Refuel at Chandaar

A single YZ-775 and a single Action VI transport dropped out of hyperspace in the proper trade lanes of Chandaar. Both bore the insignia of independent cargo vessels, which to some, might mark them as smugglers, but enough honest freight-runners existed that it was plausible that they were a part of the latter and not the former. Initial scans of vessels, military and civilian would be undertaken before they moved along the freight lanes. Chandaar, capital of the Cronese Mandate, would likely be a busy trade hub, so odds were good their scans would come back accurate.

A few minutes afterwards, a JumpMaster 5000 and a modified Telgorn dropship appeared as a pair as well, putting some distance between themselves and the pair of vessels that had arrived first. Moments later, an escort dropped out, a quartet of Planetary Defender starfighters, that formed up on either side of the JumpMaster 5000 and the Telgorn. These vessels would conduct their own scans as well, waiting to be hailed by Chandaar Control.

The moment the vessels dropped from hyperspace they were picked up immediately on the scanners of the vessels in and around Chandaar space. Three Marauder Class corvettes had remained at Chandaar, incase another attack was decided to be focused on the capital world. The first message received would be a rather ominous and demanding one. "Unknown vessels Identify yourselves at once. This will be your only warning." The other attacks near and across Mandate space had caused a great deal of problems, and with the possibility of other attacks, no one was taking any chances.

Near Chandaar also sat an Imperial Naval Berth, sitting in its docks were a few Star Destroyers and other Imperial vessels, along with an Interdictor, the vessels having been put on alert due to the request made by Robeir XXII to Imperial Naval command. The captain of the Interdictor though would have to get authorization to activate the Gravity Wells, so for the moment, they remained shut off.

The Impavid, a Victory I class Star Destroyer, was already docked at the Imperial Navy Berth at Chandaar for refueling and resupply after their short jaunt to Neftali (one which seemed entirely unnecessary). It was a busy place, each dock with a ship in it, and when one left, another filled it.

"Captain?" Lt. Nigel DeSade said from his console. "We've been hailed by Chandaar Control...we're being put on alert due to another potential attack." She would turn her chair so that she could face him.

"The threat, Lieutenant?" She asked as she tapped her stylus agitatedly against the edge of her console and frowned as she awaited his response.

"Nothing has been said yet, Captain, but they will let us know as soon as possible." He replied.

It seemed quite unlikely that a valuable Imperial resource such as an Interdictor would simply be sitting at Chandaar and not on a mission; the Empire was said to be notoriously stingy with such craft, after all. Nonetheless, it was in a berth and not out and about the lanes. It also seemed odd that such a bustling world as Chandaar would question four craft arriving separately among flurries of other transport or civilian craft. Chandaar was, after all, the capital of the Mandate and likely to see a lot of civilian vessels of numerous make and model.

In this case though, it was the sheer fact of the Interdictor that would prevent the Red Mynocks from any action concerning the planet. Despite the fact that they were still well out of the planet's gravity well, and more than seventy kilometers from the nearest hostile vessel, the ships went engines full and turned about, emergency jump coordinates for scattering already programmed in. As they came about, however, they fired at any civilian vessels that happened to be near. No missiles or torpedoes flew, but laser and turbolaser blasts, designed to strike at any near ships and cause havoc and mayhem to cover their retreat. In a bare few moments, they would achieve hyperspace. Odds of any real destruction of ships around them would be small, but injuries and damages were likely to abound.

Chandaar had been put on lock down, no civilian vessels had arrived, nor where any leaving. There would be no targets for the vessels to fire at, making their discharge of weapons a show of what their intentions where. The three Marauder Class corvettes began to move slowly closer, yet remained near the Imperial Berth and Chandaar, monitoring the vessels that continued to wildly fire into space as the Marauder corvettes crafted an accurate descriptions of the vessels before they broadcasted the descriptions across the Cronese Mandate, informing other security forces of the vessels that had arrived at Chandaar that were now firing into space.

Considering this action was concurrent the attack happening elsewhere in the Cronese Mandate, also concurrent to the attack on the station, there was no real reason for Chandaar to be on lockdown, nor was there any real reason to suspect these craft. However, if there were no ships around them, then common sense dictated they'd hardly open fire, and without that, the Cronese Mandate vessels were free to scan and look, but they'd hardly have a clue as to hostile intent when the ships instead simply departed on their jump to hyperspace.

Considering this action is concurrent to the attacks elsewhere in the Cronese Mandate, and that the crews on those vessels and people in those locations wouldn't be completely brain dead and not call in the fact that they've come under attack, then there would be a real reason for Chandaar to be on lockdown after receiving two separate reports from two different locations of attacks, which would in fact cause the security forces of the Cronese Mandate to be on a full alert and would give them a reason to lock down their inhabited worlds and question every vessel that would arrive, including random freighters popping in.

The vessels that protect Chandaar would let the freighters leave as they continued to monitor the system for any signs of other vessels as the Marauders began a routine patrol of the Chandaar system to ensure that no vessels were waiting to strike, before they would call off the lockdown.
