All the Ethnic Cronese die

The Ethnic Cronese were slaughtered, en masse by the Embarilite Clans. Several dozen escaped in small lighters and shuttles. Those who remained were wiped out to a man. Either way, the Cronese problem was gone.

Their ruined towns and empty buildings would remain empty and unused, the Embarilites not wanting to sully themselves by living in Cronese filth. They didnt mind stealing anything useful though.

Lord Gilbert and a dozen soldiers with some women and children managed to blast out of the city before the bombardment wiped it out. He had been injured and knocked unconcious in the early battle and so had not been able to stay behind and die with his people, he was greatly grieved at the slaughter and intended to return to the mandate and enlist in the navy.

It should be emphasized that they did not die easily. And were systematically hunted down and slaughtered.
