It was only a few months after the end of the Clone Wars. It was the end of an era, the end of the Republic, the end of life as the Galaxy knew it. Overnight, it was as if the Republic had never existed, as if there was no other rule of the Galaxy than the Emperor, as if no one but Palpatine had ever been Emperor. The Galaxy quickly fell in line in a patriotic fever, and Order swept across the stars. Republic Cruisers were Star Destroyers, Clone Troopers were Stormtroopers, Jedi were Enemies of the State. Everything familiar was gone, but one thing was not. His father.

"Again," was the rough simple expression that roared in the small, padded room. He was frustrated, and quite pissed. It was his daily hand-to-hand training, and he had his ass kicked all over the room for the pass three hours; it was time to fight his way. He rushed his father, while letting out an animal grunt, and quickly elevated the fight by jumping towards him with a flying punch, which missed but put him back a few steps. Fluidly, he swung his body into him before he could get his footing, with a spinning elbow strike with his left to his nose, followed by a right hook hook into his temple, bring all his weight into it. Most men would have been knocked out by the blow, but his father, like him, was a Human animal. Since his weight kept going, his father off-set this blow by grabbing his waist throwing him in the direction he was going, actually up-ending him in the process. Being the one of clear mind at that particular moment, he used the move to quickly get his ankles around his neck and spin him down to the ground with him.

Instantly, they both sprang up, after rolling to their feet, and he charged, throwing a right hook towards him which his father caught, as did he with the following quick left hook. Stuck in this struggle, attempting to overpower his father, which was not happening, he let out a roar, and then proceeded to head butt him, with the effect of breaking his nose and sending him reeling, following by a swift kick of his right foot to his crotch, putting him on the ground. Right away, he put him in an armlock, and in perfect position to break his neck. After all these years, it was so tempting to do so... to finally show the old man up, finally show that he was a man. "STOP!" came the scream from under him, breaking his concentration. He immediately let go and stepped back to allow him to recover. By now, he could suddenly feel the sting of sweat in his eyes.

"I taught you none of that! Yet again, you diverge from your instruction!" he screamed him as he slowly stood up. "What is taught is dandy, but when it comes down to a fight, it has to be about instincts. In that case, it was instincts that said application of unconventional tactics would win the fight," he said, fearing some form of backlash. Instead, a hug was given to him. He might as well have been suddenly shot by the man. "You've finally learned. I have taught you all I can. Now, while your mother patches me up, take a shower," he said. Often they would continue after this with some other training. "Why?" he asked, fearing another backlash, but getting a smile. "Today is the day you join the Army," his father said, walking out of the room. He was left puzzled for a moment, but then walked out and up to his room.
