| Vax nodded in approval as Caden checked out the vessel. He had been right: the boy was either a well-trained pilot or a natural. Vax himself had already given the ship a once-over, declaring it space-worthy but it never hurt to have a second opinion. He was however, going to have a talk with Caden about the young man's visions. It was apparent he'd seen something. As Vax shouldered his satchel of belongings, he headed for the ramp, stopping only when he heard...

| ... the snap-hiss of a lightsaber blade igniting. There, behind the two men, the faceless form of Rath Deschain watched them almost curiously as they prepared to board the shuttle. They hadn't been overly hard to find; between all the Force abilities Caden had used and the sale of two ships, both rather distinct, it had been a matter of reasoning out which vessel they were likely to purchase. That was where Deschain excelled: getting into people's heads and thinking the same as they would. It was this ability that had led to the slaughter on Carratos and that had netted him several Jedi. "Going somewhere? Perhaps we should have a chat before that happens. I do so hate to be left in the dark."

| The igniting blade startled Caden, and he suddenly felt more than a little exposed. Barely thinking, he threw his belongings up the ramp, and turned to face the dark presence that had been haunting him since leaving Felucia. He shuddered; the man looked like the wraith from his head-splitting vision only seconds before, and his lightsabers slapped into his palms, freed of their restraints before he'd even fully formed that decision. He thumbed each one to life, and assumed a defensive posture, holding both blades in a reverse grip with one held to his side, the other horizontally across his body. He half-crouched, staring down the man, sure he was another Inquisitor. It made sense that he would be. "Go warm up the ship, old man" he said to Vax, not mentioning his name, and not averting his eyes from his opponent. "What do you want?" he called out to the cloaked figure. It was a redundant question, but he wanted to stall for time. "I'm kinda in a hurry" he added, cocking an eyebrow. He edged forward away from the ramp a little, not wanting to damage the ship should things break down and a fight break out. He didn't want to face this man in open combat though, not now, not when he felt so fatigued. He'd been so close to leaving Nar Shaddaa behind, along with all the feelings of claustrophobia and imminent danger that it invoked. But it seemed this figure was intent on not letting that happen.

| Vax gave Caden a curious look, but nodded and moved past him, up the ramp. "Take care, boy. I will not have your back on this one... and from the feel of it, he is not a newly converted Inquisitor." The Jedi moved on and up the ramp, hurrying, but with care, getting into the cockpit and beginning a check of the engines, listening to the hum as they started up. He could only hope that Caden made it onto the ship by the time it was ready for it to take off.

| "What do I want?" Deschain moved forwards lazily, spinning his solitary drawn lightsaber from hand to hand. A flourish that spoke of Makashi, then a wide swing, vicious, that called of Djem So, then back to the slow figure eight. "I kill traitors, Caden Sturn. You are a traitor. You and your Jedi friend." The last two words were spat, the venom dripping from his voice almost tangible. He advanced in a half-circle, always keeping away from the front of the shuttle and its deadly laser cannons. "The Inquisitorious, it seems, are lacking in discipline these days. I shall have to speak with the Emperor about the Grand Inquisitor's failings... it will be interesting. I may leave you alive to beg for his mercy. "As for where you need to go? Traitor, one message from me and this planet will be locked down. And look at you! Pathetic. A droid and a ship full of missiles to go out and capture Jedi! Oh, the Inquisitorious is lacking indeed if they send such failed little boys as you. I've read your file, Caden Sturn. A bad excuse for a Jedi, and even a worse example of a dark Jedi. You do not even know your own path. I would be doing you a favor by removing you right now."

| A smile crept onto Caden's face, something ominous and mirthless, and completely beyond the other Inquisitor's understanding. He readied himself in a Jar'Kai-modified opening stance of Djem So, and continued to stare down his enemy. His uninformed enemy. "Yes, it would be interesting to see how they dealt with you for your impertinence" he replied, offering no explanation. "You're in way over your head". He knew the Inquisitor was trying to rile him, to bring forth his much-recorded anger and the lack of stability that came with it. And it wasn't a matter of not giving in, because Caden could already feel that hot surge rising within him, demanding to be expelled one way or another. The words of his opponent, acting like his superior and taunting his abilities, drew from him an explosive anger like he hadn't felt in a long time. Drawing in on the Force, he felt rather than saw the storage containers, small worker droids and unused spare parts that littered the landing area, all cascading toward himself, before being thrust outward in a telekinetic wave, as unfocused as ever; debris blasted outward at Deschain, though Caden knew his attack had been unfocused, and likely wouldn't hold off the Inquisitor for long. He dashed for the ramp. This wasn't a fight he wanted, not here, not now. He wanted this to happen on his own terms, not caught off-guard on a hostile world that seemed to bring out the worst in him. "Get her up in the air old man!!!" he shouted, stowing his lightsabers. The longer they were here, the more likely it was that the Inquisitor would ground them permanently.

| Impertinence? In over his head? There was a lot that could be read from that. His thoughts automatically went to the duplicitous nature of the Grand Inquisitor and the games the man had played in the past. Was it possible Sturn and his Jedi friend were pawns in the game? Yes. Would the Grand Inquisitor have informed anyone about it? Possibly, yet Deschain doubted he was on the list of informed people, if there was one. Would this assumption stop him from killing the boy? No, not in the slightest. These thoughts raced through his head rather quickly, but not quick enough to prevent Sturn from acting, drawing in and then pushing out to try and crush Deschain to death. The unfocused attack was messy though, and Deschain simply brought his left hand up, fingers straight into the sky, palm facing the oncoming debris wave, and shoved back in a concentrated push that was quite focused. An eight-foot swath of the debris was either stopped where it was or flew back at Sturn and the shuttle as Deschain counter-pushed at one spot, creating a channel for himself. Sturn was already up the ramp though, shouting something that Deschain could not hear over the roar of the engines firing. Knowing he could not stop them here, he flicked a tracking beacon from a pouch at his waist, hurling it with his Force-enhanced strength to catch the underside of the shuttle if all went well, before falling back behind cover to escape the engine wash. His last sight of the ship, at least for the moment, was...

| ... the ramp shutting closed with a soft clunk. Vax's adrenaline levels were through the roof, but he kept the shuttle smooth as he climbed into the night sky, reaching out into space and heading towards a hyperjump route. Anoat, after all, was some distance away. For the moment, he felt Caden's presence on the ship, which was a good thing. He didn't feel the darkside presence either, which was another plus. That had been a close run there, and Vax intended to finish off the darksider the next time his ugly face, or lack thereof, showed up. "Boy! You still alive back there? Not bleeding out or anything?"

| Caden felt like he'd missed being pummeled to death by inches; a feeling not far from the truth. As the swath of debris scattered about the shuttle, he pulled himself up the last leg of the ramp, its rim having already left the ground long before Caden or Vax had decided to close it. His anger levels were at boiling point, having been brought to simmer by the Inquisitor's words. He threw himself down into the co-pilots seat and buckled his crash webbing. "I'm fine" he finally responded, only now confident that he could keep the rage out of his voice. "He didn't get chance to scratch me". Nor I, him, he added to himself. He sat in silence for a few moments, staring dead ahead through the viewport while the ship ascended through the upper atmosphere and into the familiar comforting blanket of space. He preferred being up here, amongst the stars, where it was easy to get lost among them. On the ground, he'd felt vulnerable, exposed. With the silence, and the ebbing away of his adrenaline, his headache began to return, though not as intensely as earlier. Spending all day with the constant sense of impending conflict, coupled with the mind-scrambling visions he'd experienced seconds before expelling a great deal of energy into attacking his would-be assassin... it had left him drained. "Mind if we put off the inevitable 'mind your feelings and control your powers' talk until after I've had a rest?" he asked numbly, anticipating the conversation which was likely coming. "We've got a long time til we get to Anoat". He hoped they'd be arriving at Anoat undisturbed. Little did he know, there was a small tracking device attached to the underside of the shuttle, relaying its position to the stalker they'd just fled from.

| Nothing could have brought Slave I faster through Nar Shadda's atmosphere than a concrete lead on a hefty sum of credits, and the assurance that its pilot would be helping see justice done by answering such a call to arms. His recent foray into the capture of Havoc temporarily put aside, the armoured bounty hunter had decided to postpone Inquisitor Deschain's request no longer. Some time after the debacle in the hangar at New Vertica's spaceport, Fett was going over the pseudo crime scene with a fine tooth comb... figuratively speaking. It wasn't often he got the chance to perform such delicate forensic work, though it was becoming decreasingly likely that he'd find anything of note. He'd seen the holo-recording several times, and the exchange had been brief enough to facilitate an almost-clean getaway. Almost. The target hadn't been careful about remaining hidden while traversing Nar Shaddaa. At least his companion, the Jedi, had been clever enough to adopt a gait that suggested a well-worn traveller, but Sturn... he'd marched about the place as if he were still the Imperial that he'd ceased to be, in order to play at being an insurgent. That was assumption on Fett's part, but a likely one. He hadn't hunted down a single Jedi that hadn't, in some way or form, been trying to collapse the Empire. It was a futile effort. If the Jedi truly revered life the way they preached, they wouldn't be trying to bring death upon everyone they involved in their selfish bid for supremacy. The other security feeds had identified Sturn easily enough, because of his assured stance and arrogant refusal to blend in. Whether the former-Inquisitor had realised it or not, he didn't have the air of someone who was used to scraping a living, and stuck out like a sore thumb. Fett was interested in two people right now; the anonymous trader that Sturn had made a deal with, seemingly selling his ship. Fett made a note to strike the VT-49 from his log as the targets means of travel, since they'd escaped on an old Theta-class shuttlecraft. The second, and more accessible person, was the man identified by the spaceport roster as Darren Lopek, a cargo hauler for Vista View Planetary Travel. How Lopek had ended up handling cargo on this rock, Fett neither knew nor cared. He still needed to speak to the man though. "They've got enough of a head-start for it not to matter if I spend some time questioning these two" Fett said, switching the monitor on the portable holoviewer to a split-image of Lopek and the mystery trader. He turned his helmeted head to Deschain. "Lopek can be taken on account of conspiring with traitors, once I'm through with him". Without waiting for approval or permission, Fett stalked off to find Lopek, and drive a few answers from him. Luckily, he'd brought his disruptor with him today.
"I bow to no one and I give service only for cause".
