| (( Also, if it's helpful to you guys, I didn't really specify in the prior posts but the Marathon has been lurking about 2 1/2 to 3 lightyears away from Amorris. The TIE's are approaching at sublight speeds so I'm assuming it'd be as many as 10 or 15 minutes before they get there, or at least until the Marathon gets there. A small window, but long enough to gun it down to the surface and scoop up Baird and his crew if you'd like. I don't want to make things too difficult for you. ))

| My bad. You mentioned possible spotting of the Marathon and that the TIEs would be in attacking range in a few minutes.))

| I appreciate that captain, I'm just doing some things at work and i'll head home in about an hour here, then I'll throw up a post. I suppose you'd wanna fix your post, vaughn?)) Added (06 Jul 2011, 11:16 PM) --------------------------------------------- Baird's ship was prepped to take off for a distraction route, in case he and his rescuer's were caught with their pants down. His crew had the vital essentials packed in a small crate which was being toted around by the Cathar whom he dubbed Lion-o. "Roger that, make touch down we'll climb aboard and head out out of this dump." He stood their waiting outside the ship that he had from the clone wars, saved multiple races from imperial oppression and which guided him to a planet where it finally died. It was the end of an Era, but perhaps these newer people could be of some great use to him, get him a new ship and help him out with his mission to take down the Galactic Empire, and hopefully restore the galactic republic.

| Half of the Alpha Squadron would continue to follow Darius' lead as fast as he can, it's vital that the Libs rescue Baird and his soldiers because they would be able to help the Libs fight a war against the Empire. Not just that, but the Roughnecks will only get even better with all the allies the Libs had been making recently. Though the Captain didn't know that, he did knew the possibility that they could be forging alliances while they were away on this mission. He'd shake that thought away, re-focusing on the mission. The F-302 is a custom design created by Ben himself, which means it is fully customizable and could keep up with the Escapade if needed. However, the Z-95s wouldn't be able to. That was the reason they had to fly at Z-95s' maximum speed.
"How's it going over there, boys?" He spoke on the radiotransmitter to the fighters escorting the probe shuttle. All he got was responses of acknowledging that everything was smooth so far.

| It was exactly five and a half minutes from Darius' last transmission to Baird to his slightly bumpy and hurried landing some three hundred meters away from Baird's wrecked vessel. Lowering the ramp, Darius kept the engines primed and ready, set to leave as soon as Baird and his people were on board. Oh, this was turning into a mess. Darius could feel it in his gut.
"Amir, they should be on and we'll be up any moment. I still don't have a good feeling."
He flipped a few switches, priming his quad laser cannon.

| After the short wait, he saw a ship come in from orbit, one of is sniper's was zoomed on it and saw that it was possibly a friendly, after awhile of examining the ship through his scope, he saw that it was a jumpmaster5000. Hound Dog, the sniper that was zoomed in on the ship spoke through the comms that Baird's group was on. "It's here, everyone get moving. Quickly as we can. Commander. Get ready to set off the mother-ship, Over" Baird nodded and his squad of multiple alien races took off running towards the Jumpmaster5000, which would take them to safety. Eventually they all hit the ships ramps. Ran into the ship and found a place to sat down, Baird himself walked towards the cockpit to see the commander of the vessel while Lion-O and Carpet followed for protection, Just in case. Once he reached the cockpit, he looked at the driver. "You the commander? If so you have my thanks for rescuing me and my gang of cutthroat's. If we get any imperial action let me know. I've prepped my ship to take off for a distraction."

| Working the repulsors to give the ship an extra boost into the atmosphere, Darius flew and spoke without looking at Baird. He had a number of things on his plate, after all.
"I'm not a commander. I'm just a smuggler with the Libs. You and your men hang on tight now and trigger your ship as soon as possible. I've had a bad feeling for a good minute now and if we want to get out, we may need everything. And get yourself to one of the seats in the back."
The quad was prepped; the ion cannon and the missiles in the tube were armed and ready. Now all he needed was an escape vector.

| The Captain and his wingmates would press on circling the skies of where the JumpMaster was landing at. "Everything okay down there?" He would speak through the radiotransmitter to the smuggler. The fact that Darius had continued to tell Ben of his feelings toward the mission heightened Ben's senses. He would let out a heavy sigh, now he has a decision to make. Does he need to trust in instincts of a smuggler he hardly knew? Or does he need to continue resuming activities like nothing was going to happen?
From his experience as a pirate, which includes a lot of encounters with smugglers, smugglers have a tendency to have a sense of whether trouble would come or not. "Okay, men. Alpha two through five, abandon your current order and join up with us." Moments passed, and there was yet another acknowledgment of his order through the radiotransmitter. Alpha two through five had abandoned the probe shuttle, and was flying at Z-95s' maximum speed toward the rest of the Alpha Squadron and the grounded JumpMaster.
The next thing Ben did was to activate the self-destruct code for the probe shuttle from the computer system that were inside the F-302. "Let's get out of here before the party poopers shows up." The self-destruct countdown would be initiated inside the probe, but not before it sends back the data that was collected from the planetary scan conducted by the probe itself.

| With a swift nod Baird, Carpet, and Lion-O fell back into a place to sit down, and strapped in. Once he was safely buckled in he pulled out his remote control and waited a few moments before activating it. His busted ship that could fly, buy had no air support started to hover off the ground, wobbling around as it did. It eventually got it's bearing's and took off to create a distraction, if there were indeed party poopers. Getting us out of here was up to Vaughn. A Quick jump to light speed would of worked perfectly before they were caught by imperial scanners.

| Darius waited for the Z-95s to form up on his craft. The Escapade's hyperdrive was warming up and nearly charged and ready. So far, he had nothing on visuals, but that bad feeling kept increasing. He could only hope that Baird's distraction would work to pull away any enemies nearby. Then again, he hoped there were no enemies nearby in general. "Ok gentlemen. Prepare to jump on my mark."

| The Captain would be the first one to line up besides the Escapade. His F-302 was usually faster than the Z-95s so it took a couple of moments for the rest to finally get all lined up. Ben would punch in the coordinates, and ordered for his pilots to do the same. They would wait for Darius to give out the OK.
