SLUIS SECTOR NEWS

Tragedy on Praesitlyn

Late yesterday afternoon, a freighter identifying itself as Tough Job, registered to Druckenwell, opened fire on Logger's Point, mining and timber camp on Praesitlyn, as well as the Brentaalian mining camp situated nearby, killing dozens and wounding far more. Khedive Thisst was quick to condemn the actions of the as-of-yet-unknown perpetrator, citing unidentified parties anti-alien groups as possible candidates for this violence. Khedive Thisst was quoted earlier today "This act... this senseless act of violence has left families torn apart, and for what reason? The Sluis Sector has been a peaceful sector for quite some time now, and this sort of attack on humans and non=humans alike will not be tolerated."

At this time in the investigation, contact with Druckenwellian Senator Lomen Ryuun has yielded no results as to the freighters true origin. "There has never been a record of a freighter under the name of Tough Job working out of Druckenwell," Senator Ryuun commented to our reporter. "I cannot see why someone would try to strain Druckenwell-Sluis Van relations other than to strain our trade partnerships and friendship. Our own investigators are looking into any and all possible connections on our end."

Senator Reuke Cambrist could not be reached for comment, but the Brentaalian Senator released a statement in the Senate earlier condemning Khedive Thisst's ability to defend the sector after this attack. Khedive Thisst had made no further comment, but Toben Domon, Senator of Sluis Van, came forth to say, "This is truly a tragedy. The fourteen dead from Brentaal, Anaxes, Telos IV, Chandrila, Naboo, Yag'dhul, Empress Teta, Deralia and Alsakan are no less a loss to their community as were the twelve dead humans and twenty-two dead Sluissi residents of Praesitlyn. Steps are being taken, I can assure you, to find the culprit and bring them to justice. In the meantime, the Sluis Sector intends to increase its defensive capability to ensure another tragedy like this does not occur again. My heart goes out to the families of the lost for their grief."

More will come on this story as our reporter is informed.
