| The Fist of the Suns, a Firespray-class vessel, slid into Dantooine's atmosphere like a hand into a glove. The ride was slightly bumpy to its sole pilot though, for many of the ship's internal dampeners had been removed, the better to make it a ship for the hunt. It was here, at Garang Spaceport's landing field, that Dimitri Maximov would make the trade of his captured Jedi and the Wookiee in exchange for a sizable bounty. Under the guise of Harold Pfiefer, whose name he was presently utilizing, he was to meet with an Imperial retrieval team, so he would believe. Transmitting his data to Garang Control, Maximov tilted the ship back so as to land and settled lightly to the world's surface. Unbuckling, he moved back into the hold to check on the unconscious pair.

| Maximov would not have to wait long. From Dantooine's pleasant upper atmosphere would descend a pair of Sentinel-class landing craft. One was registered by a series of numerals and alphabet; the second as Dark Spirit. The pair settled at the far end of the landing field after transmitting their own IFF to the Garang Control and stating their purpose as official Imperial business. From the ramps of both craft came forth servants of the Empire. Dressed in his customary robes and faceless projection, Rath Deschain, ISB agent this day, came forth in time with a squad of Purifiers who emerged from the opposite shuttle. Drawn up into a small formation, the stood at port arms while Deschain crossed the landing field to halt at a point near the middle, watching the ship of the man who'd brought him a Jedi.

| Maximov felt the dark presence long before the Imperials ever entered the atmosphere. To his senses, it was like a fog of night blocking out the sun with no chance for light. Acting quickly, he masked his own small presence, suddenly nervous and hoping the man who was coming to meet him would not sense what was hidden. The Imperial vessels registered on his sensors and he prepared the Jedi and the Wookiee for transport; strapped down to hover-tables and still heavily sedated and bound. Gathering himself, he activated the ramp and walked down, pushing one table with either hand. There, across from him, stood his dark partner in this particular endeavor; a man so black that to Maximov's eyes, he seemed to take the sun from the day around them.
"Agent Deschain," he said by way of greeting as he stopped before the man. "I have the pleasure of presenting you with the Jedi fugitive, Jed Dexier. It was no easy task getting hold of him and I assure you, he is the genuine article." Moving slowly, Maximov dug into a waist pouch and gingerly retrieved a lightsaber, that he offered, hilt first, to Deschain.

| "Mr. Pfiefer, a pleasure, I am sure." Deschain's tone was flat as he examined the pair of drugged beings. With a brief motion of his hand, he called to one of the Purifiers, who approached with a scanner. Checking the bound human's palms and pricking the skin once to obtain a DNA sample, the trooper went to work and in a matter of moments, looked back up at Deschain. "It's Dexier, sir. We have a match on prints and DNA records."
With a nod to the trooper, Deschain looked back to Pfiefer, then down at the Jedi and the Wookiee. "A powerful pair, Mr. Pfiefer. However did you manage to catch them unaware? It's no mean feat to best a Wookiee, let alone a Jedi and a Wookiee. Regale me with the story, if you'd be so kind?" Reaching out, he retrieved the lightsaber from the bounty hunter while waiting for this story. There was something amiss here; Deschain had been distracted as of late and was having trouble focusing. He dismissed the feeling out of hand, more wanting to pay attention so that the correct account could be filed about Dexier.

| "It was luck, Agent Deschain. I was on Nar Shaddaa and this chap and his friend happened into the same cantina I was drinking at. Some of the patrons outed him as Jedi and in the ensuing firefight, I saw an opportunity. I feigned friendship and assisted the Jedi from his attackers. When we fled through the alleys towards the spaceport, I assured them that I had a vessel that could get them offworld. Once on-board, I let the Jedi and his companion take the controls and then shot them in the back. Stun rifle is a handy thing to have." Maximov chanced an amused grin, then sneered down at the Jedi. "Truth be told, it was easier than I thought."

| The story was plausible enough. Not all Jedi were as attentive as they could have been, and it was possible, quite possible, that what the bounty hunter said was true. "Acceptable, Mr. Pfiefer, and commendable. The Lieutenant here will take care of the transfer of bounty money. Best of luck to you in the future." Deschain turned and walked back towards his craft, leaving five troopers to maneuver the pair of drugged and bound captives into the second landing craft. The Lieutenant would, in turn, sign over the credits to Pfiefer's account, making him all that much richer, and at the end of the day, Deschain would be able to cross another Jedi off the Emperor's wanted list.

| Maximov breathed a mental sigh of relief when the dark man turned away. He was almost on autopilot as he signed for the credits to go into the account of Harold Pfiefer; an account that would have the money transferred out and dispersed within a number of other accounts via a myriad of electronic pathways by day's end. Once the transaction was complete, Maximov nodded once in farewell and headed back to his vessel, free of his burden and quite a bit richer.
