| Animus was a desperate man. He was disoriented, likely, even as he tried to right himself, and Deschain, focused, had a better view of what was going on, traveling straight and sure. Deschain had altered his body position slightly as Animus was righting himself to drop feet-first; a bad move under most circumstances. However, while Animus was much closer to the palace walls, Deschain was now angled out and in open air, with perhaps fifteen feet between them. As such, he was ready in a sense for Animus to try and strike the only pursuit currently capable of capturing him, he simply didn't know how. A lightsaber was clutched in his left hand, the Force in his right. When the cloak flapped up towards him suddenly, he interposed the lightsaber diagonally.
Deschain did not expect the lightning, but the cloak was bisected upon his red blade, and as both halves fell away, the weapon caught the first stream of lightning upon itself, crating a crackling current between the two men. It was unfortunate that Animus had no second arm. Deschain's right hand shot outwards, pushing in a swift, powerful burst designed to slam Animus brutally against the rough side of the palace, tearing clothes and skin and even causing internal injuries, if the man was unlucky. Furthermore, it would cause Animus to slow just enough for Deschain, ideally, to ram directly into him.

Upon leaping from the Emperor's throne room, Animus and Inquisitor Deschain in close pursuit would find themselves far from street level, but simply on another of the many terraces and spires that made up the substantial two kilometer width of the Imperial Palace. Beyond the periphery of the palace, for that matter, were mighty parade grounds on which tens of thousands of the Empire's best troops, armor, and even entire capital ships were on display. Beyond that were bureaucratic and ambassadorial residences, and it was here that Moff Brandt's office was situated. The Imperial Palace was quite capable of defending itself, but the surrounding city—that was Brandt's responsibility, and he was eager to demonstrate to the Emperor the efficacy of his forces.
On receiving word of the escaped Jedi, Brandt ordered the alert raised throughout the massive Imperial Palace compound (though not in a manner that would alert the public to the danger, nonetheless 'Gundark' would receive the alert also). The security in this region was once described in a guide to Coruscant as "Extremely High. Security measures such as weapons and explosives sensors, retinal scanners, thumb print identifiers, etc. are present in buildings. Stormtroopers and/or Coruscant Security Forces are present on a permanent basis. Security droids may be present. Holocameras are present. In many cases, automated defenses, deflector and/or particle shields, and airspeeder or starfighter support are present. Region is typically located in a 'no fly zone,' except for military or diplomatic clearances. Surface-based turbolasers may be present."
As the plethora of troops at his disposal were scrambled and TIE fighters and CSF airspeeders could already be seen from Brandt's window entering the "no fly zone" for reconaissance purposes, the Moff had no doubt that the Jedi would not, indeed could not, escape. He reclined in his chair, dropping what he'd been doing to watch the response of his troops from his safe and seculded perch.
(( You can skip me from here. Just wanted to establish my presence. ))
His Excellency, Rainier Brandt Moff of the Imperial Sector (i.e. Coruscant, et. al.)

| Animus had suffered another setback. Deschain had another lightsaber in his possession. The man appeared to come prepared. Perhaps he had expected Animus to be as defiant as he was? Surely, he must have known that Animus wouldn't allow himself to be sever from the Force. Most Force users feared being without the Force, because that is all they have known. That is precisely the reason why Animus defected. That, and he was betrayed.
It didn't help when Deschain used the Force to slam the rogue dark jedi against the walls. A loud groan would be heard coming from Animus. His dark robes would begin to shred even more, causing more burns within his skin. If there was any internal injuries, he wouldn't recognize it and would find out about it later. He began hearing sounds of airspeeders and fighters. The man knew they weren't friendly. His window of opportunity was closing for as long as Deschain was being a thorn in his side. Animus needed to find a way to escape, and fast. Sure, his opponent had both arms intact and a lightsaber present. That was a major setback for Animus.
Luckily for him, he still had an advantage of leverage no matter how much Deschain have battered him. It wasn't the Force, but merely a law of physics. Animus was attempting to pull off another crazy move, one not unlike to the one he did while fighting his former Jedi Master. He continued to feel the burning, and his body continued to be battered. However, for this move, it didn't require much strength. The rogue was able to regain his composure, waiting for Deschain to make his move by ramming directly into him. Oh, did he make a mistake on that part.
While Deschain was attempting to ram, Animus dodged his head a little bit while using his sole hand to grab ahold of the lightsaber hilt down to the very precise moment. Using the lightsaber to pierce against the wall, creating a trail of heated and molten metal. At same time, he used one of his legs to immediately kick the Inquisitor in the chest. The chest serves as the central point of several sentient beings' bodies for balance. It would cause Deschain to spiral out of the way, and head for the surface. After he got Deschain out of the way, at least for the time being, Animus grasped the hilt tightly. He extended out his sawed-off arm to at least help slow him down his acceleration toward one of the ceilings.
"Help me. I'm at the Imperial Palace." That was all he would say, as he sent the message to Mira via the Force. She may not be able to respond, but he hoped that his trust in her wasn't misplaced. Witnessing that the ceiling was coming up, he bent his legs a little bit to make for a better landing. Upon landing, he nearly collapsed onto the ceiling. It was a good thing he had a lightsaber to help slow himself down. He would feel the strains of both knees, as he slowly rose to his feet.
Wasting no time, he used his sole hand to pull Deschain's lightsaber out of the wall. The rogue didn't even bother to look up to witness the beautiful view of lightsaber trail. He didn't have time to. With Inquisitor Deschain temporarily out of the way, now he had to jump all over several ceilings on the way down before the Imperial forces closes down on him completely. At least he had Deschain's lightsaber in his possession, as he jumped onto the nearby ceiling. Animus wasn't sure how much strength he had left, but he wasn't going to let the Empire get the best of him. He would either escape, or fight to the death...even by himself.

| Word of the rogue Inquisitor filtered into the ISB office as well as being spread among the squadrons of stormtroopers. For the most part, Mira paid no mind to it as she sat in her office and filled out reports that had needed to be done for weeks, until she overheard a conversation outside of her office door.
"I heard it was some Inquisitor named Animus. Busted right out the window is what the clone said." Mira looked up, tilting her head a little as she strained to hear more, but they had already passed and were out of her earshot. She slammed her stylus down and pushed herself out of her chair before she strode out of her office and moved to the window. Outside, squadrons were forming and parties roving in opposite directions to search the city blocks.
That was when she heard him. It was a sudden invasion into her mind and she hadn't expected it, but she recognized the voice and the need for help would not fall on deaf ears (so to speak). She would glance around the office before she retreated back to hers and grabbed her bag. Once she was out of sight of any of her coworkers, Mira broke into a run in order to make her way to the hanger bay. She slowed only briefly enough to flash her badge before she went in.
The nearest ship would have to do, a GAT-12h skipray blastboat, that she felt could have been more well maintained judging by the blaster sears on the hull. It was working condition obviously, else it wouldn't have been there. Once on board, she sat down at the controls and fired up the engines. It wouldn't have been odd for her to have been taking a ship, but should someone ask, she could have used the excuse that she knew the Inquisitor and she knew where he could have been. It was the truth, but they wouldn't know that she wouldn't be bringing him in unless there was a reason to.
The control was similar enough to another ship that she had flown before, so she piloted it out of the hanger and made way towards the Imperial Palace. There would be only so far that she could have gone before she would have just started circling and looking for the Inquisitor. "Come on Animus, where are you?!" She said, though no one could have heard her except herself.

| Deschain was caught off-guard by the kick to his chest. With the sliding and what with likely having the breath knocked clean out of him, there was little force behind Animus' blow, but it was enough to push Deschain back and away. The lightsaber Animus held, oddly, was the same one Deschain had confiscated from the former Inquisitor on Tatooine, so in a sense, while Animus held Deschain's lightsaber, in reality he had regained his own back; an interesting turn of events. Regaining his balance took a matter of moments, and he adjusted his angle of fall to come into the wall, meeting it with a rough slam that jolted him. A moment later, both of his own lightsabers were out, gouging furrows in the structure to slow him to a stop, some two hundred feet below Animus, where he came to rest upon a small outcropping.
Looking up, he was able to spot the figure of Animus, easily visible with the red lightsaber he held, activated, and smiled slightly. Animus was now between a rock and a hard place, with no escape upwards and with Imperial soldiers clustering on all levels, as well as Deschain himself below. Taking a moment to catch his breath, the High Inquisitor activated his comm. "Captain Proul, split the Purifiers into their respective platoons. Two platoons on the upper levels, one on the middle and one at the ground. If you see Animus, terminate on sight." Flexing his hands on the lightsaber hilts, he reached up and dug one in, then the next, beginning a long climb up towards Animus.

| OOC note here: I'm gonna need some extra time to get ahold of either Jaron or Karth. I appreciate the patience for all involved in this thread.))
Added (25 Nov 2011, 11:09 AM) --------------------------------------------- Okay, Deschain. After having confer with Karth, and deciding to take his advice. Before I speak, I would like to state that I am not trying to make a big deal out of this or make any objections. I simply am puzzled to how your character gets ahold up to a total of four lightsabers. I know it isn't against the rules and all, but it seems a little odd by the timing of this. Because you didn't reveal what weapons you have at the beginning of the fight. I can understand how you would have two lightsabers, of which I pulled off you as a distraction while another was stolen away from me, which technically was mine. Your profile stated you had two, which would bring a total of three.
I can accept that, because it would make sense for you to snatch my lightsaber around the time of my arrest. To have a fourth one does seem a little excessive. Before I have a chance to post, would you kindly like to explain how you came to acquire the fourth one and why you would need that many. I apologize for holding this up, once again, thank you for your patience.))

| I'm not sure where four lightsabers came from. You are correct, as per the profile, my character carries two lightsabers, plus the one he took from yours on Tatooine, which would only be logical. Now, the lightsaber that Animus used the hurl from Deschain's belt at Palpatine is the same one Deschain initially ignited and attacked Animus with, which in turn, I had decided, was actually Animus' lightsaber. That leaves two at Deschain's belt. I don't see where a fourth one came from? ))

| Wow, I feel like an idiot. I double checked and you are absolutely right; that one's on me. If it's okay with you, I'd like to edit that post to reflect that I did pick it up. Otherwise I wouldn't have let you have your lightsaber back so easily in the later post. Wasn't my intent to leave you weaponless -and- armless after all. ))

| Indeed, Animus was between a rock and a hard place. The options seems to be: let the Imperials come and shoot him to death, or keep on fighting until death. Both, of which, doesn't seem like the best options in the galaxy for him. The dark Jedi had to think up of something fast, looking around the area to scan vigorously. There has to be something working to his advantage, so he used the Force to scan the area thoroughly and fast. All while keeping his lightsaber up as some form of defense.
He did not sense a Force aura other than Agent Deschain. However, he did detect a familiar presence. All too familiar. It was clear, Mira had gotten his message. Her signature radiated from a lone Skipray that was flying around really close by. She made an interesting choice of transportation, but it'll have to do. The Inquisitor leaned against the wall for one quick moment before running toward the edge of the ceiling and used the Force at once to aid in his jump. He overcalculated the jump slightly, but it got him to where he was though the way he landed was unexpected.
The hatch was supposedly opened, if his love had already done so. This would work to his plan, deactivating the lightsaber in the process of putting himself through the hole headfirst. However, a roll was inadvertently made so he landed right on his butt onto the chair right behind Agent Naeva. Wasting no time, he shouted at her. "Go, go, go!" He dropped the lightsaber onto the floor so he could use the Force to pull the hatch closed, as a loud slam would be heard.

| She wasn't sure how she knew to do it, but leaving the hatch open seemed like a good plan at the time. Her hunch proved to be right as the tumbling Inquisitor crashed into the seat behind her. Though she had seen the lightsaber melting through the wall of the building, she still hadn't expected him to just rocket himself into the ship like that. In fact, she probably would have jumped out of her seat from the startle of it all had she not been buckled in.
"Hi to you too." She said as she pulled the throttle and rocketed the ship forward, turning it away from the palace as fast as she could. Mira wasn't the best pilot out there by a long shot, but she could hold her own if the case called for it. This was one of those cases. "I take it things didn't go well?" There wasn't really time for small talk, she knew, but it calmed her down enough to be able to pilot the ship without killing them both.
"And what is the plan?"
