Destroyed during the Invasion of Naboo, and left a burning ruin by the time it was liberated by the Gungan Grand Army before the Battle of Naboo, Spinnaker city hadn't seen good days since before the Trade Federation had occupied Naboo. The following years seeing the Clone Wars saw few projects and Spinnaker was left a shadow of its former glory, even the old fortress that once protected the city was still laying in ruins, fallen within its footprint, with a few bits that had fallen outside that line being cleaned up after the invasion. Its once brilliant spaceport also lay in ruins, destroyed as an objective by the Trade Federation, and left as an open plot. The nearby sea port was still standing, now housing Trade Federation vessels captured at the end of the invasion after the master code shut the droids down. This was the goal, the vessels being held in the sea port.

On the other side of the town engines could be heard starting up. Those that had been around since the invasion of Naboo could immediately pinpoint the noise of the engines. The STAPs that had been used by the Trade Federation, now under the control of the Gungans, came from the swamp, quickly approaching the outer fringe of the town. Their orders were to cause a distraction, and not to harm a single Naboo or RNSF member in or around Spinnaker. The STAPs took aim at the ground and the buildings that were built the heaviest, as well as parts that were not essential or load bearing. The laser cannons struck against the surfaces, making a loud noise as the STAPs flew over head and churned up the village, waking those that hadn't to the noise of their engines. Nearby in the swamps two AATs took aim at a vacant building, left abandoned since the Invasion, having the same order, not to injure the Naboo citizens or RNSF members. The tanks fired a heavy volley, the laser cannons tearing through the abandoned building, leaving large holes in the wall.

The rounds were followed by a handful of boombas that came flying through the air, hitting the vacant building and the ground. The boombas bursting when they struck a solid object, the throwers careful that they didn't hit any civilian or RNSF member in the area. The attack didn't let up, though at this point it was more of a stalling action to bring the RNSF attention to this side of town as a second group of Gungans were getting ready to hit the seaport.

Having endured a decade of war, the RSF was a formidable foe. But its weakness was its predictability, and Tenko's diversion—so far, at least—was a pronounced success. It was immediately apparent that this was a Gungan attack, and it didn't escape the notice of Sergeant Major Knopes, the commander of Spinnaker's RSF precinct, that they were directing a large amount of firepower at an empty building. Knopes was a veteran of the Trade Federation invasion and the numerous Separatist invasions of Naboo, and he was no pushover. But while he did intuit the Gungans didn't mean any harm to the RSF or the people of Spinnaker, he attributed Tenko's attack on the empty building to this, rather than the possibility (probability, even) that it was a feint.

It was the AATs that did it for him. He would not tolerate the shelling of his city, and he scrambled his forces to root out the AATs. He dispatched a pair of Flash speeders to pursue the STAPs, while sending a pair of Champion speeders out the South Gate, some distance from the AATs, in an attempt to take them by surprise. The Flash speeders would be on the scene, well, in a flash. The Champions would take a bit longer, but as long as the Gungan AATs were blowing their ammo on an empty building, Sergeant Major Knopes would forfeit haste in an attempt to take them by surprise.

All RSF forces in Spinnaker were put on alert. Gian speeders took to the streets to urge citizens indoors and keep an eye out for Gungan incursions. The precinct's third and only remaining Champion speeder was fired up, but remained in its garage for the time being. Knopes put in a call to Theed, apprising them of the situation. Reliably pro-Imperial, he also defied protocol and commed the nearest Imperial FOB. It was too far away to make much of a difference, but closer than any other reinforcements that Knopes had at his disposal. He didn't request reinforcements, mind, but rather notified the Imperials that a Gungan attack on Spinnaker was in progress.

Captain Dar had been entrusted with this critical mission of regaining the vessels held in the port, knowing that the tanks would be pinpointed quickly, he pulled them back into the swamp. Moving them to cover the flank of the Gungan Catapults, the crews taking orders from a forward observer who called in the targets. The large boombas tore through the air before striking the ground near the building that the tanks had previously targeted. The weapons exploding as they struck the ground and their target, still making sure that none of the projectiles struck any RNSF members or civilians as the forward observer called in the strikes. The tanks now scanning the area around the catapults to ensure their safety.

As the siege continued, the second motion of the plan came in. The STAPs swung back around for another run, firing at the ground and at any empty building near them before pulling off and circling around the city, taking the RNSF on a goose chase of sorts after them. As the Gungans continued to split the RNSF forces, the water ways in the city began to churn as five Bongo Advance Scouts emerged from the water, taking aim at the defensive turrets and firing upon them. The pilots of the Bongos ordered to only disable the turrets and not destroy them, so they could be easily repaired and running again.

The opinion was beginning to form in Sergeant Major Knopes mind that this was, probably, a Gungan publicity stunt—an attempt to draw the RSF into its war with the Empire, perhaps. The goal, according to this theory, would be simply to make the news in Theed and this, to Knopes' mind, explained the shelling of an abandoned building and, from the accounts coming in over the comm from the Flash speeders on the scene, the deliberately poor aim of the Gungan STAPs. (The Flash drivers on the scene didn't put much faith in Gungan aim, or in Gungans generally, but even to them it was unusual the Gungans hadn't hit them even once, and Knopes, while cautioning himself not to jump to conclusions, couldn't help but do so).

Even so, in the event that the now-fleeing STAPs and AATs were attempting to draw RSF forces into an ambush in the trees, Knopes had his Flash speeders stop pursuit at the tree-line and simply fire after the Gungans. The Champion speeders made a bit more of a fight of it—now on the scene, they fired heavily into the trees in the apparent direction of the Gungan catapult, the powerful blasts tearing through tree limbs as the Champions advanced cautiously; hits or misses, Knopes would not tolerate Gungan rebels firing on his city.

And so a rare expletive slipped from his lips as he was caught unprepared for the Gungan submersibles in the channel. He ordered (at the top of his lungs) crews to their boats and gunners to the turbolaser turrets that towered over the city, knowing full well this would take too long—the turrets weren't manned full-time, and while Spinnaker had a squadron of patrol boats, only a couple of them were on patrol at any one time and the rest would need to be fueled up. Well, that made 2 scout frigates churning up waves in the channel as they made their way to the scene. They were still a few minutes out, however—most of the patrols weren't in the channel but in the harbor, some distance away, where some of Naboo's notorious aquatic predators occasionally pursued trawlers and posed a danger to seafarers.

Captain Dar couldnt have seemed happier, the plan was continuing the draw the RSF members out and further into the snare he had set. As the Flash speeders and the Champion speeders began to fire into the tree line, tearing it apart, the Gungans that had fled into them remained still and silent, hiding in makeshift holes that were covered with the dense vegetation of the undergrowth and now the splintered tree limbs they waited until the speeders slowly advanced pass them. It was now time to test out those S5 Heavy Blaster Pistols that they had acquired in the previous raid. When the speeders were far enough in, the trap was sprung. The gungans that had hidden down in the fox holes slowly came out, kneeling down behind the trees and fallen branches, all cover provided to them by the RSF, they took aim down the scopes of the pistols, lining up shots. They took their time and when the moment was right they fired, however, it wasn't blaster bolts that flew through the air. If they were lucky, the RSF members would feel small stings, almost like a mosquito biting them. These stings though were anesthetic microdarts, meant to knock out the RSF members.

The Tanks however where still on watch just in case, their orders where to hinder the flash speeders that did make it through and to disable them as best they could. They didn't want to kill any of the Naboo or else it would be bad for them. Various snares though were set up along the way that would make it difficult for the flash speeders to get through, including water filled pits and trenches that the speeders wouldn't be able to get over. The STAPs had begun their long flight back around, making a large loop that brought them out along the road that lead from Spinnaker to Theed, the length still showing signs of the Clone Wars battle as the rubble remained, the pilots soon enough opened fire on the rubble, making sure their shots hit nothing else. This new front was meant to spread out the RSF members in Spinnaker and keep them from the harbor.

Captain Dar nodded as he was given a report of the events, the Bongo scouts still laying down disabling fire on the turrets in the water way to keep them out of the fight and let the Gungans stay in it longer. In the harbor came the next stroke of the plan. From the water emerged two Gungan Transport Ships, escorted by a Bongo Heavy Missile, and two Bongo Fast Lasers, the Heavy Missile and Fast Lasers unleashed crippling fire upon the vessels in the harbor to prevent their use, as well as the tower defenses around the harbor, only setting out to disable them for the time being as the transports came to shore, the Gungans on board were quickly deployed as they began to secure the harbor, finding the best locations to keep a hold and remaining behind cover, using the stands, crates, wagons, anything. Their goal though was in sight. As the main group of gungans held the Harbor, a second group moved to the impound lot and tore through the chains on the gate, their target, two Ostracoda class gunships.

Enclosed beneath reinforced transparisteel canopies, the RSF officers manning the Champion speeders would be safe from the darts, though the same couldn't be said for the Flash speeders. A driver of one of the Flash speeders was hit, sending his vehicle careening into a tree, damaging it badly and tossing its occupants to the forest floor. They weren't seriously hurt, however, and scrambled quickly for cover beside the nearest Champion speeder and laying down efficient—and deadly—covering fire at the entrenched Gungans (they couldn't see the Gungans, of course, but knew the direction they were in). The other Flash speeders, which had held outside the tree-line, ambled further back from the trees while laying down suppressing fire; they didn't follow the STAPs down the road, realizing it must have been an attempt to lure them further away from the city proper—these weren't cowboys, like the Imperials, and they knew the defense of Spinnaker was their responsibility, not chasing Gungans halfway to Theed.

The Champions, meanwhile, unimpeded by the traps and snares meant for the smaller Flash speeders, finally blasted through a bank of trees and into the clearing where the Gungan AATs were positioned (stated to be holding their ground, they presumably remained where they were as the Champions had approached). The heavily-armored Naboo speeders, comparable in firepower to the AATs, broke off in two directions in the limited amount of space in the clearing, remaining in motion as their blaster cannons swivelled to face the AATs and opened fire, pounding away on the armored hulls of the Gungan tanks. The handful of RSF officers who'd taken cover beside the Champions took cover now in the brush, remaining out of sight for now and hoping one of the AATs would turn away from them to track the Champions, so they could charge it on foot from behind.

These Gungans were good, but ultimately these hardened RSF men had more experience destroying AATs than the Gungans did operating them. And with the STAPs preoccupied on the road to Theed, this was fast-becoming a Shaak-shoot.

Not that this particularly mattered to Sergeant Major Knopes, who had turned his attention entirely on the channel where even more Gungan submersibles had appeared. The sound of cannon tearing through the laser towers and sending charred bricks clattering to the street below reminded Knopes of the darkest days of the Trade Federation invasion. These Gungans wouldn't get away with this, he decided; seeing the number and strength of the Gungan submersibles, Knopes ordered his pair of scout frigates already in the channel to hold position, blocking its exit into the harbor. On the opposite end of the channel, where the river flowed into it, he ordered the channel's gate drawn shut, and had his remaining forces take up positions there on either bank. It wouldn't be difficult for the Gungans to blast through the gate (intended primarily to prevent schools of ollopoms from clogging the harbor during the mating season) and gun it back to the swamps, but it'd take them long enough that the RSF men on both banks could pound them in the few moments they'd be bottle-necked there.

The Flash speeders, meanwhile, were recalled to Spinnaker to harass the Gungans from the shore, but to do so from around corners or otherwise out of sight or range of the Gungan vessels. For the most part, then, their raid wouldn't be difficult.

(( I imagined the impound lot would be out-of-the-way in the channel toward the center of the city, at the RSF precinct, rather than in the harbor itself. I'm happy to agree to the Gungan transports being there instead if you want to make that minor change. ))

Finding themselves being fired upon by the flash speeders that had been called back, the main group of Gungans sent out on the raid began to take cover. It had come so quickly, though in truth it was repeated so much that the Gungans began to be able to time the moments between each Flash speeder firing and moving. Almost to the point that the Gungans were able to move closer to the two Gunboats each time the speeders relocated before firing again. In that moment it seemed to turn into an intricate dance between the Gungans rushing from cover to cover and the flash speeders firing and relocating. It was lucky though for the Gungans that there didnt seem to be anyone else in the impound yard and it gave them a clear shot to the gunboats. The group of Gungans broke off into two pairs of four, each group securing the gunboat as the remaining Gungans kept a watch for any RSF soldiers that could arrive at the yard at any moment. For the most part though they were in the clear as the two groups of four began to power up the Gunboats, their old engines taking a time to spew out the dust and get the fuel running before they both came roaring to life among a haze of black fog from their starting in so long. The gunboats slowly surged forward as they took to the waves of the channel, the submersibles remaining on station as the few Gungans left from the raid reentered the transports, which promptly began to fade under the waters, leaving the two gunboats, the fast bongos, the heavy missile and the five bongo scouts just above the water line.

The submersibles, per their name though, began to pull back down under the waves, turning towards the channel gate as the two gunboats rode above the waters. The gate before them wouldn't be too tall an order to deal with as the submersibles locked on beneath the waves, and for the first time in nearly two decades, the Gunboats Heavy Laser cannons were brought online, slowly powering up with a low hum. The two gunboats took aim above the waters as the submersibles dealt with the gate below. In what seemed like a practice dance, the group of vessels all fired in unison, blasting open a hole large enough in the channel gate that it would allow the submersibles and gunboats through with ease. All vessels began to surge forward, the submersibles making a clean get away beneath the waves as they tore into the swamps as the gunboats surged forward, blasting the water up in large wakes on each side as they ran to the hole in the gate.

Finding themselves out in the open, the AAT commanders knew to pull back, knowing that the two Champion speeders and few RSF on the ground were more than enough to deal with the tanks as they began to pull back into the swamps. The catapults by now where already packed up and ready to pull out, being pulled away from the area and being covered by the AATs which in turn did the same. The two tanks tracked the speeders as best they could, obviously not being as fast as they aimed towards the ground in front of the speeders, firing to kick up dirt and attempt to block the speeders view and their path as they pulled back towards the swamps. This left the damaged Flash speeder out in the open, still pinned against the tree, a group of three Gungans slowly made their way up to it, keeping low and avoiding the fire that came from all directions as the RSF fired in the direction of the Gungan trenches that had been dug. The three managed to grab the blaster cannon on the back, one pulling it up and letting loose a quick salvo of four rounds, meant to keep the RSF heads down or to force them into cover as the gungans in the trenches began to pull back, the small groups here and there splitting off into the swamps and rushing through the trees. When they were clear, the three yanked on the blaster cannon, and thanks to it being detachable and having been knocked loose in the crash, managed to pull it in one go before they all carried it off into the swamps. By now the STAPs had already doubled off of the road, knowing they werent being followed and not wanting to run into a patrol, they rushed towards the hills before swinging around and into the swamps south of Spinnaker, thus leaving only the two Gunboats in the channel as the last Gungan forces needing to flee the city.
