Gregorius Gemmell luxuriated in the warm fire as he lay upon a bed of furs in the suite given to him by the IGBC, eager to please one of the Emperor's nearest and dearest friends. Deamora had been a naughty boy, he thought as he lay comfortably ensconced as he read his data pad idly. In the corner of the room were a selection of his eunuchs playing a lyre and a harp respectively.

He inclined gently, letting the fur caress his shapely buttocks and strong firm legs as he pulled himself to sit up. He clicked across to the dossier for the imminent meeting, familiarizing himself with the files as he listened to the plangent music gentle caressing his cochlea.

...

Some time later. As Deamora's vessel arrived it was guided to dock at a berth and he was quickly ushered to the meeting room.

Lord Gemmell sat in the large meeting room on one side of a rather imposing desk. He was dressed in a simple green velvet military style uniform with tiny aurodium buttons. On the other side was a spartan chair, rather in contrast to his high backed leather affair. The room was lit down the centre with floor lamps giving a dull glow, while the edges of the room were kept deliberately dark. Gemmell's own desk and the area around it was lit by a small desk lamp. The Blast doors in the windows were kept closed.

In the room were his bodyguards, six men of the Emperor's Royal Guard, two stood silent behind him while two more waited as sentinels each side of the blast door, the final two walked unseen in the shadows of the room. Every action they made indicated a calm which belied a barely concealed violent posture. These guards and his half-dozen functionaries and two eunuchs were his whole retinue. Unlike many he did not see being in high position in the Empire as a chance to surround himself with glory (although he did when it was appropriate), neither did he travel in his own capital ship. Gemmell was valued by the Emperor for his subtle grasp of the internal politics of the Empire and he had been most displeased by the butchery on Alurion.

Gemmell took the opposite approach to that of Tarkin, feeling it was in error to use massive force unnecessarily where a silent blade or word in the right ear would have the same effect. While the threat of force should always remain there, exploiting the neuroses or fears of his foes to cow them into line was far more effective in his experience than a turbolaser blast. The Empire was a machine, and Gemmell took the approach that you did not fix a machine by smashing part of it, but by repairing it, and perhaps removing a few broken cogs.

As Deamora entered the room, Gemmell sat quietly, making a note on the flimplast dossier regarding the Alurion affair on his table.

Heavy boot steps echoed through the hall as Ali'Zarin walked down the metal hall way, his eyes looking towards each guard as he pass them. His heavy robes keeping his form hidden as he passed each guard before he stopped in front of the doors. His eyes on them as he brought his hand up lightly, waving his hand in a small motion as the doors opened before he stepped inside. The hood keep his face covered in shadows as he motioned with his hand again. The chair slowly moving across the room until it rest against the opposite wall as he noticed the guards in the room.

"Six Royal Guards seem to be overkill for a simple meeting." He only spoke that single line before he stood silently, his arms coming up as he crossed them over his chest and stood quietly.

"Sit. You can dispense with the hood Inquisitor Deamora. I have little fondness for the insecurely masculine or concealing postures adopted by some members of the Inquisition and they have absolutely no place in this Chamber. I am a Representative of the Emperor himself and you will render respect unto me as such." he said firmly, not commenting on the guard. They were there for his protection as a servant of the Emperor, and if necessary, to restrain this Inquisitor. As he walked up the room he would find his force powers suddenly impotent due to a pair of Yslamiri concealed beneath the desk, such was the stock and trade of one who had long worked with the simple minded bullies who were branded "Inquisitors".

"Now. Inquisitor, tell me what transpired at Alurion. Be aware this is an official hearing."
