The ship rocked back and forth, yet the crew remained calm. The voice of the computer on the intercom warning of the cracked reactor bulb as Ali'Zarin nodded to his officers. They already knew what to do, and the crew kept their calm as they quickly worked. This was a crew that was trained, and unlike most Imperial Crews, was all together something else. Their life was dependent on being able to fix things with out a second thought. They were just lucky that over the years they had been given the liberty of special upgrades that many other ISDs in the fleet didnt have a chance at. Ali'Zarin motioned to his second in command, the man nodding as the engineer crew was given the signal. For a moment it seemed that all power in the ship shut off, everything going dark before the lights flickered back on. A second reactor hidden with in the ship was being brought online as the systems were checked and nothing seemed damaged. The main reactor bulb being shut down and sealed off to prevent any unwanted damage to the ship. Ali'Zarin watched as the other ships began to move around them, their first target the Marauder class ship that was closest to them.

His officers each quickly moved over their command consoles, the entire process like an unwavering symphony. The men working as the ship was pulled into the perfect position. Ali'Zarin motioning to his gunners. "Wait for it, fire into their path." The gunners nodded as they waited until the right time. When it came a quick burst of blue ionized bolts screamed forth from the ion cannons, firing into the flight path of the ship. The Marauder being hit by the blue energy burst before their engines began to waver, the ship sitting dead in the water. Ali'Zarin nodded as his men took aim, they had been given permission to use their special stock. The ship taking aim before two burst tore through the hidden tubes of the torpedo launchers. The proton torpedoes flying towards the marauder before they struck the ship. Tearing through one of its engines and the port side. Sending the ship rocking from a massive explosion as their port engine was torn from the ship, sparking and flaming as it began to drift in space.

"Disable the engines completely, then focus our fire on the other ships." The gunners nodded as they took aim, the Heavy Turbolasers of the ship being brought online. Their massive cannons taking aim before letting off a heavy salvo of fire. The bolts tearing through another of the Marauders engines, yet missing the smaller secondary ones that would still allow it to limp away. Explosions rocking the marauder before the ISD turned its attention on the other ships. It began to head straight for the Muurian transport, its weapons taking aim as a blistering salvo of Turbolaser fire tore through space, striking against the ships shields as the fire wasnt let up.

Ali'Zarin's sensor and scanner officers had already picked up the grouping of fighters. The engineers and ship repair crew knew their work, and the ship like the back of their hand. It wasnt a matter of hours, yet moments that quickly got the hangers back together. The wounded men, though few, were already wisked away to the medical bay, the pilots ready as they tie fighters where being launched. Yet they didnt launch out of the bays or hangers that any of the enemy could see. They were launched from a third hanger bay, one that was below the ship as the tie fighters dropped straight down below the ship. The pilots forming up into wedge formations as they slid under the formations of the enemy. When they were at the right position they quickly changed their flight path. Heading straight up from their position as they entered a steep climb up towards the Z-95s their laser cannons tearing through the enemy formation as the enemy fighters went up in brilliant explosions before the Tie Fighters screamed away into the darkness of space, almost disappearing as quickly as they had appeared, circling high above the battle as they were getting themselves ready for another attack.

The Dark Whispers had engaged Jamulon's vessels; that much the Mynocks knew. From where they were though, they could not tell the extent or location of damages; if any. They could tell the Star Destroyer had launched two of its four squadrons of TIE fighters; twenty-four in total, seeing as how it had not launched any bombers or additional squadrons. By the time these had begun to launch though, the R-41s had been in position and fired. Each R-41 fired a pair of concussion missiles; a total of sixteen, all aimed at the same point of impact on the port shield generator. Only seconds later, the Planetary Defenders opened with four each; another sixteen, right on top of the first. The Empire's design was truly fearsome, but with such a vast majority of its weapons facing forwards, it was quite vulnerable from the rear.

The Caliph's Sun, having caught up with the fighters, launched the heavier salvo of five of its six proton torpedoes at the same spot as the concussion missiles; almost guaranteeing penetration and damage of so many warheads. The Hammer, not armed with warheads, was still catching up to firing range, a little over two kilometers out, where its heavy cannons could begin chewing away at the armor on the larger vessel. The Gloom, of course, was in the rear, being the heaviest vessel the Mynocks had to muster. It didn't spare the firepower either, launching all twelve proton torpedoes at the rear of the bridge spire one after another. There was more to come, of course; Shiva had additional forces not far off and en route; having accounted for the Imperial response. He felt secure in sending heavier vessels.

As previously stated "The Maurauder-class and the Muurian transport maintained their parralel course, still a goodly distance outside of the ISD's range and keeping up evasive manouvres so they could fade away if advanced towards and fired upon." Thus the marauder was not crippled as it lay well outside the ISD's range and was maintaining that distance, thus it was impossible for the ISD to fire into it's path unless it changed course.

The Star Destroyer's outranged gunnery simply made a flickering light show in space as it dissipated into harmlessness off of the starboard bow of the Maurauder. As it proceded on it's course, remaining a good distance from the ISD and requiring it move before the Maurauder could be gunned at. The Maurauder and Mynocks Kept up their partial orbit of the ISD waiting for it to be weakened by the cloud of smaller vessels before it would pounce.

The Z95 squadron manoeuvred towards the Mynocks, using their formation as cover to attack the unshielded and fairly weak TIEs. losing two of their number to their fore but not returning fire directly until all 10 remaining had fired a proton torpedo at the weakened ISD. Then beginning the process of dogfighting with the more manoeuvrable but less durable TIEs in pairs, performing careful slashes to circumvent their speed.

Ali'Zarin watched as everything before him began to unfold. He knew what he had to do, although it was a course of action he'd rather not take. He looked to his second in command and nodded. "Recall all Tie fighters, get engines ready to move." The officer nodded as the Tie fighters broke from their attack, quickly rushing back to the Dark Whispers. The weapons focused on the fighters that followed the Tie fighters in. Shooting behind their own fighters as the pilots pulled into the hanger, the doors closing before there was a confirmation from the hanger bay that the final fighter was on board. Ali'Zarin nodded as the proximity sensors went off, more missiles and torpedoes heading their way. The pilots knew what to do, unlike most ISDs, this one was different, this crew specialized in the absurd. With out a command the brought the nose of the ship down. Sending the ISD into a steep dive, adding power to the engines as the large ship headed straight down.

The missiles and torpedoes met where the ISD had once been, all of the weapons slamming into each other in a large explosion, giving the pilots of the Dark Whispers something to ride as they began to level out the ship. Ali'Zarin looked to the pilots as he stood silently on the bridge, his hand coming up. "Set a course for Dantooine, we'll meet reinforcements there. Resupply and repair damage, then we'll return. On my mark, three....two....one." With a drop of his hand the pilots moved over the controls, a loud humming filling the ISD before it jerked forward. The ship jumping into Hyperspace as Ali'Zarin looked out the window, watching the stars rush by before he turned to walk off the bride.

He wanted to see what damage was caused, and what could be fixed with out the need of a ship yard. Giving command of the bridge to his first officer before leaving. Ali'Zarin let out a heavy sigh as he stood in the turbolift, the blinking of lights of floors going by interrupted his thoughts now and again. The door opened as he stepped out onto the hanger deck, walking towards the area that was damaged most, the engineers already at work.

((Dark Whispers retreated.))

With the Imperial Forces, in their massive superiority, put to flight, the Dantooine rebels simply departed from the battleground back to their laird in the Deep Space of the Sector... It had been a triumph for them for they had caused an Imperial Battleship to flee with no casualties, despite having nothing better to throw at them than a corvette and a few rusty fighters.

There was some celebration on Alurion, unaware of their help from above they felt that their missile defence system had been a triumph. But in the ruins of New Coronet the Committee met as a cold wind blew off the sea, blowing ash and dust up.

There was a discussion, and a decision was reached that the Empire would now undoubtedly return in greater numbers. It had been desirable to Bastile to draw them into a long land war, but now it seemed likely they would just return and put them to the sword...

Thus a decision was reached, they would secure passage away for all those irrevocably involved in the rebellion, militiamen and leaders, so that they might disperse to the four winds for the duration of the crisis. Once the heat was off they would return to win back Alurion and drive the Imperials away. Of course a few hotheads disagreed and boycotted the plan. But it was necessary to evacuate to prevent a massacre.

Even if the crew were used to dealing with the absurd; there was only so much a Star Destroyer could do; especially in such close proximity to the planet. The statistical likelihood of the Dark Whispers escaping completely unscathed from the attack was next to nil. As such, a number of the warheads would be intercepted by fire from the ship, but before it jumped, it would certainly take a pounding; perhaps not loosing the shield generator as they had planned, but suffering extensive electrical damage to the electrical systems on that generator and around the bridge.

With the cowardly Imperials run off, the Mynocks sent a message to Jamie's men, letting them know that the rebellious citizens needed passage offworld. The Mynocks would be able to help in a small way.

Jamie's rebels had followed their orders, intercept the ISD, help drive it off then leave. They didn't have no interest in rescuing rivals for the title of "Raioballo Sector Liberators". Thus they switched off their communication to Shiva's men and continued their hyperspace victory party.

As Jamulon's men were departing, the Mynocks were left with little choice. They could hardly hold a full five hundred people. However, the Caliph's Sun, Gloom and Hammer could squeeze a few in; the primary rebel leaders while the rest went into hiding. It wasn't as if the Empire could simply glass the world for the rebellion of a few people. And so, the Mynocks landed at the coordinates given to them; or at least the ships capable of transporting people did. The fighters flew overhead, prepared for an Imperial response.
