcher. He fired one, two, three grenades at the small hovel, depleting his stock of explosives in the vain attempt to rid himself of his Jedi problem.
Red sighting beams picked out the details of the destruction, his snipers, perched up in the ruins now, seeking their target but to no avail. One of them, thinking they'd spotted the erstwhile Jedi, fired off a single, focused bolt, but hit nothing but rubble.
"Keep searching" Sesk snapped into the loudspeaker, no longer bothering with the discretion of private communications. He also quite fancied the commanding tone that the loudspeaker lent to his voice, booming it throughout the ruined city.

He once again rounded the walker to exit the alley, completing the destruction of the house that he'd trodden on, and resuming the hunt for rebels. The Jedi couldn't possibly have survived that... could he?

Trask sensed the danger coming and slipped out one of the windows before the blasts ever came. Even as the house exploded behind him he knew he would have to play it close to the chest. He would use a cranny to focus for a moment letting the force flow through his body turning his body up a notch. It was something he hadn't tried and so long and wasn't an expert at it to begin with but it was something he knew how to do. A moment later he would appear in the alley way once again almost like he was a whack-a-mole. Disappearing in one place only to reappear elsewhere..although he would make sure he was seen before taking off faster than he should have been able to.

The force speeding his movements, his mind, and his reflexes. It would help him avoid that gattling gun since he would be weaving in and out attempting to draw the commander and his AT-STh with him and with speeds that would make it almost beyond impossible for the snipers to get a lock on where he was going as he himself really had no idea and was just running where the force guided him.

That momentary lapse in concentration cost Sesk his reputation, in his own eyes. How could he have underestimated his opponent so?
He moved the clunky, gainly vehicle into position to continue assailing the Jedi with his gatling gun, but he saw no progress. Every time he fired, the Jedi popped up somewhere else, impossibly fast and infuriatingly slippery.

"All units, close in on my walker. I'm following the target. We'll trap the Jedi in a pincer, and see him try to slip from that" he rasped into his comm; his throat was becoming hoarse from all the yelling. If the Jedi was on the run, he must have realised the Empire had brought a decent force to bear on this town, perhaps too much for the Force user to handle.
Pushing onward, Sesk shut off the gatling gun for now, reserving power for when he had the Jedi clear in his sights. Instead, he relied on the twin 'chin'-mounted turrets, and the sheer weight of the walkers feet crashing down on the terrain to clear a path. Whenever the Jedi appeared, he fired off lethal bolts of energy, though after a while he began to realise his efforts were futile. He wasn't going to harm the Jedi in this sort of battlefield; he needed to continue driving him on, toward a clearer zone, though in this ruined town, that was nigh-on impossible.

Meanwhile, troopers, walkers and speeder bikes from around the city were coming in from all sides, presenting a near-impenetrable front which was slowly pincering the area around Sesk and his target. Eventually, they'd all converge on one position, and if all went well, the Jedi pest would be caught in the middle of them.

Trask would lead the man to the hulk of a building letting him think that he was on the run. Trask would move on into the lobby leaving the imperials to group outside. To let them think they had him cornered..after all there was only one street side entrance to the building and everything else was in direct line of the TIE fighters. He doubted they would be overly willing to chase in after him one at a time and had no intention of just surrendering.

"Is it set up?" he asked into the microphone to the rebel leaders. "It is..now General..what is your plan.."

"Prepare to detonate on my mark..I just hope you placed them where I told you to." He said feeling a bit nervous about this part. He didn't have a long time but luckily the building was thick and would in all likely hood be able to withstand without much devastation the damage he was about to bring on it. Let the forces gather outside and let them think they had won.

"My dear commander it seems we are at an impasse." Trask would send over the comms to further irritate the man to push him into a greater recklessness.

The battallion that had assailed the city, for what felt like the shortest battle of Sesk's career, finally converged on a lone building. Or, Sesk mused, what remained of a building. Another dilapidated sarcophagus, a memorial to tragedies past, soon to be erased from the face of the planet to be replaced with glorious Imperial-standard architecture, ushering a new age and expelling these dregs of society.

His floodlights scoured the exposed floors of the building, penetrating the smoke and ozone that had drifted over the town, picking out lines of scaffold, exposed beams... but no Jedi. There was nowhere else for him to go, so he must be inside, hiding somewhere.
Just as he was about to address the irritant who'd led him on a chase halfway across the dead city, a voice crackled over his comm.
He growled, and the noise carried out of the open viewports to the troops below, who shifted uncomfortably. They'd seen their commanding officer angry before, but it was usually cordial, respectful yet venemous. The same way the Commander had tried to assimilate the locals to his vision, to the Empire's vision; with polite rebuttal, calm words laced with venom. But of course, that had escalated into the commencing battle, and so the Commander's temper had finally gotten the better of him.

"Damn you Jedi, I'm gonna rip you a new hole, even if I have to stick this kriffing gatling gun up your behind to do it!!!"
Tossing the comm out of the forward viewport, he activated the loudspeaker, and addressed his troops;
"OPEN FIRE!"

"Well.." Trask said opening both comms. "Mark." It was a single word and one that might ring something in the mind of the commander. One said mark when they wanted to activate something. Even as the word echoed through the minds of the imperials in their moment of victory, of eliminating another jedi there was something off. In the underground a commander would press a button condemning the Imperials to a messy demise.

At the height of their triumph a series of explosions would occur in the upper levels of the building and they would be forced to watch helplessly as the building began to tilt over the street and down towards the units below.

Sesk felt the blood drain from his face; frozen in the futility of his situation, his finger tight on the trigger of his gatling gun, he watched as the ruined building before him began to crash down, casting a huge shadow over him and his forces. All too late, he realised his mistake; the Jedi hadn't been running, he'd been baiting him, and in the process, had managed to get the entire assault force into one convenient location. Whether by design or not, Sesk had to admire the fatal beauty of his opponents plan.
Fleetingly, he wished he'd had the opportunity to play the Jedi at dejarik. He didn't doubt he'd be a truly challenging opponent.

His last thoughts, as he instinctively turned the walker around faster than it was supposed to go, and felt the machine topple to the ground on its broken servomotors, were of how he'd be remembered as the Commander that single-handedly lost an army to one Jedi and a bunch of disorganised street-rats. That, and how he'd never be subjected to the fetid air of Tiroth again.
His head smacked into the side of the cockpit, which immediately caved in around him, a large metal beam punching through it and pinning him to the ground through his chest. He was dead instantly.

The fleeing troops fared no better; those that managed to escape the falling tower were thrown wide by the sheer impact as it smashed into the ground, landing splayed and contorted, killed by the shockwave.
AT-ST's exploded as they were struck, some toppling onto speeder bikes as they tried to take off, others being slammed forward and crushing the troops that were too slow to escape the impact.

As the dust settled, all that remained were a handful of troopers, who were all too horror-struck to think of fighting, and the TIE's which hadn't yet been harassed by the commandeered AT-ST. Things had, indeed, gotten ugly.

Trask would allow himself a moment's rest out of the back of the building a large hole behind him from where his lightsaber had carved neatly through it. He knew this was not over, there were still the sounds of the AT-ST he had captured firing on the TIE fighters in the air, with the shouts of men into the comm channels on the rebels side, the imperials were eerily quiet, he knew the cause but something deep inside of him stirred feeling guilt at the deaths of so many, necessary as they may have been. Slowly he would rise up from the ground to lower himself onto a knee to say a silent prayer to the gods he knew and to those he didn't in hopes that one of the men who now lay dead by his hand had worshiped that deity and would find some peace in the force when they joined with it.

There was no penance to be had for such an act as he had forced a man's hand. If it had been one on one the commander and his soldiers may have still been alive but something told him he would of had to of done that anyways. In the end what was done was done and there was no going back now. Slowly he would rise to his feet again drawing the comm to the rebels up to his lips, wetting them before he spoke. "Any one who wishes to retreat and live should rendezvous at my position." it was an odd statement for someone who had just so apparently won a battle. There were shouts of indignation at his suggestion they should retreat though a few would simply ask why they should.

"This is not over." he replied to those. "When the ship in space learns of this..they will bombard this city and turn it into a molten crater..no one down here will survive." The response he got was overwhelming, they thought that the empire would simply cut their losses in this battle but Trask knew better they were fooling themselves. "I will transport anyone who wants to leave." he knew almost none would show up so he would simply signal his ship to come and pick him up. He would give them a chance to arrive but odds were none would. So he was relatively surprised when a manhole opened up nearby and a small group of men climbed out. "Well come with you general..we owe you that much."

It had been a long time since he had been called that face to face by a soldier. So long since he'd had the lives of so many dependent on him for leadership and guidance. But even so it felt right. This was what he was meant to do and even as his ship came in low over the horizon he smiled a bit. And even as it settled in front of them and opened its ramp he knew he was making the right decision. He would become the bane of the Empire, a face of resistance even if that face was going to be hidden behind a mask, a voice for those who want to rebel even though that voice would be changed.

He would be the last aboard the ship and it would begin to move leaving him to his thoughts as it flew along the surface skimming at a high speed before taking off towards space. They had gotten out of the range of the Star Destroyer's guns as fast as possible before ascending and would not be returning to Imperial Center directly instead would go to a shady world and would have the transponder signals of the ship changed just in case someone had thought to record it. As the crew looked back through one of the view ports they could see the star destroyer's guns blazing with red bolts pounding into the ruins of the city. It would be the second bombardment in ten years and this time..there would be no survivors.

Trask looked away shaken by the image just as the ship lurched forward accelerating into hyperspace leaving the city behind. More blood to add to his hands which were already drenched.
