Khedive Thisst Speaks Against Anti-human Sentiments

Earlier today, Khedive Strass Thisst issued a statement condemning any xenophobic threats or anti-human sentiments that have been rumored to be cropping up on worlds within the Sluis Sector. The Khedive has stated that humans and Sluissi are "all valued neighbors and friends, and there is certainly no need to cause a rift." Whether or not the fears of some are true remains to be seen, especially in light of reports coming from Praesitlyn that a human store owner was brutally raped by one of Brentaal's Givin miners. The authorities are still looking into this matter, but some believe it could drive a further wedge between the humans and aliens within the sector. Nonetheless, many backers of the Khedive, both human and Sluissi, have expressed great confidence that all matters will be put to rest in a timely, peaceable manner.

New Design Rumored to Come

Word from Sluis Van Shipyards is that a new vessel design has been placed for testing and construction. After the last designs from SVS did not exceed expectations in sales, the engineers have gone back to the drawing board to bring the galaxy an all-new Sluis Van design that this reporter is eager to see. The most recent word to emerge has placed this design as a civilian vessel that will act as an affordable transport and provide redundant safety features for its passengers. We will be eagerly standing by to see this vessel when it rolls out of the docks.

Congratulations to Senator Lomen Ryuun

Sluis Sector News offers congratulations to Senator Lomen Ryuun of Druckenwell on his appointment to Vice-chair of the Defense Committee. Ryuun, a longtime friend to Sluis Van, was recently named Vice-chair after pulling out of the running for Chairman and instead moving to support Senator Bernard Oriel of Vjun. "We expect many good things to come from Senators Oriel and Ryuun on this council," stated Senator Toben Domon of Sluis Van, who continued on to say, "I have high hopes that with them in charge, we need never have another Dantooine-Deralia fiasco."
