| A YT-777 emerged from hyperspace, carrying a cargo of Salt, taken from the old Salt Flats outside of Snashville. The ship if questioned was carrying condiments to the dear miners on the world, but was in fact carrying its cargo of deliciously addictive salt (at least for the locals) to turn a massive profit! Jamie the Hutt was bemused as to why the locals were so addicted to the stuff, but oh well, whatever turns you on.

"He actually asked if the ship was fast enough?"
Trigger's voice was amused as he sat at his console, for once not propping his feet up. The bridge crew was ready and on standby for whatever might well happen at Cona. Officially, their story was that they were an armed 'freighter' delivering a massive amount of freshwater to Cona. Unofficially speaking, they were there to destroy the vessel belonging to Jamulon Tiure that was encroaching on Njon's territory. Hejin had tinkered with his vessel's IFF and for the time being, it was identified as the Ceaseless Whispers; armed transport and hauler.
"Oh, he doubts from time to time, Njon does, but then we deliver and ease his hearts and mind. Poor old fellow." Hejin chuckled and glanced around, making sure as they hurtled through hyperspace that everyone was indeed ready. With the statistics and the one-of-a-kind nature of his vessel, he was quite sure it was up to the task of getting them to Cona more than quickly enough. Far too soon it seemed, the time came and the alert beacon sounded, preparing them to drop from hyperspace. Out they came, like a baby from a womb; from hyperspace to realspace along the hyperlane that led to Cona. Njon's estimation had been closer than he could have known: directly to their twelve was a YT-777, less than two kilometers off their bow.
Once they emerged, the crew moved into action. Trigger began scanning for any and all craft in the system, starting with the closest, being the YT-777, and checking identification and origin to spot a craft from Dantooine. Rommel was at the primary weapon station; the weapons already hot and charged, ready to run. The pilots stood by at their craft; Genkai in the primary seat of the ARC-170. Petra, having taken over part off the comm station on her XO console, readied the jammer that would be a goodly portion of their attack run here. Despite the need for secrecy and positive identification, it seemed too unlikely that the ship ahead of them was anything but the one belonging to Jamulon.

| Jamie the Hutt's freighter, not being minded to take chances would simply signal to the Victory-class Star Destroyer which hung closeby over Dantooine, gunning its engines for its location which was only a short distance away. The Axum Interest Protection Squadron was there to defend the new mineworks. The freighter was expected, it has been chartered to land in their sector during the next few hours. As such it took evasive manouvres and moved towards the TIE picket which was not far away, its laser cannons targeted on the slow pirate vessel as it approached, opening fire once they began to Jam comms. It took care to keep its bow pointed away from Cona itself.
The hyperdrive computer was quickly activated and prepared for an emergency jump. Bill up in the turret keeping a close eye on the approaching fighters with his macrobinoculars, ready to signal to make an emergency jump if threatened further.

| The Victory-class Star Destroyer "Eagle" immediately moved towards the pirate vessel, they had already been on alert as they stood on station to defend the mining flotilla over Cona and so were well prepared for battle as it swung its bow around and began to advance upon the pirate vessel (clearly seen as a pirate by its illegal weapons too). They had been cautioned to destroy any interlopers and had been told the chance of raids were highly likely. The fact the vessel was painted with a giant skull was a hint to (mildly psychotic) Captain Hyde that it was not a vessel which they wished to be friends with. The weapons on his also modified vessel (Double turbolaser batteries x60 Assault concussion missile tubes x80) targeted the vessel, waiting for their Captain's order to fire.
As weapons and shields charged to the full (from their medium alert position of 50%) the Captain's heart swelled with pride at the efficiency with which his ship was handling, superior indeed to even the Imperial Fleet, the men of Anaxes were not men to be trifled with. The Fighter picket (8 fighters launched) gave the Pirate ship a very wide berth (well aware of the effectiveness of Quadlasers), staying out of range of its Point defense guns.
"Weapons targeted and charged" chimed the Senior Weapons Officer, from the gunnery control pit to the side of the bridge. "A volley into their bow" spoke the Captain not much minded to fire a warning shot for this kind of scum. Over a score of Assault Concussion Missiles and fully a hundred turbolaser blasts flew through the void (from the massed fire of the Dual Turbolasers). They took clear to avoid the YT-777 as it passed under their bow, with their fire, but the ship to their bow would rue the day it entered space under the protection of the Anaxes Interest Protection Squadron as the spectacular volley of turbolasers and missiles streaked with deadly accuracy towards their target, aiming to cripple it by blasting the whole front of the ship into molten slag and batter down the shields with sheer force.

| A 'short distance' was a relative term. Exact scanner distance from the freighter to the Stars of Arcadia was precisely 1.46 kilometers. The 'short distance' between the freighter and the planet Cona was, rounded to the nearest tenth of a kilometer, 12.16. This, of course, under most circumstances, would have been short for spaceflight. However, this was a combat situation and slightly different. The Victory-class was noted immediately on the scan and it's position relevant to that of the Hejin's vessel. Whether or not the freighter fired its laser cannons or not at the Stars of Arcadia was a moot point; as it began to maneuver, that was enough for Rommel and his gunnery crew. One of his men immediately activated the tractor beam, a tool which Hejin and his men were quite good at utilizing to snag small and quick-moving fleeing vessels. The tractor beam would be a redundant factor as well though, as the custom vessel's fire control rapidly read and fed the coordinates tracking the freighter together. Microseconds later, nine heavy turbolaser cannons opened fire with deadly accuracy, aiming to converge on the fleeing freighter. Seconds after that, the missile operators, having acquired a lock, ran a pair of torpedoes through the tubes.
The main mission was executed and delivered in under three minutes of arrival and Olms Rosta, pumping the engines for all they were worth, prepared for the ship to 'dive' come about. Boasting a fine-control mechanism much like that found on the CR90 made it easier for Lim and his crew to maneuver the ship and it broke to the right, already heading back the way it had come. This was likely along the point where the Star Destroyer's weapons were fully charged. As such, their 'volley into the bow' might not work as well. Their concussion missiles as well might not have the range to lock on at such a distance at this time either, but if their gunnery was accurate, they might be lucky to slam a few shots against the shields. However, any missiles that did get close would have to contend with the jamming equipment on-board the vessel, it's point defense weapons as well as with the ARC-170, the ATR-6 and the Theta shuttle that had dropped off the docking clamps to run interference. It was unlikely that the larger and more massive Victory-class, even sporting more engines, would be able to match the speed of the less-engined but less massive Stars of Arcadia. The pirate ship had been built for a good blend of speed and firepower.
The maneuver executed was likely to take it out of the line of fire of the majority of any shots aimed at it, thanks largely to fine control and in the meantime, Trigger already had a course laid into the hyperdrive and was prepared to jump at any time, while the shields facing the Star Destroyer were bolstered by seventy-five percent from the starboard side.Added (22 Jun 2011, 9:48 Am) --------------------------------------------- (( It has been sufficiently over four days. Let me know if I need to modify. ))
The lines of light from the turbolasers cut through space; many missing due to the extreme range and maneuver executed by Hejin's vessel. Concussion missiles were quite out of the question as well, as the vessel's jammer was in high active mode, and the range was hardly in the Star Destroyer's favor. With the snubfighters in 'tow' and ready to pop chaff at the nearest sight of missile attacks at a more accurate range, it seemed unlikely that Hejin's vessel would be easily stopped. Being well out of gravity range, the ship was beyond the planetary well and, once it had come about (making sure to reinforce the rear deflectors), it would initiate the jump to hyperspace, quickly followed by the trio of craft left behind.
The freighter, meanwhile, was another story. Having been snagged by the tractor beam, tt had been struck by a quartet of turbolaser shots and, shortly afterwards, a pair of torpedoes. Survival rate was highly unlikely. In fact, the continued existence of the ship was quite unlikely as well.
