Vorusk silently stood at the large window that graced his office, looking out at the grounds below. The AT-MWs had been doing pre-test trial runs, making sure that they moved properly, that their systems were installed and ready to go before they'd be revealed to the higher ups. He already knew though that the weapons they brought out from this facility wouldn't be used throughout the Stormtrooper Corps, the AT-MWs though wouldn't be just a waste and put up to gather dust, they'd still have a home in the 9th Legion. A knock on his door brought him back as he spoke up. "Enter" his assistant coming in with a datapad and a report on the actions of the walkers. Each of them having checked out and were ready to be unveiled as he nodded and handed the datapad back. "Be ready for guests to arrive, the higher ups should be coming shortly to see the AT-MWs final tests." The assistant nodded as they left the room, Vorusk taking one last look out the window before he stepped away and got changed into his dress uniform.

His heavy boots echoed through the hall as he marched down it, two assistants in tow as he stepped down the stairs into the main factory floor. "Lieutenant Sunder" Vorusk called out for the man who would be leading the 9th Legion's 1st Experimental Artillery Platoon.

Sunder had just finished the last testing run as he pushed open the canopy, hearing General Vorusk calling for him as he stood up and saluted. "Sir, I'll be right now" He grabbed hold of the ladder brought to him, sliding down the rails before he landed and spoke with his co-pilot, then turned to the General and approached him. "It's ready sir, they ride without a problem, almost like the old AT-RTs we had in the Clone Wars." Sunder was one of the few trained for that role and had found a new home in the 9th when Vorusk stole him over from the 41st Elite Corps in the war. "They'll be ready for the final show off trials, just need a coat of paint which the technicians are putting on now sir."

The AT-MWs would be painted the regular Imperial Grey, though they had the added addition of the 9th Legion's emblem, along with Currahee painted on it as well to mark it as a 9th Legion vehicle.

After some planning and organizing by High Command, as well as consideration, which honestly last nearly five minutes; it was decided that High Command was to have no presence at CC-12/5689's demonstration. It was solely be General Karath, and only because of his interest in new technology for the Army, through his position as the Director of the Strategic Studies Institute. They were the cadre that looked into the future of warfare, and it was the future that they wished to reach while in the present. The AT-MW was a radical design concept, both from an engineering perspective as well as aesthetically.

It was this interest, regardless, that drew the ranking members of SSI to Azzameen. In high orbit of the planet, the Gladiator-class Star Destroyer Liberation dropped out of hyperspace. From it's hangar quickly launched the Sentinel-class Landing Craft Azure Hunter, carrying the High General, his staff of six, the respective official Army and Navy representatives of the SSI, General Zanatos Carthage and Admiral Alfredo Fortinet respectively, as well as their staff. Aboard their shuttle also were three teams of Imperial Commandos, assigned to each command officer as their personal bodyguard unit; their presence was more formality rather than function today. Six LAV/r QH-7 Chariots were also unloaded, one for each command officer and their staff, and one for each Commando team.

After a routine that was well rehearsed, and only took all but five minutes to run through, the Chariots were speeding through the base towards the facility where the AT-MWs were stored. Without any pomp and circumstance, how General Karath preferred it, the group strode within the facility, approaching the first officer to be sighted. "Trooper, I am High General Drake Karath of High Command, where is General CC-12/5689?" he asked, without emotion and the heavy hand of authority riding in the undertones of his voice.

It was a surprise to see the High General addressing him, or even being at the facility as Silver turned around and saluted the High General, the troops that he was standing with, members of easy company had also quickly risen to their feet and saluted as well. "Sir. General Vorusk is at the far end of the facility speaking with Lieutenant Sunder, the trooper that is to command the new experimental platoon of the AT-MWs." Silver motioned towards the far end of the facility, giving them a direct line of sight between the AT-MWs that were standing quietly in the facility, many of their pilots looking over the walkers and checking their systems as they were becoming acquainted with the new walkers that they would be piloting.

Those pilots that were in their walkers paying attention all saluted when they saw the High General, technicians in the facility also saluting as well as they watched the High General and his sortie walk the facility.

He and his retinue strode through the facility, silently, but quickly, inspecting it as they went. One thing he always enjoyed with the Stormtroopers was the absolute discipline. He was glad the plan to integrate birth-born personnel into their ranks was going at a deliberate pace; enlistment would be allowed at the beginning of the next year, with transfers for select officers allowed as well... including a few forced transfers of those deemed integral to the transition, with officer commissions to be made fully open mid-way through the year, at the graduation of the upcoming Academy class and once the first platoons of birth-born recruits pass boot camp. All would be subject to the same training, and the same expectations, as the Clones. Despite an increase in number and available force, the quality was to remain.

Once he reached the end of the building, he presented himself to the clone General. "General CC-12/5689, a pleasure to meet you. I'm glad to finally meet the only clone to achieve the rank of General thus far," he said to him, awaiting the relevant pleasantries to be exchanged.

Vorusk, along with Sunder and the co-pilot all saluted when General Karath spoke up, standing silently as they listened before Vorusk nodded. "I only did what was order sir, it was the Empire that deemed I should be a General." He brought down his salute as he looked back to Sunder and his co-pilot before he nodded then turned back to the High General. "If you follow me sir I will show you to the viewing area. The AT-MWs will be brought out shortly. We've already done a few test runs and Lieutenant Sunder here can attest to their performance." Vorusk stepped to the side and brought his arm up to show the High General and his sortie towards the stairs that would take them to a large sitting room over looking the main firing ranger. Vorusk pushed the doors open as he stepped inside, two soldiers inside saluting as they saw the High General and his group.

"Please make yourselves comfortable, the preview will begin shortly." Vorusk stepped towards the window as he pressed a few of the controls, the shutters slowly opening and pulling up to reveal the firing grounds. Three of the AT-MWs already standing ready and waiting for the order as an assistant to Vorusk stepped into the room and passed out the details of the new walkers to the High General and his sortie.

((Okay, lost my steam tonight. Will get a post up on this tomorrow night.))

((Or a couple of days later... sorry, man.))

He returned their salutes quickly, as did the officers behind him. Once "Vorusk" was done speaking, he nodded, and turned to Sunder. "I hope you do well; you could pave the future of our walkers today." There was no more to it, but the reality was, anything but an absolutely flawless performance would likely doom this design to the scrapheap. "Vorusk" and his Clones of the Ninth Legion had worked hard on the AT-MW, however it was a rapid departure from both design theory and doctorine as far as the Imperial Military was concerned. He could see its possible application in sale to the local governments, should they fail today, but the honest truth was they were set up to fail. Nonetheless, he was tasked with forging the future of the Empire's surface warfare capabilities, and he was giving the AT-MW the best chance he could.

He followed "Vorusk" up to the viewing area, and began to review the datapad in front of him once seated. "General CC-12/5689, tell me about the design, personally. And what inspired you to depart so radically from current philosophy and doctorine."
