The blades of grass slowly bent in the wind as it swept over the hills. The branches of the tree slowly bending in the breeze. A hole in the base contained a small dispenser that was set up. A set of five credit chips, each of them holding 10,000 credits, only able to be released when the sensor detected information. If it wasnt what was set in the program the one whose hand was still inside would receive a small surprising jolt. In the distance a single man waited, invisible to the naked eye as he sat quietly, a stealth field keeping him hidden as the barrel of the sniper rifle was covered in dried grass to hide it. The cross hairs resting on the small hole near the tree as he waited and watched for those that would appear.

He had all the time in the world to wait, then again if he didnt get what he wanted by the end of the day he would merely pack up and retract the offer. He didnt want just any kind of information, he wanted good and reliable information. Anything else was just garbage to him, and couldn't be used. So there he lay in wait, watching and every mindful of the dead drop location. Keeping watch on it like a Corellian panther stalking its prey.

Unfortunately... it was ploughing season on Dantooine, and as the man lay skulking in the trees and grass he would be faced with a strange question. The question was "What is that dreadful noise?".. Towards him across the landscape crawled a massive land plougher, cutting through the dry soil and treeline like a thousand tonnes of Durasteel, which (ironically) it actually was. Above the roar of the machinery and splintering of trees could be heard over the huge vehicle's loudspeaker a loud banjo tune. The man with his rifle was now faced with another dichotomy.. and this was simply whether to run as the giant whirring mass of blades and grinding teeth moved along the treeline towards him, sending earth and pulped trees spinning skywards behind it.

Unlike most who would have just jumped up and run off, Rasuk was calmer than that. His hand moving over to his left wrist as he opened the small device. The proximity alarm going off in his H.U.D. as he clicked a few buttons. A few moments later the pin of an adhesive grenade flipped off, a small device causing the grenade to jump up before it exploded. The blue adhesive material sticking to the blades of the large vehicle, locking them in place as they came to a stop, a second adhesive grenade near by bursting up from the ground as well, the blue sticky material quickly hardening on the vehicle, stopping it in its tracks.

The stealth field generator did its job as he slowly stood up, still invisible to the farmer as he slid his rifle from its hiding place. He quickly spun to the side and took aim, seeing that the machine for the moment was locked up from the adhesive grenades. Just to be sure he took aim at the main lines that supplied power to the machine before he pulled the trigger. The blaster bolt cleanly cutting through the line to disable the large machine before Rasuk moved from the area, finding a new waiting place that still had a good line of sight on the old tree that sat in the court yard of the ruins of the old jedi enclave.

(( I don't reckon a cloaking device is going to be allowed, friend. Based on past experience, that is. If you want to say Rasuk weren't seen in the tall grass, though, I figure I'd be content with that. I suppose it's Farmer Bill's call, though. But cloaking devices is usually denied here as far as I can recollect. ))

Le Grange's ranch ran up against old Willie's farm, and a pair of ranch hands happened to be near enough to the commotion to be of some help to the old farmer if he raised a holler, as he figured to considerin' how many seasons he'd saved up for that there plow of his. Le Grange, "Crazy" Doc Danson, Amos Moses, and the rest of the boys all turned up on old Willie's farm the day he bought that plow, to raise their flasks to him ('course, it had somethin' to do with the fact old Willie brewed the finest moonshine this side of Garang and had long been fixin' for an excuse to crack it open, as all of Garang well knew. A good time was had by all that day, boy howdy). With that plow of his sabotaged, old Willie weren't gonna be happy. "What's all the fuss about, Bill?" one of the ranch hands said once they made their way to Willie, who, knowing him, was stompin' on his hat about now. Both of the ranch hands were armed with the E-5 blaster rifles that were commonly seen on Dantooin' since the Clone Wars. One of the hands also had a DC-15A blaster rifle slung over his back.

Willie, arms flailin', told them the tale. "Sounds like there's a troublemaker in these parts," one of the hands said, then clicked on his comlink and sent the news back to Le Grange's ranch house. "Think he's still around here?" the other one asked, glancing around suspiciously. "Figure we should raise a posse and have a look around, Bill?"

Ain't heard o no steal field, hearda hidin. I reads it as that))

The ploughin' engin' made a mighty clanking noise as the blades were jammed by the goo, and the line severed. Bill climbed out of his cab, slightly concerned. Dantooine was famous for its dangerous fawna and there was nothing more ominous to a farmer than having his blades stopped. As he clambered down over the side of the machine, he noticed the power line.. broken by a blaster bolt. Staying still and looking around for a second he climbed up to the cab and turned on the small radio in the cab (powered by its on batteries), taking his heavy blaster rifle from its holster by the side of the seat. He spoke over the radio "Joe, any you boys by the radio? Reckon we gots another snail stuck in the blades on the Machine, send one of the boys down to clean her out.. And I gots me a blaster bolt hit my power line, reckons I got one o those lost CIS droids out here, or a prankster. Either way, one of yall bring my Akk Dog. We gunna teach this clanky we don mess round here on Dantooine. Bring it down on the speeder with the cooler in it, got a case of Stonekey on ice in the back".

With his message sent, Bill climbed onto the roof of the cab, lying down so to minimise his profile, looking around the landscape. He took out his macrobinoculars and idly began to search the landscape of sweeping grassland for movement until the Colonel turned up "Aye, I be sure there be troublemakers herebouts. Got the dog comin' down and some beers, he'll surely sniff out the trouble"

Things had just gotten to the point that Rasuk didnt want them at, now he had the locals coming after him, coupled with the fact that no one had shown up at the dead drop location. Deciding to cut his losses he slid down from his hiding place into the shadows. Moving through them and keeping down wind at the same time as he pulled back his set up payment and put away the small pack. He knew that soon enough he'd have others coming for him as he pulled out a couple more grenades, it was always good to have them as he began to set up the trip wires, placing them down as he covered them before slipping off into the shadows once more. He knew that by now they were trying to look for him, these farmers for one thing may have been dumber than most, yet they were crack shots with rifles from what he heard.

It was the only other place for him to hide though as he looked towards the old abandoned Enclave. No doubt most of it was caved in, other places might be intact though, and he had a feeling that none of the farmers wanted to venture into the building.

Ben had reached Khoonda a while back, under a false I&D signature for his YT-2000 light freighter. He would appear to be a simple smuggler, because he really is one. The thing is, he also happened to be a deep-cover messenger and a soldier for the Libs. The smuggler had reached Dantooine from the Libs' base of operations for two objectives: one out of necessity and another as a bonus. However, the top priority is to find the man that had offered ten credits for information on General Horrace of the Imperial starfleet on the HoloNet. Perhaps not many would take him up on the offer, but under the orders of the man himself, Ben is prepared to strike a fair deal. Some additional credits, if he must.

The soldier/smuggler was wearing a brown, leathery pants with a white t-shirt. There was also a rugged brown, leathery hat with a feather on it. A belt with a DH-17 pistol attached to it, and his favorite weapon, a C-10 "Dragoneye Reaper", had a strap. It was attached on his back, which would be used when necessary. The shadowy figure on the HoloNet had indicated that the man would be near an abandoned Jedi Enclave. This was going to be a risky mission, but one he is prepared to take. He had to think of this as just another mission.

Instead of using a speeder to attract some attention and to scare some potential clients away, he decided to pay a native just outside Khoonda to let him use a Bol. Using a native creature was an alternative means of transportation, albeit a slower and safer one. The creature bellowed, and Ben softly patted on the head. "Easy, pal. Easy." He whispered to the Bol before using his legs to softly buckle it into moving away from Khoonda. The smuggler/soldier had been to Dantooine a couple of times before. He thought it to be very remote, but a peaceful one at most. Ben had never been to the Jedi Enclave though, and he thought it could be historical site if the Jedi had not "supposedly plotting" to overthrow the Emperor. He'd snap his thoughts away and focused on looking for this man.

Rasuk's observation about the accuracy of Dantooine gunhands was proven right when, as he worked to set up his grenades and trip wires (a delicate task, one assumes), a laser bolt whiffed just over his head. Another hit the tree, sending wooden splinters into the air. Crack! Crack! The sound of the rifle would be heard a moment later. E-5's weren't too accurate 'specially at this distance, but even so, with armor and all, Rasuk probably didn't want to be hit with one. In a moment the posse would be on top of Rasuk's location and if he stood any chance of getting into the ruins of the Jedi Enclave unseen, it was more likely than a nerf's stank that the Dantari-rigged trap of his weren't goin' be finished before he needed to make himself scarce into the high grass. "I seen him!" one of the ranch hands said as he lowered his E-5 rifle, "By yonder tree!" Farmer Bill's akk dog weren't there yet, but that wouldn't stop Le Grange's two ranch hands from setting off through the grass in pursuit of Rasuk, the other one unslinging his DC-15A. Ol' Willie was welcome to come if he so pleased, or stay by his plow and give 'em some cover as he waited for the akk dog and his case of Stonekey Lite.

Vincent Le Grange, back at his ranch house some distance away, was rounding up his rifle, his hat, and a few of the boys and piling into a landspeeder, which raised up a cloud of dust as it sped off toward Willie's farm. They weren't there yet, but it wouldn't be long.

Bill's Akk dog was on the scene a few seconds later and bounded out of the back of the truck as the Farm hand Joe swerved the speeder to a halt next to the plough. It bounded past his master and sensed the quarry at hand, it knew all the local men, having been fed by them and got drunk with them a few times. It recognised a new scent, and smelled the scent of the grenades as it bounded across the landscape with a booming bark as it approached Rashuk, bounding through the scant few trees towards Rashuk and jumping into the air as it approached, its maw open to close around his leg when it landed.

Bill himself wiped the sweat from his forehead as he felt his rather considerable paunch wobble as he ran towards the Enclave, he was quite outta shape but wasnt going to have noone saboutagin' his farm. He moved into the ruins to outflank the intruder, holding his Shotgun blaster in his hands and following his dog as it snaked with uncanny speed towards its quarry. "Git r dun boys!" he yelled firing off the shotgun blaster into the air as he approached the trespasser.

Thats when everything seemed to decide to fall to hell. Rasuk rolled from his work as he heard the round barely miss his head and slam into the tree near him. The splinters flying over him as he dropped. He was lucky at that moment, he quickly rolled through as he heard the growl of the large Akk dog, barely avoiding its bite to his leg as he rolled quickly, his hand grabbing his weapon. He was quick move with it to as he stood up and rolled back, in the single motion the barrel was already removed and put away on a pouch on his thigh, a second attachment put to it as he quickly stood up and spun to his side. His first target was a farm hand, his H.U.D. of his helmet picking up and registering the weapon as he quickly fired. The P.E.P. was a great tool to have when you didnt want to kill anyone, thats what made the weapon a worth while relic from the clone wars. The Pulse Energy Projectile hit the farm hands chest, the stunning effect of the round pulsing through him before he dropped as Rasuk pulled a round canister from his belt and popped the clip.

He threw it down as he slid his weapon around to his back, pulling off two more and throwing them down as they both popped and clicked. It took only seconds until the area was filled with smoke, the low wind doing its job as it kept the smoke down where it was needed in a large billowing cloud. Rasuk tapped the side of his helmet as he activated the Heat Vision, knowing full well that the Akk dog could still pick up his scent as he moved quickly, he turned as he approached the second farm hand in the smoke, quickly grabbing him as he pulled him forward, a knee slamming into his stomach before an elbow found his shoulder and slammed him down. The last insult being a small pin prick of a dark fired from Rasuk's wrist as the object hit the back of the mans neck. It would only take a couple of seconds until the liquid in the dart coursed through his blood stream and knocked him out. Rasuk was a bounty hunter, and the one thing he didnt do was kill innocent people.

Still the damn Akk dog would be a problem, his heat vision still picking it up in the smoke as he pulled up two more grenades from his belt. He was glad he decided to pack multiples today as he let the pins click off. He waited for the right moment until he threw them, both of them smacking against the side of the Akk Dog, then just seconds later they burst open, the blue goo covering the animal and stopping it in its tracks, its limbs stuck in place as it fell to its side while Rasuk used that time to quickly moved away from his position. The last object in his way now being the shotgun totting farmer. Rasuk pulled his weapon back forward as he turned the heat vision on his H.U.D. off before he rolled and fired a quick P.E.P. burst, three rounds, one at the farmer and one to each side if he decided to move left or right, directly in his movement path as Rasuk rushed forward before spotting the low wall with the hole in the bottom. He smirked as he quickly broke forward it, rushing until he slid forward, sliding on his leg as he slipped into the hole and landed on a small mound of dirt in the darkened room. His night vision quickly turning on as he stood up and cleared the room before he pulled the P.E.P. attachment off his weapon and turned it to the full automatic blaster set up.

Having a peaceful environment on Dantooine was too good to last, as Ben had heard gunfire. At first, the apparent smuggler thought it might be hunting or something. Hunting was big on Dantooine, from what he had known about the planet. He shrugged, dismissing the gunfire as hunting for iriaz or something like that. Walking across the plains, with the sun gleaming through the cloudy clouds. It only passed for a brief moment, just as the clouds had covered the sunlight once again. A small pack of Thune were grazing on the tall grass about twenty feet east of him. Ben didn't pay them any attention, Thune aren't known to be an aggressive bunch of animals unlike Kath Hounds and Laigreks.

Indeed, the young man had been on Dantooine before. The last time he came here was to hunt for an iriaz with a close friend of his. Ben was never one for hunting, but he went to keep his friend company. If there were going to be any shooting, it would be toward the Imperials. Then the next thing he heard was grenades. So, that wasn't hunting. All the racket sounded like it was coming from the north, perhaps not far from the abandoned Jedi Enclave. "Hyah!" He buckled the Bol, as it gained a little speed. He decided to ride northwest, to give himself some distance in case something was happening. At the very least, he'd be able to get an advance warning before drawing into some sort of trouble.

Ben was here for two objectives, and two only. He took the Dragoneye out from the behind, not taking any chances as the smuggler/messenger makes his way toward the scene.
