Since his brief run-in with the pirate group, Jeffrey Hodder had since gone on to bigger and greater things. Hodder & Sons was rapidly becoming a major name in the Tammuz Sector for being prompt, keeping the cargo safe and secure and above all, speedy deliveries. Already Hodder & Sons had been able to buy out three other shipping companies on Shiffrin, bringing them that much closer to Hodder's goal of expanding his shipping operations to elsewhere in the Tammuz Sector. At present, Hodder was beginning to look into the possibilities of expanding to Deralia, or perhaps to Fyodos or Tatrang VIII. Either way, as he paid all the proper permits for his security, mercenary escorts for convoy shipping, etc and still pulled a profit, he was able to come out quite ahead.

However, Tammuz-an remained the trading hub of the sector, not only because it wasn't quite as far from the sector's major trade artery as Shiffrin was, but also because it lay on the path to Shola, the Empire's adminsistrative capital of the sector and, beyond it, the Zoraster Sector. No doubt, Hodder & Sons was becoming renowned for inter-Tammuz Sector shipping, but without running his shipments through Tammuz-an, he wasn't connected to "the grid," as it were, and it would continue to be the Tammuz-an-based shipping concerns that raked in the big bucks and big contracts. It was true what they said in the Tammuz Sector—"You ain't got purple skin, you ain't in." Granted, this wasn't said by too many people, but a truism it was nonetheless (poor punnery though it was it succeeded in conveying its point, one would think).

Overtures had been made to Deralia, and Dandelo and Dersonn III were presently out of the picture. It seemed as if Deralia and Chuzalla would be the primary focus for expansion for the moment for Hodder & Sons Shipping. The point, of course, was not to supplant Tammuz-an when it came to shipping; it was not even to make billions of credits, at least not yet. The simple short-term goal was indeed, to gain renown for being a good company for inter-Tammuz Sector shipping, which was precisely what they were doing. Of course, Hodder & Sons Shipping was still connected elsewhere, largely on Imperial Center, where they saw a greater revenue in some months over what they made at their offices on Shiffrin (understandably). Nonetheless, they were a tenacious bunch.

It had finally occurred: Hodder & Sons had finally become the sole shipping company on Shiffrin. Through a combination of having the fastest vessels, the most workers and offering the most competitive prices, they'd managed to buy out or throw into ruin every other competitor on the planet. Still, unfortunately, they would be considered small-time in the grand scheme of the galaxy. Nonetheless, it was increased revenue that was flowing into their coffers. Tatrang VIII in the Tatrang System would soon become the site of their new headquarters; papers had been filed with the Tammuz Sector Trade Office to ensure that all went smoothly and without a hitch. Ideally, all would continue to do so. Fortunately as well, Hodder had learned his lesson about pirates and his convoys now had escorts for their travel.
