| It had been a little over thirty minutes since Shiva had received the encrypted hypercomm transmission from the exploration group he'd sent to the Danjar Sector. They'd dropped the message, as well as the data file, from a stopover within the Tantra Sector, where they'd paused long enough to get the message to Shiva before jumping away again. One Planetary Defender Starfighter destroyed; one Red Mynock lost on whom Shiva would need to pay compensation. From the recorded images and time stamp, Shiva deduced it had been just under two hours since the Red Mynocks had fled from their pursuers; the holo-stills and jerky footage still made out a clear picture: a pair of Munificent-class star frigates; one easily recognizable Hardcell-class transport, with three others slightly obscured and of course, the unmistakable shape of a Trade federation-model bacta transport with Vulture droid fighters billowing from it.
To Shiva's best knowledge, Kruus and Mallix did not possess that level of weaponry or ships. It could only be one other: Valin Rall, the so-called Lord of Winter. From his dimmed quarters on the Divine Shadow, Shiva considered the implications of engaging Rall at Queyta. There had been no successful scan of the base below; the man could have countless other small craft, as well as static defenses. Oh, Shiva was confident that he could eradicate the Separatist contingent on Queyta, but likely with more losses to his forces than he'd like.
One of the Mynocks, before joining the pirate group, had worked under a fellow names Lars Gemma. Gemma had been quite the terror along parts of the Outer Rim before his pirate fleet had been smashed at Roon. The pilot now in the Red Mynocks and serving under Shiva had been one of the few lucky survivors. Shiva took a moment to consider the rumors he'd heard from the Abrion Sector lately. They were by and far the sector that was most clean of piracy, smuggling and riff-raff, largely due to the uncompromising nature of Moff Geoff Cole and his loyal Rear Admiral Jeremy Brogan, who'd received the commission within the Abrion Sector Fleet for smashing a rebel base at Molavar. Shiva, after all, kept up with the news.
For Shiva, it was only a brief toss of a mental coin. Deal with Rall himself at high risk, or let someone else do it. It was no contest. Calling for one of his droids, he ordered a message composed and sent with all haste.
