| The negotiations had been completed between King Leonard Damar of Empress Teta's defense ministers and Imperial Surplus, Inc. All that had remained to be done was for the vessels to be retrofitted as necessary to keep them in accordance with the Capital Vessels Act, which the good Senator volFyr had insisted upon despite some in the Tetan hierarchy thinking that perhaps it might be possible for such modifications not to occur, to be undone upon acceptance of the fleet. However, the fleet had been the Senator's idea, and the King didn't think it wise to cross her considering the high approval rating she had on Empress Teta, and the reputation as a moderate, pro Imperial Senator she was constructing for herself in the Senate. All in all, the time of sector autonomy was long gone - they were a part of the Empire now, and it was best to toe the line.
He wouldn't admit it to his two elder sons, but he very privately was very pleased that Senator volFyr had advocated on behalf of his youngest son Raphael, after his attempted coup. The love of a father for his favorite son is a strong and peculiar thing at times; before it all - he might have wanted to name Raphael his heir regardless, but what of his two older sons? It truly would be a revolution then. Command of the fleet would be an honorable and respected thing for Raphael, and Leonard hoped very fervently in his heart of hearts that his son would take advantage of the great opportunity he had been given.
His son's soon to be flagship, the Victory Class I Star Destroyer soon to be rechristened as the Koros, in honor of the ancient name of his homeworld, even before the reign of the famous Empress Teta from whence the sector and his world took their current names had been modified to be a defensive vessel. It maintained its class 1 hyperdrive, because the plan was that it would routinely patrol the sector and needed the hyperdrive - it had its 10 quad turbolaser batteries converted to standard single turbolaser emplacements. Its hangar had been revamped, its ground complement removed and replaced with added hangar space for the entirety of the Tetan starfighter wing, which only consisted of 48 starfighters. His defense minister had advised him that in the Star Destroyer's role as an anti piracy vessel, it might be wise to have it modified at some point in the future to replace some of the turbolasers with ion cannon emplacements, in order to capture more would be pirates and smugglers. That would of course come if they were able to incorporate Koros Spaceworks within their sector, as his defense minister had advised him it would behoove them to be able to repair their own vessels.
He had been notified some time earlier that day that the convoy from Imperial Surplus had arrived from its last hyperspace way point at the Deep Core security post, and would be arriving within Tetan space shortly. Skeleton crews manned the vessels that were to be delivered, and the appropriate Imperial escort had been provided from the Deep Core security force. King Leonard wasn't looking forward to rubbing elbows with the Moff who was sure to have to come along, but such was the weight of the crown.
The six Consular class Charger refits, intended to the be workhorses of the anti-piracy fleet had not required modification to be kept in line with the Capital Ships Act. They had been named for other worlds in the Empress Teta sector - only one of them was currently inhabited, and it fell under Empress Teta's control as it was. However, the naming of the vessels was intended to reflect that this was the Empress Teta Sector Fleet - and while King Leonard kept his own dreams of Empire in check for the good of his people (and his own continued well being and autonomy), he was quite intent on building up the Empress Teta sector - colonizing the empty worlds that his own held rights too, building up the sector economy. It was said that Cinnagar, the ecumenopolis that covered most of Empress Teta rivaled Imperial Center, so why not glorify the Empire by glorifying Imperial Center's sister world? He had wanted the names of the ships to represent the noble nature of the fleet, the defensive nature of the fleet.
So the Phoros, Keres, Phiris, Tryast, Gillad and Ronika were part of the approaching convoy as well. The star fighter complement was divided into four squadrons, much more simply named Red, Blue, Gold and White squadrons. In time, they would be divided among the Koros, the space station to be placed in Empress Teta's orbit and hopefully stationed to protect the shipyard he soon hoped to have built on Ronika, to both add to the economy and jump-start a colony there. The Mozos and Teta were Pelta Class medical frigates, another standby from the Clone Wars, that Senator volFyr herself had insisted that the crown purchase for its fleet. She argued the obvious merit of having dedicated medical support for the fleet, as well as the humanitarian benefits of being able to project the benevolent nature of the Tetan fleet.
And then there was Empress Station, the Cardan II Space Station that was being hauled along with the convoy in transport containers, and would be constructed on site in Empress Teta's orbit. The intended home base of the fleet, and also focal point of Empress Teta's own private defense. He was excited about how the influx of a requirement for an industry to support the sector fleet and its vessels would filter into the economy of his world and people. (after all, he lived off of taxes).
And so it was that while Senator volFyr and her staff were away on Llord, the ETSF was delivered to the Tetan King, and the preparations were started to man the fleet and construct the space station and get the fleet up and functional and out in the sector, patrolling for pirates, smugglers and other criminals to to further enhance the safety and way of life of the Tetan people.
It also marked the last time that Prince Raphael Damar and Captain Zeal Tiyr would be returning to Empress Teta aboard the Senator's Star Petal, as the Prince would be conferred the rank of Fleet Admiral within the Empress Tetan Sector Fleet, and Captain Tiyr would be promoted to Line Captain within the ETSF and assigned as the commanding officer of the Koros. While it was intended to be Prince Raphael's flagship, it was a move intended to support him as he had responsibility for the entirety of the fleet, and Captain Tiyr has extensive experience that would greatly enhance the Prince's capability to lead the fleet.
