Within a day of Lennon being imprisoned, a message did come for the man, but not one that was exactly helpful. It read something like this:

"Mr. Lennon,

You have been, over the years, a grand help in the matter of educated minds and beings. As such, I write this letter with a feeling of regret and a small measure of guilt, though this decision was not mine alone. The board has convened, you see, and charges of treason and inciting rebellion, even if the media, your media, as everyone knows, decries them as false. We need the distance, Mr. Lennon, and the fact that protests are being organized at Lorrd University, a grand university that has made a great name for itself is now disrupted by these issues means we need the distance even further.

"As such, I regretfully inform you that pending the recent emergency board meeting, you have been almost unanimously voted out as Chancellor of Lorrd University and I have been elected to fill the spot. As Vice-chancellor, I do regret it has come to this, Mr. Lennon. You were a good colleague but this inciting of armed action? People should not be taking up blasters in the streets. I do hope everything comes together and that we may welcome you back with open arms.

Regards,

Gregory Rosencrantz, Chancellor"

It would seem that some of Lennon's friends were deserting him in turn; anything that involved going against the Empire, unless one was a rebel, tended to make people back off and reconsider loyalties and whether or not they would be acting for the good of the Empire, which aided their own interests, or against it.
