This event would take place shortly after the horrific encounter with Havoc's hairy legs. After having dumped Havoc at some backwater world so the Jedi could make the trip to one of the Libs' outpost on Jabiim, Tremaine and Jalaila was heading to meet up with Senator Domon. The Telosian also received the Sluissi' approval in inviting Senator Fitzgerald along. There was two purposes of the meeting: The official one and the unofficial one. The Senator decided he would bring up the official purpose first to get an insight into the Sluissi' views toward the Empire. He also had hoped that the Ralltiir guy shared the very same liberal views with Tremaine. This meeting was not only an important step for the nonhumans, but also for everyone who wanted democracy and freedom in the galaxy.

A shuttle would appear as a blip on the Sluis Van docking authority, as Senator Fowlkes' personal shuttle had emerged out of hyperspace. Almost immediately, a familiar voice and image would appear and be heard over the holographic transmitter. The workers within the space station would be able to see that there was the Telosian piloting the shuttle, his fiancee Jalaila, and a couple of bodyguards. An accent that would be recognized that of the Telosians were heard, "This is Senator Fowlkes. I am expecting a meeting with Senator Domon here. Thus, I request a landing clearance."

While he was awaiting a reply from the docking authority, he pondered on how the views on the nonhumans had radically changed right after the Separatists had lost the Clone Wars. Sure, the Neimoidians and Muuns had gotten greedy and decided that the Confederacy was the best government to supplant the Republic. But he did not believe the rest of the nonhumans should be blamed for their radical actions, and that Human High Culture installed by the Empire should have never happened. Some of his close friends weren't humans and they behaved much better than the likes of Oswaldt and Ordan.

The Sluis Van Control office, based planetside, did indeed register the arrival of Senator Fowlkes' shuttle. He wasn't known by sight to the workers, of course, but his transponder checked out and his face did match the galactic database. Even if that hadn't been the case, there was a message set aside from Senator Domon's office that Senator Fowlkes, upon his arrival, was to be diverted to Domon's office within the massive Sluis Van Shipyards complex.

"Senator Fowlkes, welcome to Sluis Van. Please divert course to zero-niner-six degrees and follow the path in. You'll be met on arrival for your meeting with the Senator. Sluis Van Control out."

"Fowlkes out." He'd turn to look at Jalaila, of which seemed to be quiet at the moment. The Telosian was hoping that Senator Fitzgerald would show up in time for their meeting, diverting the shuttle's course as instructed. Continuing to follow the instructions, piloting the shuttle casually until he'd reach the assigned hangar bay. The ship made for a nice landing, before the engines were turned off by the Senator himself. He'd make sure Jalaila would be coming with him, with the bodyguards following closely behind. All four would make their way down the landing ramp, awaiting the welcoming committee.

She was quiet because she was traumatized. No, not really, that was just an exaggeration. Jalaila had spent most of the trip catching up on reading and other such things, letting Tremaine enjoy flying, since he seemed to do that.

Once they had arrived, Jalaila glanced up from what she was doing and offered Tremaine a smile. "Sorry. I must have zoned out." She said as she put her datapad down and stood, then straightened her clothes before she followed the Senator off of the ship.

A pair of human aides accompanied by one Sluissi aide would meet Fowlkes and his party at their landing site. After exchanging a few words of welcoming, they would offer to lead the quartet to Senator Domon's office in the shipyard complex, where, they mentioned, he was currently overlooking some of his personal touches to the newest shuttle-type design that SVS was going to unveil; all in all, an exciting and busy day for Domon, but he was always willing to see old friends like Fowlkes. So, without much pomp or ceremony, they'd be ushered at last into the waiting room adjacent to Domon's office. A few minutes of waiting later and the Sluissi senator would emerge with a smile on his face.

"Senator Fowlkes, a pleasure, a pleasure. Who is your delightful friend?"

The Telosian was pretty interested in the new design of a Slussi shuttle currently undergoing construction. He believed this was a small victory for the nonhumans. That they aren't as dumb or as corrupt as they seemed to be hailed by the Empire. Tremaine would be escorting Jalaila with her arm embedded in his, moving with the aides into the waiting room. In fact, Tremaine was happy there wasn't much celebration in his arrival. He doesn't warrant that as necessary, that he shouldn't be treated like someone special. There is a reason people call him "the People's Senator."

It didn't take long for the pair to wait. The Senator thought he was going to wait a while, and didn't mind that. Thus, the man was about to intiate a conversation with his lady when the Sluissi showed up. A small smile would emerge, and a nod would happen out of respect. The right hand were extended out for Domon to shake. "Indeed. It's always good to see you. This is Miss Kelrune."

Jalaila had her arm linked with Tremaines and the pair had whispered quietly for a few minutes while they waited. Idly, with her free hand, she smoothed his rumpled tie some. It didn't really bother her, in fact it was rather endearing the way the ties knot hung loose and the tie itself was sometimes laying askew.

When the Sluissi senator approached, she snapped her topaz gaze to him. "Jalaila, Senator." She smiled brilliantly. "No need for such a formality. Im Senator Fowlkes fiancee, and a former aide to another Imperial Senator. I hope you do not mind me tagging along. I have always wanted to see Sluis Van, and meet you of course "

Accepting Fowlkes' human greeting with warm, Domon returned the gesture, accepting the hand with a firm shake and releasing it. "A pleasure then, Jalaila. Congratulations to yourself and Senator Fowlkes on your engagement as well, and I hardly mind you coming with him. Sluis Van welcomes all visitors, as do I. Please, come into my office and make yourselves comfortable. Upon hearing of your arrival, I took the liberty of having some food prepared that would suit your cultural tastes. So tell me, Senator, what brings you to Sluis Van these days?"

The Telosian simply nodded at Senator Domon, "Thank you." It was said once in response to all the friendly comments the Sluissi had made toward the pair. He would allow his old friend enter his own office first before leading Jalaila inside. "You didn't have to arrange food to my liking. I would have enjoyed trying to experience what your cultural tastes were. It is your homeworld, after all. If I am going to truly understand your people besides you, I'm going to have to learn about your culture." Clearly, he wasn't like one of trillions of humans that would treat the nonhumans the way they are being treated nowadays.

As Tremaine had constantly preached, and truly believed it, all nonhumans should not be blamed for the actions of the Separatists. Many feared it meant the aliens were to supress humans if the Separatists had won the Clone Wars. That weren't the case, their leader is the evidence of that in the now-deceased Count Dooku. "I wish this was purely pleasure. That is not the case. I am here to speak about how you were being treated as a nonhuman, even as a Senator, your case would help the cause in promoting the rights of your people and several other species."

(( Been a few days. Sorry, Jalaila. ))

"I appreciate that thought, Senator Fowlkes," Domon commented on Fowlkes' statement of the food. "However, I had little readily available in Sluissi-styled food; we are not large eaters of meat, and due to the high amount of humans on this station, it is easier for me to acquire human food. Besides, learning a culture is far more than the food, Senator." Domon added the last part with a small chuckle. Inside the office, he motioned for Fowlkes and Jalaila to sit comfortably. "Well Senator Fowlkes, I am always... willing to discuss this idea, one might call it. I do not always feel as if I am being discriminated against and of course, I hardly expect things to change, but go more in depth f you wish."

((No worries. I have had a busy week, as I am sure you can understand.))

Jalaila settled down into the seat that the Senator so kindly offered to her, and Tremaine of course. Once she was there, she pulled a small datapad out of her handbag so that she could take notes about anything that Tremaine might need. It was what she was good at, seeing as how she previously worked doing the exact same thing for another Senator before. This was a little different of course, but none the less, she at least wanted to be useful.

The Senator was beginning to wonder if Senator Fitzgerald would show up. Perhaps he was far busier with his anti-slavery operations. He'd proceed to sit down next to Jalaila inside Senator Domon's office. "I understand. Some do not feel as heavily discriminated as others do. But there are billions of sentient beings that face discrimination because they simply aren't humans. You are a Senator, which means you could be a voice for those people. Don't you wish for everyone to receive the same rights that people of my own species does?"

Domon looked troubled for a moment, or at least as troubled in human terms as his reptilian face could represent. Fowlkes had always been a voice for reason, but one could never be too careful when dealing with others, especially on a subject where Domon had worked so hard to fit in and not cause waves. "I am already a voice for the humans and Sluissi of the Sluis Sector, Senator Fowlkes. Other species, from Twi'leks to Rodians to the Gran all have their own senators. It is not as if I can simply agree to speak for them. In some ways, we non-humans may not hold as many rights as we could, but the rights we have could well be denied by human high culture."
