Things were different this time as the Stars of Arcadia prepared to drop out of hyperspace at Kuantar. Hejin was working alongside Thesh in this run, and it promised to be easy despite the high possibility of raised security and additional vessels at the Loyalist Gas Mining Corporation's facility at Kuantar. It had been profitable in more than one way before, in both hits, and Hejin hoped to walk away with both a large amount of Tibanna gas; enough to purchase a cargo hauler to accompany his own vessel, as well as a few fighter craft. All systems were in the green, shields were up and weapons were hot as they prepared to drop from hyperspace with Thesh beside them.

"Three... two... one... hit it." They dropped out into realspace quite some distance from the planet, ready for anything.

Thesh was more or less "beside them," that is. As usual, the Wayfarer-class ship Chuzalla over-shot the mark by 2 or 3 miles and had to double back; apparently some re-calibration of its navigations computer was necessary, but with Thesh cutting costs in recent months it still hadn't happened. It was no setback, though; the Chuzalla re-joined the Bloodlust and the others in a moment or so, opened its hangar, and launched its Cloakshape starfighter and Y-wing (Thesh had spared no expense on the Y-wing, incidentally—for this attack, he'd had it loaded with all the proton bombs he could spare; seventeen of them in all, most from his one-time acquaintance Qual Onokha. In return, Thesh had asked Hejin in their meeting on Nar Shaddaa to do what he could to distract whatever fighters that LGM Co. might have to defend its station (he also promised Hejin sardonically that he'd try not to blow up the whole station).

Thesh, strapped into the cockpit of the Bloodlust, adjusted his headset as he brought up targeting solutions on the Company's space station and its defenses. "Bona nai kachu," he muttered as he grinned lustily at his heads-up targeting display and LGM Co.'s station, silhouetted over the swirling orange hues of Kuantar, grew larger.

(( Guess we continue on for now. ))

Hejin's craft, larger than the Wayfarer transport, was slightly better equipped to carry craft despite lacking a clear hangar. A trio of V-wing fighters detached from the sides of the ship, two peeling away to port, the solitary remaining to starboard to be matched by an ARC-170. The Theta-class shuttle dropped to the back of the fight, acting a recovery vehicle, while the pair of Y-TIEs would serve as close escort. Hejin's ATR-6 was operating as well as an extra vessel. Looking on from the bridge where they were still out of weapon range of the station, Hejin thumbed the comm switch.

"LGMC station, this is an old friend coming to call. Requesting you power down shields and weapons, have all pilots stand clear of their fighters and by all means, do not resist. Sound like a plan?"

Supposing I passed on my post (since there's not a lot I can do unless we're going to auto what the defenses are), this makes 4 days for Tremaine. I say we go ahead and auto the defenses? ))

I have to find the right request where he posted defenses. I know his station has some weaponry and fighter defenses still that we might be able to auto, just a matter of sorting through requests.))

There was no response from the station—it seemed the manager of the station refused to suffer the indignity of having to plead with Lim Hejin again. Thesh was quick to notice the lights come on in the station's hangar, and he hit the acceleration, sending the Bloodlust tearing towards the station at an oblique angle, Thesh's subordinates following his lead. "I got this," Thesh said to Hejin as red targeting solutions appeared all over the station's hangar on the Weequay's heads-up display. He began to read repulsorlift emissions from the hangar, too; confirmation, if any was needed, that the station was preparing to launch its compliment of V-wing starfighters.

Even before the station had powered up its pitiful array of laser cannons, Thesh opened fire with everything he had. 2 laser cannons, 4 ion cannons, and most importantly, 2 concussion missiles issued forth from the Bloodlust's deathly orifices. Combined with another laser cannon and a quad laser turret on the Chuzalla, close behind Thesh, not to mention the concentrated firepower from Thesh's fighters, they would stand a very good chance of hammering their way through the hangar's shields and inside of it. It wasn't precise, by any means—shots glanced off the shielding around the surrounding superstructure, too—but any hit was still a hit and contributed to bringing the shields down. If even one laser punctured the hangar's shield, it would blast up enough shrapnel from the floor of the hangar to send all the pilots and crews scrambling for cover. Maybe kill some of them or damage their fighters, too.

Either way, as the Bloodlust and Thesh's other ships pulled away, their barrage wouldn't be helping the station's shields and it sent a clear message that he and Hejin weren't fooling around. (Though, he supposed, they kind of were—this was the third time Hejin had knocked over this place. With its same old complement of V-wing starfighters, Thesh had a feeling his presence here wasn't even needed. He didn't say so, however, since he still wanted his cut).

(( I stole and destroyed some of his V-wings the last time I was here. I know he added some quad laser cannons to the station, but I don't remember if he restocked the fighters with something new. ))

It seemed that Thesh had the initial attack run well in hand. From the bridge of his vessel, Hejin wrinkled his nose at the attack run; it was decently executed, in his opinion, but when possible, Hejin preferred to use fear to intimidate, and the multiple heavy weapons on his ship had some serious intimidation power. Nonetheless, Hejin ordered his ATR-6 forward, flanked by the fighter compliment, with orders to destroy any enemy fighters and then proceed to engage the station at their discretion. Focusing his own cannons on the place he'd already hit twice before, he gave Rommel the order, and the man promptly opened fire with one turret, splattering the station with fire from one of the triple heavy turbolaser cannons and, ideally, doing quite a bit to drop the shields and assist Thesh.

"Thesh, prepare to board as soon as we can. Expect possible resistance. My transport will be on hand to board alongside yours."

Thesh would concede that Hejin was the more deliberate of the pair. Hejin wanted to scare the Telosians. "Death is scary," Thesh might've argued. Hejin's strategy, the threat of force, was more cunning. But for Thesh, some good old violence always did the trick. It was candy and liquor, as far as the Weequay was concerned—one was dandy, the other was quicker. It was hard to argue with this, as the station's shields went down in veritably no time; whether they were overwhelmed or the station manager had surrendered (again) and lowered his shields, Thesh couldn't be sure. He wasn't listening to transmissions from the station, if any, and was intent on forcing his way into it like a Houk into a woman (that is, according to the rumors Thesh, as a Weequay, had grown up on—rumors not charitable to the Houk species, no doubt).

Once the shields were down, Thesh covered his Y-wing as it pounded the station's defenses with proton bombs (hopefully, Hejin would allocate some of his fighters to keep him clear, too). If the Telosians had placed quad lasers on the station, they wouldn't be there for long; the rickety Y-wing only needed to make most of its shots to do significant damage to the station. Probably more than Hejin would have preferred, if truth be told. But it was certainly a message to the station's manager: Surrender, or this time your whole station's going to blow.

While Thesh and his fighters were occupied outside the station, the Wayfarer-class freighter Chuzalla plowed into the hangar so haphazardly that it skidded across its surface in a shower of sparks, no doubt colliding with one or more of the V-wings and generally causing chaos within. Hejin's shuttle was on hand and, presumably, it would make a more graceful landing. Once inside, however, almost before the Chuzalla had come to a stop, its hangar bay opened and Thesh's men charged out in a display of machismo that would have gotten them killed by an opponent that actually fought back. Blaster bolts filled the hangar, aiming at anything that moved—even poor R2 droids scrambling to (or from) their starfighters. The Chuzalla wasn't done, either; it continued firing on the V-wings inside the hangar with its formidable laser cannons. A poor Telosian pilot, trying to run away, caught the brunt of a quad laser blast from the freighter and was, well, quite beside himself.

"Take it easy in there," Thesh's voice said over the few headsets his men possessed, as if sensing what was happening inside without actually seeing it himself. "This station's supposed to be mining flammable materials, so careful what you shoot at." Ironic, from someone pummeling the station from the outside. Even in the hangar, one would be able to feel the durasteel floor shuddering beneath one's feet under the pounding from Thesh's Y-wing—not to mention the far superior firepower of Hejin's ship, the Stars of Arcadia.

(( Been over four days. ))

The Stars of Arcadia's cannons fell silent as the shields went down. Between Thesh's fighter coverage and Hejin's V-wings, Y-TIEs, ARC-170 and the ATR-6, odds were good that any remaining defense fighters were destroyed or fleeing. Thesh's largely overwhelming attack had struck down the majority of any enemy outside the station, and whatever resistance might have come from the quad lasers was quelled by the attacks on the turrets themselves or by the very threat of the weapons arrayed against the station. All in all, the guns and exterior resistance were likely to quit rather quickly.

The ATR-6 would indeed come down more gracefully than the Chuzalla, and with less firepower spewing from its weapons due to the nature of the station. Instead of the attack from within emerging as a charging mass, the ramp on the ATR-6 dropped and immediately any Telosian targets would be strafed with accurate E-web blaster fire from two positions set up inside to cover an emergence. Then Hejin's pirates emerged cautiously, moving for cover as they were disgorged from the ship.

"It seems things are going well, Thesh." Hejin's commentary would sound over the comm between their ships. "It looks like we have our time to snatch up what we came for and get out."

Indeed. Once the skirmish in the hangar ended—having ended quickly with the incapacitation/capture of the V-wings—there were no Telosians in sight. Probably locked themselves in a lounge or something. Either way (it having been 12 days now), Thesh and Hejin and their respective crews would have no problem off-loading the goods. Thesh made a point of raiding the mess hall too for liquor and also much-needed food for his crew. There, they found a cook exhibiting typical Telosian valor hiding under a table. They made him march around the station with him so that, if the Telosians were still in the control room, they wouldn't get any ideas about closing doors on them or venting the air or any other unwelcome tricks.

The station would be cleaned out in no time. "Easier than pulling a Gungan's ears over his eyes and convincing him it's night time," Thesh agreed, in a better mood than usual (and not just because of the rum he found in the mess hall that had enlivened his step).

Hejin was quite satisfied as well with the even split both pirates had received. His men from the ATR-6 had worked their way through, albeit in a more organized fashion, picking up not only the loot that Thesh and Hejin had agreed to divvy up, but their own spoils as well. Part of what Hejin's men acquired information from the LGMC facility's computers, including a customer basis, shipping schedules, transports, and an entire blanket list of useful information that even included profit listings and the sales records. Hejin thrived on more than simple piracy, after all, and information could well be a commodity. On their way back to the hangar with their spoils in tow, one of Hejin's men utilized one of the wall-mounted paging systems to broadcast a message facility-wide. "It is recommended all Telosian residents of this station make for the nearest life pods or evacuation systems immediately. This station is scheduled for termination within ten minutes."

The message delivered, Hejin's band quickly but calmly loaded their spoils and departed. From space, Hejin would wait for Thesh. "A good deal indeed, Thesh, and much, much easier. Now, when you and your men are done, please be so kind as to pull a few kilometers back. I'm going to erase this station. It won't be good for hitting too much longer."

Ever an admirer of fireworks, Thesh couldn't help but commend the usually subtle Hejin for his decision to blow up the station once and for all. Still, considering the incredible ease of robbing the place—Thesh was doubtful of Hejin's "candy from a baby" tales of Kuantar, but no longer—the Weequay was sad it wouldn't be here to knock over again (and again, and again). On the other hand, the LGMC would probably dismantle it now that it'd been robbed three times. The LGMC was a Telosian company, and the Telosians were known for capitulation (especially lately).

Might as well vape the place, then.

Thesh parted with Hejin peaceably as the Bloodlust and the rest of his ships cleared out. They remained in sight of the place only long enough to see it explode. Once that was finished, they'd jump to hyperspace and be gone, bound for the familiar confines of the Tammuz Sector.

Hejin awaited the tell-tale signs of Telosians fleeing every which way in lifepods and escape craft, vacating the station. Once a suitable amount of time had passed, Hejin calmly turned to Rommel and gave the nod of go-ahead. Cheerfully, the large man manned the guns by remote and opened fire from all three turrets in an obliterating salvo that tore gaping holes in the station, breaching its outer shell and rendering it nothing more than cosmic dust and debris. Opening a channel and playing over it an oddly mournful song for a moment, Hejin grinned and waved his goodbye to Thesh before departing to parts unknown with his large haul.
