| In the Garos system, a Consular-class Cruiser Charger c70 Refit tore through the vacuum of space. Within its confines was the crew, the King of Deralia, five of the King's closest advisers, eight of Deralia's legendary Praetorian Guards, and a team of six architects in the employ of the Deralian Royal Engineering Corps. It had an escort of six V-19 Torrent Starfighters, all of which were equipped with their own hyperdrive. It was to Garos IV they were headed, all in the formal colors of the royal family of Deralia, purple, but retaining the color scheme of the Republic Navy during the Clone Wars, the Open Circle emblem being replace by that of Deralia.
The Consular was the royal family's personal transport, the Imperator, and the fighters were also from the Praetorian Guards. While the Army was still being re-formed and trained, the Praetorian Guard served as the armed forces of Deralia, however for these fourteen guards, it was a relief to be in their normal stations again. It was a relief for the King to finally get off Deralia for a couple of days. He was to make a trip to Coruscant at the beginning of his reign, but he was unable to do so due to his duty to his homeworld. Perhaps the last leg of this trip could include finally making that trip.
While he was down below in his personal quarters, in the cockpit, the commander spoke down towards Garos IV on a comm connection. "This is Captain Lutorius Aquila of the Imperator, carrying King Deralius the Twentieth and his retinue, requesting permission to land in Ariana's spaceport." he said, watching the above viewscreen, awaiting a response.

| The Garosian Palace was aflutter with activity as Ja’nar oversaw the preparations for this state visit. It was highly unusual for them to be hosting another monarchy, it had been years since there had been any state function held, at least a formal one. Ja’nar would get a call that they were preparing to land and would dash off to her quarters to get dressed appropriately.
Garos’ air control would get the communication for the Imperator. “Captain Aquila of the Imperator, this is Controller Stark, your party will be rerouted to the palace landing pads, updated coordinates are being sent. You are cleared to land as soon as you receive them. Enjoy your stay.” The Deralian delegation would receive the new coordinates to the palace landing pads. The landing area was installed during Ja’nar’s mother’s reign. They always seemed to have visiting royalty from nearby planets and parties that brought in a lot of close family friends who would prefer to arrive closer to the palace. Ja’nar rarely had use for the large area until now.
When the shuttle and escort landed there would be just a small welcoming party. Ja’nar’s people had better things to do than to put on a show for a visiting royal. While she enjoyed a large welcoming, she tended to like to go unnoticed. She would stand on a walkway leading to palace, her hands clasped behind her back as she watches the ships come in. Behind her would be a four member honor guard in their dress uniforms of crimson and gold and Mackey, a man who played many roles in Ja’nar’s life, guard, advisor, father. Ja’nar herself wore a gown of pale blue starsilk, starjewels hanging from her neck and ears. She hadn’t wanted to wear a crown or tiara this afternoon but Mackey had talked her into it. The ring of starjewels rested on her artfully tangled brown curls. She would glance to Mackey who stood at her side and took in a deep breath. This would be an interesting few days.

| The pilot, Lieutenant Aulus Cerialis, shifted their trajectory upon the transmission from air control, headed them towards the palace landing pads based upon the coordinates given. The pilots in the V-19 Torrent Starfighters shifted, without order, flawlessly, as was expected of them. Confirming that Lieutenant Cerialis had control of the vessel, Captain Aquila rose from his chair upon closing the comm with air control with "Roger that, Garos control. Imperator, out," and then left the cockpit. He took the turbolift down a level, and then walked into the salon pod. Usually, the salon pod was an escape pod, or secure conference room, however aboard the Imperator, it had become a miniature throne room.
As he entered the room, he knelt into a bow of respect to the King. "My Liege..." he said, with an almost holy reverence. "Yes, Captain?" responded the King, with a smile to the Captain of his guard. Captain Aquila was a man of duty and honor, with total, uncorruptable allegiance to the crown of Deralia, and more importantly, the royal family. "Sire, we have arrive at Garos. We will be landing momentarily." he informed the King. The King nodded, "Thank you, Captain." and with that, the Captain was dismissed and allowed to stand and return to the bridge while his retinue prepared to disembark.
The palace's hangar would bear witness to the Consular-class Space Cruiser Chargerc70 Refit and it's six V-19 Torrent Starfighters landing with the utmost military precision, with the fighters landing along the sides of the Imperator in a perfect line, three to each side. The craft were adorned with the paint scheme seen in use by the Republic during the Clone Wars, however something was different about them. Instead of the white base, they were gold, and instead of red, they were purple, with the emblem of Deralia replacing any Open Circle Fleet or Galactic Republic emblems.
Before the side of the Imperator opened up, the cockpits of the V-19s, opened, with the pilots exiting and forming a line at the edge of the boarding ramp. They proceeded to kneel, after which the King exited with his personal detail following him. Once he was beyond the knelt pilots, they rose and snapped to attention as the rest of the passengers of the Imperator walked out. The King and his retinue would walk along the side of the Imperator and to the Garos delegation at the front of the ship, stopping in front of them. Captain Aquila walked forward, "I am Captain Lutorius Nicolò Aquila, Prefect of the Praetorian Guard, presenting His Majesty, Deralius the Twentieth, of Deralia and Deralian Dominions." said the Captain, who then gave a bow from the waist as King Deralius stepped forward. It was a grand entry, and presentation, unlike the modest welcoming of the Garosians. Deralius, too, wore his crown, although unlike Queen Ja'nar, he did so willingly, and with a sense of pride, and near arrogance at first glance; however, Queen Ja'nar would find that he was perhaps one of the most modest and level-headed regents she would meet in the galaxy, a sharp contrast to his outward appearence.

| Elsewhere on Garos IV, in the resort city of Zila, a less ostentatious event was playing out. An odupiendo race on a track situated beautifully between the shores of the Locura Ocean and scenic Mount Berin, on the outskirts of the city. Drayson de Vega's attention wasn't on the scenery, however, but rather the race. Having traded his business suit for a floral shirt and trilby hat, de Vega had wasted no time in finding a bit of recreation upon his landing on Garos IV. The landing itself was inauspicious, a far cry in fashion from the arrival of King Deralius; de Vega's droid pilot had simply landed him in Ariana, and he'd found his way to Zila where, he was told, he could find lascivious women and games of chance. Both appealed to him, but it was his impulse to gamble, in this case, that had brought him to the odupiendo race.
He had bought his way into an exclusive booth, and on the wall was an impressive bank of monitors displaying the odupiendo races on the track below as well as other races and events. De Vega sat in an armchair in view of the monitors, eating from a handful of alcholic Cularin berries as he watched one race with particular interest. "An honor guard of four," said an old Garosian fellow seated beside him, shaking his head. De Vega looked at him, then followed his gaze to one of the monitors showing the reception of King Deralius, in Ariana. "Her mother was such a gracious host," the man reflected, wistfully.
"So that is Queen Cerra?" Drayson asked.
The man nodded. "And King Deralius, of Deralia," he explained.
"Ah, yes." Drayson had heard that Deralius was visiting Garos, too. Possibly for the same reason as him, he thought. No matter—it was the Queen who interested him and who he hoped to meet soon. Drayson's secretary, who had remained behind on the ship, had informed the palace of his arrival on Garos IV and informed them that he would be available this afternoon and evening, as well as tomorrow, and looked forward to meeting her in person. Her invitation to stay in the palace was one he intended to accept, but in the meantime he waited. "Damn," he said, having seen the odupiendo he'd waged on come in a close second. "Well, I'm out 100 credits."
"A gambling man, I see," the old man said, cordially.
Drayson glanced at him with an eyebrow raised. "I've been known to take a risk on a potential profit," he said, "You wouldn't happen to know of any interesting games of chance in Zila tonight, would you?"
The man smiled. "Oh yes," he said, "Duke Portius hosts a sabacc game in his suite at the Hotel Locura every Satunda. He's a miserable drunk, but he plays a mean hand while he's sober and plays for high stakes, too."
"That a fact?" Drayson mused. He conversed with the fellow for a bit, about the sabacc game as well as the fellow's rueful thoughts on the decline of the Garosian monarchy—something that de Vega declined to believe until he'd seen it himself. Queen Cerra, despite appearing morose now and then, was undeniably passionate; the principled stands she took in the Imperial Senate were proof enough of this. But was this passion lost upon her own people? Drayson didn't know. He had more immediate concerns; his meeting with her, of course (and Deralius too, perhaps?), and now a certain sabacc game at the Hotel Locura this evening, also. In the meantime, he popped another Cularin berry into his mouth and settled in for the next race. The sun was high over Zila. The day was young.

| Ja’nar would smile pleasantly at all of the pomp and circumstance that seemed to surround this king. She took a very different approach than he did it seemed. She found no need to show off, to show up with a large entourage. Ja’nar however would step forward giving Deralius a small nod of her head, they were equals, at least in her eyes. Not that it matter what he thought. Ja’nar was use to being looked down upon by off worlders, especially those who had strong ties with certain senators and governors within the Imperial Senate. Ja’nar would move to hug Deralius, placing a short, small kiss on each of his cheeks before pulling away, her eyes almost sparking “I am so glad that you could make it, I do hope you enjoy your stay with us.” Ja’nar would motion towards the palace sitting behind the lush gardens, She would begin to move along the walkway as Mackey falls into step beside her as some of the palace staff come to help Deralius’ people with their belongings and moving them into rooms. Ja’nar was a fast talking woman, one that was often like a whirlwind when she wished to be and this was one of those times “I can show you to the guest quarters were your whole party will be housed for the duration of your visit or we can always get right down to work. I honestly prefer to work, but I do understand if you wish to rest.”
Elsewhere on Garos IV. A man sitting near Drayson and the other snorted as he listened in on their converstation. He was a middle aged man with silver hair and icy blue eyes, there was something wild about the way he looked. He would only shake his head, obiviously these children knew nothing of Ja’nar’s mother. She was a gracious host sure, but she was also a spice addict, a whore who opened her bed to any who wished to share it and an awful mother. But what could he expect from off worlders? They knew nothing of Garos, of its history or its people. The deep love they had for their queen, or at least that most of them had.

| For Deralius, this display was not a need, nor a want, but a requirement of one of his position. It was less a personal view, and more a Deralian view of the monarchy. To him, personally, every world's culture was different, and every individual was different, thus some monarchies would not be the same as others. Part of him, as reflex, did look down upon the modesty of the Garosian display, but that was an aspect of Deralian culture. Regardless, he welcomed Ja'nar's hug with open arms, and returned her kisses to the cheek. The retinue behind him all give a waist bow to the Queen.
"It is an honor and a pleasure to finally meet you in person. I must say, you are far more beautiful than the holovids gives you credit." he said, before walking with her, his own retinue falling in behind him. "My people will probably need rest, but I am more than willing to get under way if you are. You can show them to the guest house while conduct our talks." he said to her, with all of those that had accompanied him, aside from two of the Praetorian Guards that had travelled inside the Imperator with him, ready to head to the guest house for some rest.

| A small blush would touch Ja'nar's cheeks, she was not use to compliments, she has surrounded herself by people who spoke to her openly, and usually refused to feed into her ego, so it was nice to hear some kind words, "You are far too kind and I am sure some of the holovids have found my best angles." she would flash him a smile as she leads him through the lush gardens. Greenery spread out on either side of them, large trees towering over walkways and small beds of brightly flowers, the branches of the trees weaving together to make a roof over them as they moved closer to the palace. "I am glad you are more than willing to get right to work. I was very pleased when I received your transmission about an embassy. I like to think of Garos as a cultural center, especially since we house one of the largest universities in the galaxy. Which I would love to take you on a tour of if we have time." she was almost beaming as she spoke about the university, it was something she truly believed in that she was proud of. It was the gem of Garos, at least it was in her eyes. She would lead them into the palace, the polished marble floors glimmering in the soft sunlight that filtered through the large floor to ceiling windows. There were tables every few yards along the long quiet corridor, only their footsteps and voices echoed, on each table was a vase which was filled with fresh flowers from the palace gardens, it was almost as if they had attempted to create a structured garden indoors. She would turn to the right, walking alongside of Deralius down another corridor that ended at a large staircase that she began to climb. As she reached the top of the stairs, there was a lovely portrait of her 'family'. Ja'nar sat on a throne of silver in a gown of the deepest midnight blue, a proper crown of star jewels sparkling on top of her head, her hair was pulled back, braided and pinned up. She was smiling, it was a small knowing smile, her deep brown eyes seemed to focus on the viewer, as if she knew their secrets. On her lap was a little boy, who was only around 4 at the time of the painting sat with a small crown of gold on his head of brown hair, but his eyes, his eyes were those of his father, a dazzling icy blue that sparkled with laughter, the laughter of a joke the viewer would never know. Directly behind the throne stood an older man, it was the man who was currently walking beside Ja'nar. Her guard, her father in a way, Mackey. In the painting he was wearing a formal uniform of black and silver, an impressive array of medals pinned to his chest, medals he did not wear today. To the left of him was another man in a similar black uniform, another guard who was much younger, He was closer to Ja'nar in age, perhaps a bit older than her. His lips were curled into a coy little smile, his eyes showed the mischief that he was about to cause. On the right of Mackey stood a man who had been seen in the senate before, Milliardo Peacecraft, a friend to the Queen and her trusted physician. He was stern and serious, wearing just a simple suit with a lavender tie, one that Ja'nar had forced him to wear. As they reached the top of the stairs she would take another right leading to one of the guest wings of the palace, "This hallway will be yours to use while you visit. All of the rooms are open for your use and the one at the end of the hall would be best suited to your liking." It has been years since they were last used. Ja'nar did not invite family to stay nor foreign royals. She did not have a large parties fueled for days by the finest spice in the galaxy. No. She enjoyed the quiet when she was at home as much as possible.

| ((Since Drayson's character has taken a rather abrupt turn in the RP, and due to Ja'nar's busy RL, I'm pulling out of the thread by auto'ing Deralius having to suddenly return home due to issues which will be coming up shortly in the RP. Ja'nar, once you're solid again, I'd love to, however, try this again. I apologize for my seeming aloofness in regards to this thread, just had a lot of RL issues come up myself when this started.))

| (( And I didn't see your post, I'm afraid. I figured you and Deralius would be at it for awhile before I'd have a place to jump in, so I wasn't watching the thread closely. To answer you, however, I'm also good either way. I'm also still up for this thread if you are—despite my character resigning from RimCo and taking up a new job, RimCo still exists and involves a number of people so I wouldn't consider it a wasted effort to continue this thread, if perhaps we assume it takes place 1 to 2 weeks in the past. Since I'm down to continue, and if Ja'nar is too, would you reconsider reconsidering, Deralius? ))
