In the time that had passed on Volus, Shiva's agents had come quite far in the community. The married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Chad Wainwright, had moved to a better neighborhood, Chad himself now working for a very politically-minded newspaper as a journalist. His satirical cartoons and well-informed comments were the talk of the town, so to speak, especially when he poked fun at Senator Star's policies that were equally criticized within the Senate. His wife, Melinda Wainwright, was studying in one of the Volusian colleges to earn a degree in finance so as to become a banker.

The bounty hunters, Kevin Ploo and Herb Janson had improved their status as well. Ploo was now a dedicated worker for Orda's Bail Bonds, a rather well-known bond office that dealt with a large number of Volusian criminals. Janson had taken on as the private bodyguard of wealthy and influential Volusian pop singer Tina Flimmons, whose music was all the rage on Volus and rapidly spreading to other places.

The last agent, Zed Gogg, had continued to work as a transport aid in the Volusian Interplanetary Spaceport, loading cargo day in and day out and, in general, blending in to the background.

Some of them almost felt bad for the Volusian people. Between recent embarrassments and problems, Volus had chosen to expand it's compact yet powerful naval forces. It wasn't going to be enough though, nowhere near enough. A plot was in motion, brewing and deadly, that was meant to encompass the Volusian navy and compromise it quite thoroughly. Volus itself held very little political value. It's king was a quiet and unassuming man (from what they could tell) and its Senator was largely outspoken and fairly prone to arguments in the Senate.

As such, it held more value as a world to be harvested and less as a world to be converted.
