From hyperspace, less than a light year from Volusian space's border, the Virella-class freighters "Escobar" and "Bailey" of Xizor Transport Systems exited Hyperspace, each carrying a chain of large XTS Containers, while neither vessel was armed, the "XTS" logo on their hulls often served as the best protection available in the outer rim, if this did not suffice, the four "Vjun Science Commission" marked Cloakshape-class fighters would also suffice as they closely escorted the cargo. Equally, it was well known there were many Imperial Forces in the region so little extra escort was required.

Waiting already at the rendezvous point was the chartered vessel "Elarok", a StarSpeeder 3000 from the Star Tours travel agency. It carried the first group of Engineers and Crewmen for the station which would assemble the Sensor Array for the arrival of the members of the Vjun Scientific Committee, who had positioned the Sensor Array here, close to Volus and its neighbouring systems to study the limits of the various heliospheres in detail, in order to discern the practicality of using solar wind for slow (but cheap) inter-stellar commerce.

The "Elarok" pulled up alongside the "Escobar"s front section as it broke its dock with the line of Cargo containers and moved a short distance away, the first container opened to reveal the pair of Space Tugs which would act as the main assemblers of the array, allowing them to be quickly crewed and begin the main construction, but not before the deployment of the two heavily armed gun platforms which would form the primary defence for the array.

Work was suprisingly fast, and within 24 hours the "Elarok" was able to leave the scene, thanks to the assembly of the crew quarters in the main sensor array proceeding at excellent speed, followed some hours later as the "Bailey" and "Escobar" redocked with the now empty containers and jumped to lightspeed, heading for the nearest XTS hub in order to get a new cargo.

As soon as work was completed in the construction, the pair of tugs were stowed safely in the hangar adjoining the command module, clinging to the frame of the sensor array, standing like a giant monument to some long dead god in deep space. A patrol was mounted around the sensor array, with atleast one Cloakshape always been deployed on a patrol, to assure that there was little chance of ambush.

In addition to this, the two gun platforms had been positioned carefully close to the sensor array in order to provide maximum protection from any raiders, should they come and choose to attack this peaceful scientific mission. Finally, 48 hours after the arrival of the Sensor Array at the site, the Sensor Array began to scan for the outer heliosphere of the Volus system, to detect its precise measurements.. its insidious waves and rays also penetrating into the Volus System (and its neighbours) scanning in detail the whole surrounding area, in order to assure they only had the finest quality data.

As this was unopposed, the Vjun Sensor Array was established close to Volus and began its scans.
