Vigilance Inc. Stock to Fall on CEO's Arrest
Shares of the Kanz Sector-based defense company Vigilance Technologies, Inc. are expected to fall at the start of trading this week on the Aargau Exchange as the market reacts to news that the company's CEO was arrested during the recent droid uprising on Imperial Center, Trade News analyst Lars Tanfelt reports. Vigilance CEO Alyn Stark, with a squadron of paid mercenaries, is reported to have intruded on an Imperial no-fly zone during the droid uprising with Vigilance-made droid starfighters escorting them—the droid starfighters, heavily-promoted by Vigilance Technologies and its supporters, including Senator Lomen Ryuun of Druckenwell, fired on Imperial TIE fighters and then exploded; it isn't clear whether the fighters self-destructed or, if so, why.
TIE fighters reportedly forced Mr. Stark to the ground, where Imperial forces arrested him. Though he has since been released, his arrest and "antics" during the droid uprising have complicated his bid to be Senator of his home planet of Lorrd and, according to Mr. Tanfelt and his sources on Aargau, embarrassed his company's shareholders.
"With [Vigilance Technologies, Inc.'s] CEO embarking on this sort of publicity stunt-gone-wrong, it's harder to take his company seriously," one potential investor was quoted as saying. "I'm very troubled by the poor—frankly, treasonous—performance of the Vigilance drones," said another.
It's unwelcome news for Vigilance Technologies, a company that's been referred to as "shady" and has gone so far as to solicit the support of Senator Ryuun to improve Vigilance's brand recognition and consumer confidence in its products, sources say. It also comes amid rumors that analysts on Alsakan are considering a downgrade of the company's creditworthiness as a result of the incident on Imperial Center and poorer-than-expected sales of its drone starfighter designs.
Antilles & Brentioch, a respected stock brokerage firm on Brentaal, has reportedly advised its clients with shares of Vigilance to "sell, sell, sell." Yag'dhul to Purchase Three Squadrons of Arrowhead-class Interceptor
Yag'dhul today announced that it'd be the latest world to place an order with Rothana Heavy Engineering for the Brentaal-sponsored Arrowhead-class interceptor, seeking to purchase three squadrons of the compact and cost-efficient drone design for patrol of the Givin Domain.
Lars Tanfelt, an analyst for the Trade News, reported that Arrowhead interceptors on patrol in the heavily-trafficked Givin Domain—at the intersection of the Rimma Trade Route and the Corellian Trade Spine—will result in greater visibility for the Rothana product referred to in a Trade News editorial as "quantity and quality in one sleek frame."
Centares is rumored to also be considering a purchase of the Arrowhead design, the rollout of which suffered a setback with the cancellation of the Auril Sector war games--intended to showcase the Arrowhead design—as a result of hostility from the Cronese Mandate last year. Brentaal is reportedly seeking an alternative venue to showcase the Arrowhead in the coming months. Orvax IV Slave Fair Approaching
Slavers from the Core Worlds to the Outer Rim are preparing their stock for sale as the annual slave fair on Orvax IV, one of the largest in the galaxy, draws near. Hundreds of thousands of slaves pass through the fair's auction blocks each year, but this year's event could prove controversial as both Ralltiir and Alsakan have stepped up anti-slaving operations as far as Hutt Space. Some believe one or both worlds could make a show of force at Orvax IV.
The planet is a common gathering place for slaving fleets, and the Empire announced it would have a Star Destroyer in-system to "make sure that commerce shall not be disrupted in the Savareen Sector."
