As a rule, not much happened on Dantooine. Deralia's recent escapade at Dantooine was the exception to the rule, and had earned the planet its 15 minutes of fame in the Imperial Senate and the media. Since Deralia departed the planet, the rule was in force once more and things, again, were quiet. Under these circumstances—when "nerf tipping" was the most popular antidote to boredom—it wasn't hard to get people's attention or gather them into a crowd. This was apparent when one morning the people of Garang woke up to find the city's water tower painted with the words "Where's Amos?" and gathered around to decide among themselves what to make of it.
Amos Moses, beloved folk hero, bon viveur, town drunk, and veritable renaissance man of Garang, had gone missing during Deralia's special operations on Dantooine—special operations that Deralia denied, but everyone knew had happened. Amos and his "sidekick" Jessup had driven out to confront a group of foreigners who'd landed their ship in Slapp's field and he got shot for his trouble. Jessup made his way back to Garang and told the tale; Amos had been bundled onto the ship, which blasted off and escaped Dantooine with the help of the Deralians up in orbit. Everyone knew they had been Deralian commandos, especially when some of them were captured. Everyone knew they had Amos, and none believed Deralia's denials.
Vincent Le Grange rode up to the small crowd, disembarked, and rested his hands on his hips as he glanced up at the water tower. "What do we got here?" he asked, loudly enough for everyone to hear him. "'Where's Amos?'" he read, "Boy, that's what I want to know!" There was a murmur of agreement in the crowd. Someone said "Damn straight." Another asked, "Hey Colonel, you know who done wrote that up there?" A few knowing glances were exchanged throughout the crowd. Le Grange smiled and shrugged. "Whoever it was, he's thinkin' the same thing I is." Another murmur of agreement, a "Yeah!" here and there. Le Grange went on, glancing from the water tower to the assembled crowd, "I think it's time we found out what them Deralians did to Amos Moses. They mess with him, they mess with all of us, am I right?" Apparently so, from the crowd's response.
Le Grange suggested they take this to the town hall, and sure enough he and they made their way the short distance to the Khoonda administration building. Once there, a few chanted "Where's Amos?" and called on old man Ray to come out on the lawn and address them. Down-home democracy in action.

| Unfortunately Exar was busy in a meeting at the moment. Instead he was made aware of the mob and sent in a replacement to settle them. Approaching the mob, they would realize instantly that this wasn't Exar. "Ladies and Gentlemen, please remain calm. We understand that Amos is a valued member of our planet and rest assured that we are doing everything within our power to retrieve him." The aid would approach the Colonel and hand him a datapad. "Your presents has been requested later tonight at Exar's home." The aid would return inside.

| The crowd dispersed, grumbling. Few would believe that old man Ray was "too busy" to see them ("too busy"? On Dantooine?). Le Grange nodded to the aide as he handed him the note, thanked him kindly, and squinted at it for a moment before handing it to one of his cohorts. "Hoss, read this for me, hey?" he said. Hoss took the note and told him old man Ray wanted to see him that night at his place. "Fair 'nough," Le Grange said, mounting his steed as the other boys did the same. "Let's light out, fellas. Gotta check the fence posts out at blba acres, make sure they's still in place after that storm we had." The square of the Khoonda Administration building emptied as they rode out.

Later that night, being a warm and clear night, Le Grange walked the short distance—alone, this time—from his ranch to old man Ray's house. He liked stargazing and was glad there was no Deralian warship in the sky. Once he was at Ray's house, he made sure the lights were on before he walked up to the door and knocked. "Howdy Ray, it's me Vince!" he called and, without waiting for an answer, pressed the 'open' button to walk in the door. (Dantooinians rarely locked their doors.) "What's cookin'?"

| (After Senator volFyr left.)
Exar stepped in about 20 minutes before Colonel Le Grange decided to step in. Just as Exar was about to pour himself a drink, the good Colonel decided to let himself in and would be met with the backside of Exar. "Make yourself at home, Colonel..." Grabbing another cup, he'd pour another glass and would hand it to him. "Please, have a seat, we have much to discuss." Grabbing his cup, Exar would sit in his chair by the fireplace and there would look at Vincent. "I understand you have hard feelings over the loss of your friend, Colonel." He'd take a drink. "Deralia is trying it's best to deny the fact that they were wrong, but we have evidence against them, Colonel. Rest assured that getting your friend back will be my top priority within the Senate." Exar would turn his gaze into the fire before sighing. "Though, many people seem to think that there are terrorists here... and I appreciate you toning down your... activities if you will..." His gaze would return to Vincent. "Tell me... what are your thoughts for getting Amos back?"
