| First she had saved the man from what clearly would have been the death penalty had she not intervened on his behalf.
Then she had petitioned his father, the Tetan King, to have a fleet of ships commissioned.
Even still, she had then suggested that the seditious third son be placated with command of the ships. He had after all, been an Imperial Navy officer once.
This, coupled with their own sordid history of being lovers several years ago, made for what she could only imagine would be a quite loyal placement at the head of the newly forming Empress Teta Sector Fleet, under the command of a one, Prince Raphael Damar. Of course this wouldn't occur for several weeks as there would be some time in between the purchase and requisition of the fleet from Imperial Surplus, Inc - the time it would take to bring the ships within the requirements of the Capital Ships Act (namely the Victory-I Class Star Destroyer), not too mention the time it would take to man the fleet. At first, she imagined most of the crew would consist of Tetan veterans of the Clone Wars coming out of retirement, and the hiring of various others that would leap at the opportunity for steady employment within the ETSF(Empress Teta Security Force), she had wondered if her own pilot Captain Tiyr would want to leave his diplomatic post with her for a more impressive position within the fleet - after all, she could have him placed very highly if she wanted to, such was her pull with the royal family.
She'd discussed what had finally been agreed upon between the King and Imperial Surplus, and while the fleet was modest in Raphael's opinion (Avadrie had very little thought for such things, after all - if Madame Pencron was to believed from her past, what were a few ships compared to the power of her gift?), which led Avadrie to assume that this fleet would not be the means with which to take back the Empire that Zena had told her once existed, many thousands of years ago within her sector. Of course, with the copy of the book that Mr. Winter had given her (she'd made a copy of it on her return trip from Aargau), this Empire had been called the Krath, and legend said that they had wielded the Force - on a level on par with the Jedi. Was this the same gift, the same path that Madame Pencon had sought to teach her, before her untimely death? Her ambition told her yes, this was indeed the same. But the time was not right, nor was she anywhere near strong enough, she thought, to come out into the open, it would simply be suicide. No, to keep to her current plan of appearing on all counts to be a loyal Imperial Senator and servant of the Tetan people.
But her plans were progressing. She would have Raphael placed in command of the fleet. She would continue her contacts with Alyn Stark and Mr. Winter to see just what they might lead to, as her intuition told her there was more to both of the men than they presented, and now Mr. Stark owed her his favor; as the GalacticAid proposal had passed unanimously in the Senate.
She considered that perhaps now there was a fleet to deal with such threats, perhaps she should arrange for the piratical presence among the trade lanes that carried Empress Teta's main export of carbonite should increase - an increase in pirate attacks would do one of two things, justify the need for the ETSF to grow in number and power, or it would call for an increase in the Sector Moff's power and the increase of the Imperial Garrison at the Deep Core Security site. She smiled at the thought, and thanked the Emperor again for his preference for human males, that made making 'friends' in high places so much easier for Avadrie. She'd have to consider it, as well as a way to keep herself far removed from suspicion. Perhaps an assassination attempt, or a kidnapping was in the works? Who knew.
